It is insane, paying IDR3 8m Rupiah? For some Indonesian people such as domestic workers, that is a one month salary. iDo people ever think the average local Indonesian people will ever pay that price? But some people are thinking with their other head. For a few people paying IDR3. 8 m or IDR500k might be less relevant. Example for this are people who just come to Jakarta once in their lifetime, not regularly. These people are actually destroying their own environment, but it will also effect everybody else.
Also I do not think those who provoke this price to other international mongers are all genuinely civvy girls, they might be agents, pimps or Apps marketers try to lure people to use their paid services.

Tinder was a goldmine though. Couple of quick notes:

Got to agree with you. Pre-Covid I had given up on bars / nightclubs and switched to Tinder. Pay for Gold Membership a few weeks before travel and start trawling. - For reference I'm 40 and not ugly, but I think as long as you are white and can project success in a couple of photos you would clean up.

- Paying for the 'boosts' works, I could get 100+ likes in an hour, which is more than enough to pick from. They'd drip through at 1-2 per day without a boost though. A lot of people list their IG handle so if you are cheap just add them on IG and message them there.

- There's a bunch of IG model types. They're not really my vibe so I didn't try to match, I prefer somebody more modest and honestly a lot of them look pretty ran through, especially the ones with a lot of travel pics to eg Dubai / Singapore.

- There's also a lot of girls that will hit you up for ppm straight away. These seemed to be either spa girls off-shift (they'd message during the day) or just freelancers. Was quoted 1 M for ST by a bunch of girls. I didn't follow through with any of these and tbh a lot of the pics didn't seem genuine.

Yes. I think that since they saw we were foreigners, they raised their prices. I am glad we didn't pay it as it was so extreme.

I paid that overprice and I can't say it was worth it. Although the chick I had was attractive.

A mamasan and a man came up to us as soon as we entered and shook our hands. We ordered a beer and the mamasan pulled out a card with prices. It has 5 levels of prices from Silver to Import. The starting price was 1 Million for the low-end girls. There were a lot of nice-looking girls, but we felt the prices were too high.

We drank until 8 pm and walked over to the club. There was a lot more girls here and not enough men, so the ratio was good. As noted in other reports, as soon as they saw us come in, about 5 girls swarmed us for drinks. We started to talk about prices and it was 3. 8 M for full service which was crazy.
