This link is all in Bahasa and I am only able to understand part of it. In short, my buddy told me that only married couple can register and check into the hotel. If not, one could be subjected to fines. This sound so dumb and it feels almost laughable. The morality party are just some of the dumbest f#ck.

Any ideas from anyone over there and know anything about this? Or is is it probably just nothing to worry? As always, it will always be an enforcement having blind eye provided these companies pay enough bribes.
That is the reason why people are very worried with religious extremist movements. In Indonesia there are still enough people want Indonesia to Implement Shariah Law. They successfully implements Sahriah Law in one of Indonesian Provinces, The province of "Aceh"
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_criminal_law_in_Aceh

They do not stop it there but instead keep moving forward. Acute opportunists politicians will use them as pawns to get their votes. Keep in mind those religious leaders have a lot of people, masses behind them that could be brainwashed or mobilised for mass demonstration to disrupt or to influence the law makers for very tiny amount of money. Many of these people are in the religious boarding schools or villagers coming from surrounding villages, small cities. These people will be happy to get involve in mass demonstration, they could also vote in the general election.

I didn't read the whole thing but "ancaman hukuman" is threatened legislation, not enacted. It's been a hot topic, on and off, for years now.

Note that there are many areas in Indonesia where unmarried couples really cannot check into hotels, both legally and practically. It's regularly enforced by hoteliers and has even tripped up couples who didn't carry evidence of being married. However, I wouldn't panic This doesn't apply to the regular monger or foreign tourist areas.

    Cheers. G.

I'm chatting with an Indo girl on Telegram and she wants to know how much I will pay her (post earlier suggested that Seeking girls are normally looking for 1. 8 - 2 m Rupiah). I don't want to low ball her (would love to give her a good seeing to), but am wondering where I should place my first bid.

    Any suggestions?
Always helps to remember that these prices are negotiable and, unless you super-lowball her with your opening bid, she'll be willing to negotiate rather than just cut you off completely.

A couple of months ago I mentioned that most girls would be more than happy to get 3 juta for one night with a foreigner and that a guy could get away with paying a lot less, and got criticized by a few other posters for saying so, but I'll stand by what I said earlier. I'll also refer you to the excellent post by Adindas below, where he reminded us that "the minimum monthly wage in Jakarta is IDR 4,416,186".

If the girl is as hot as you say she is and you're that interested in her, then try offering 1. 8 juta (roughly $115 USD) and see how she responds.

How long is a piece of string? There are so many variables that an accurate price can't be given here.

A Instagram model starts at 2. 5 jt ST. A plain Jane from the kampung (village) would be happy with 600 k all night. A happy medium might be 1-1. 5 jt all night. If she is desperate for cash these can all be significantly lower. If she is blistering hot, a lot more.

No offence but being both a newbie and liking her already, she is going sense this and over charge. You can sweat the last $10 or just go have some fun.

    Enjoy. G.

    P.S. Jt = juta = million rupiah.

Indonesians often abbreviate or compound words into shorter versions. Your bo-jak is booking-out Jakarta. There are hundreds of different permutations. I did a post a while back explaining twitter phrases.

She has / had a contract wedding with a UAE guy who gave her a phone for contact. Again, very common where the guy will come to Indo, "marry" a girl for a week or two. Any "support" is then halal and not seen as prostitution by the church or state. It's a big business.

Personally, I wouldn't be concerned. Just take the usual precautions around prepayments, money up front etc.

The mangga besar lockup has a negative 5 star rating. They rate their catches there according to how much they think they can wring out of you to set you free for the misdemeanor they think you are guilty of. KI is a fertile hunting ground for BNN raids.

You have to understand theres a lot of layers to the onion in that complex.

I'd say the place was about a third full, good selection of girls, but I would have placed them primarily in the 30+ age group. Well the ones I remember, I had been out for a few beers with friends before hand. There were some definite lookers and plenty of opportunities.

First girl I spoke to asked for 10 M, burst out laughing, that was an expensive piece of pussy, and when somebody quotes that much I don't even bother trying to knock her down. Chatted with a few other ladies and and then my phone beeped and it was a message from an old acquaintance asking if I was in BATS. A quick look around, and there she was sitting behind me. First picked this lady up over 11 years ago, and used to fly her into KL when I visited there. Anyway, she looked as if she hadn't aged a bit, had an adopted son but no kids born naturally and still looked after herself, so decided to renew an old acquaintance.

A few drinks later it was a very drunken drive in her car back to the hotel for a night and late morning of fun. Handed her a crisp 100 $ bill at the end of it. The same I had always given for her services.

There's definitely fun to be had in BATS, didn't get the chance to visit on Wednesday night, which I am sure is ladies night. They have an expat band, but nowhere near as good as the ones I remember. Wasn't asked to pay an entry fee, which used to be normal with a free drink.
IDR10 m ($650) vs $100 at the same place, well done. 10 mil IDR for many people in Jakarta is more than two months salary. There is no way the vast majority of local people would want to pay that rate.

This is another example how getting well informed do your own desk-work is the best way to avoid getting conned. There are still many people in Jakarta are working on minimum wage, especially those coming from neighbouring small cities, villages. The minimum wage in Jakarta is IDR 4,416,186,
