I've done this recently both in Jakarta and Bali, no issues with hotel, anywhere between 4-5 star ones.

In Bali resort they even ask if I have a friend during check in, since this is inclusive one (with bfast and club access) I had to say yes, and they ask for my lady friend's ID, no issue.

Also I wouldn't worry if you go to big spa, karaoke etc either. The police get's their cut from establishment.

For what's it worth, the new law basically will be enforced if your lady friend's husbands, BF, relatives etc report your involvement to the police; maybe good idea to date single women only.

I stayed at Wyndham Casablanca, which really is quite easy. Lots of guests and foreigners for them to not care about anybody. They don't even need key cards in the elevators.

I got lucky because I left Jakarta (but was planning to come back). I got in touch with a girl from the train track.

She told me there was a police raid. Load of people arrested.

Apparently arrested people risk 15 years in prison. Probably this is for the pimp. Girls would suffer a different fate.

I visited the Aurum spa near Green Sedayu mall (West Jakarta). I couldn't find any reviews, so I went in blind. I wasn't even sure what kind of place it was, but google photos showed the same look of the other Jakarta spas I've been to, with many long couches. This is far outside of the tourist center, so it's not surprising that the staff spoke no English. Thank goodness for Google translate. The price was something like 250 k for massage, 300 k for HJ, 400 k for BJ, and 550 k for everything. That's all-in, plus whatever tip. The host was very friendly. They brought out about 10 girls, each one shaking my hand on the way in. They seemed happy and warm and the place generally had a good vibe. Lots of smiles. None of the girls were spinners, but they were pretty and, so far as I could tell, mostly in the 18-22 range. I wouldn't call the rooms luxurious, but they were more than adequate. Clean, in-room shower, decent-sized bed. The girl I chose was cute and had a surprisingly great attitude in bed. No massage took place, which was OK with me. We just got straight to it and it was great. I would repeat here if I were in the area. Probably not going to go out of my way, though, given all the other options in Jakarta.

Thanks, yeah, I'm familiar with the website. Unfortunately, it hasn't really been updated to account for the changes in the nightlife scene post COVID.

The bars and clubs mentioned such as Dragonfly, Basque etc. Are a little too classy for my liking and best visited as a group. I tend to go out solo and am more drawn to seedier dive bars where it's less pretentious and hence, easier to meet people.

Sadly, these types of bars appear limited nowadays. Always open to any suggestions.

I have been talking to few girls on DIA. This young girl showed interest but backed out of Yogyakarta trip and also meeting saying her parents did not agree for her to stay overnight. Not very pretty when we video chat, slightly chubby.

Since I was visiting Philippines anyway I was not really looking for girls. If I found someone decent looking I would take to Yogyakarta. My main goal of going to Indonesia is seeing Borobudur which was on my bucket list for a long time. I am very happy to see. Every one of those lattice stupas has a statue of Buddha. Some were opened by Dutch.

For me it was a tourist trip mainly. I was definitely very tired to even think of sex and associated hard work.

I read about 12 pages back, and see a few mentions of BBFS and some contradictory impressions. Seems like BBBJ is pretty common but BBFS less so but can be obtained for a tip. Anyone in Jakarta have an opinion?

I used to enjoy visiting the bars in Blok M on Jl. Falatehan some 10-20 years ago. Hearing that it was now a shadow of its former self, I thought I'd check it out this past weekend anyway. Indeed, it's a pretty sad state of affairs. The old D's Place and My Bar next door were the only bars open. There were about 8 old dudes in D's Place. There was no music, but when a friend I came in and ordered a beer, the music started and four dancing girls came out. It was very far from its former glory.

Any suggestions for bars that best resemble those from the old Blok M days? Even if there's not a plethora of working girls, just something a little sleazy, a place with some freelancers and the opportunity for a beer and chat with the option of taking some company home. I'm kinda feeling done with KI, Classic, railway tracks etc. It just seems there's so few alternatives nowadays. Eastern Promise is okay, but would prefer something where I'm less likely to bump into work colleagues.

This question has been repeated many times (myself included.).

The answer is elusive. But there are 2 theories. 1) The law doesn't implement for 4. 5 years anyway. 2) The family or boyfriend would have to report her and you.

Draconian law. YES! But I don't think it is going to be enforced right away assuming you and her and in Western friendly hotels.

* - I am not an expert. I did however go to Pattaya this year just in case.
