I was issued an elastic band with a number upon entering the spa. There were dipping pools and saunas, but we did not use the facility that night and instead went to the lounge. The lounge was pretty quiet since there is not much reason for anyone to hang around there. No band playing live music, no girls dancing on stage etc. It is just a waiting area for the mamasan to showcase their girls from their phones. Your post caused me to look up whatever happened to Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, a Jokowi acolyte. A Chinese Christian, he was an efficient governor and deputy governor of Jakarta. He was convicted of blasphemy based on a doctored video tape, and Jokowi wasn't able to do anything to help him avoid prison. He did however appoint Ahok as President Commissioner of Pertamina, the national oil company, upon his release. If Jokowi can't even keep Ahok out of jail on a trumped up charge, doing something substantial about the red tape must be next to impossible.
