I'm hopeless when it comes to going to new places (alone) and feeling comfortable in my surroundings.

I have no idea where Hartono is and its mentioned its expensive. I am on a tight budget and even when things are ok, I NEVER pay more than 500K.

I think I will venture to some of the clubs around senayan and try and hit a "ladies night", but there again, it won't be a case of walking in and collecting the "goods" and making a swifter exit.

I've seen one or two local Chinese quite recently in Le Meridian, but a bit on the chubby side if you like that sort of thing.

I thought about reverting back to the good old orginal way. Yahoo messenger, but the directory search doesn't seem to show who is currently online, so it could be a complete waste of time.

Just back from Kartika.

The guy at the counter collected Rp.300,000 from me and said that they have increased the fee wef past 1 month.

This may be true but it does seem strange, as Kartika had increased its house fee from 250,000 to 300,000 rupiah in early June. Normally the MPs in Jakarta increase their house fee when they re-open after the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, meaning in early October for this year.

I just hope that you weren't cheated because Ramadan starts in less than 2 weeks. Kartika and most of the MPs in Jakarta (other than some of the ones in a hotel such as Hotel Malioboro or Alexis) are closed from one/two days before Ramadan until after the Eid holiday is over, meaning that the girls and other staff who work there face at least five weeks with no work and no income. Plus, the girls are expected to leave Jakarta and travel back to their home "kampung" for the Eid holiday (known as Lebaran in the Bahasa Indonesian language) with gifts and cash for their family/relatives.

Thus, many girls become somewhat greedy just before Ramadan starts; this year it begins on September 1st.

By the way, how was your session at Kartika? which girl (or girls) did you choose? did you enjoy your session? Enquiring minds want to know!

In that case, you have more than enough money to both eat well and monger regularly, at least once a day. So, please don't overpay! The going rate for long-term (overnight) for a girl you meet at a place like CJ's (Hotel Mulia), BATS (Hotel Shangri-La) or 30 Bar (Hotel Le Meridien) should be no more than 600,000 rupiah.

try gajah mada spa in jl. gajahmada, old spa but i think 25 % of the therapists are local chinese gals / 2-3 years ago there was a chinese wg here and her name was lanny, or try no 68 in bh spa (local number).

for bordell; try bintang mawar cafe...yes you can easily find local chinese wg here !

or try golden crown discotheque, if you prefer discotheque.

other option to find local chinese gals is mtr 2 in kelapa gading area (branch of mtr in pangeran jayakarta), rate around 500,000 rupiahs minimal...they are freelance in mtr 2...for local rate around 300,000 rupiahs minimal.
* rate for bm cafe 250,000 rupiahs (for girl 180,000 rupiahs and for room 70,000 rupiahs).

note: the local number in bh spa should have been 89 not 68, sorry i edited it !

note: two unrecommended place in jkt based on some reports here...

The northern part of Jakarta is where the the vast majority of Indo Chinese people live. So it's only natural that in that part you'll find the Indo Chinese WG's and FL's.

For a watering hole south of Monas, I've been digging in my memory, but the only possibility I could think of, is a take-away from Hartono. Rather expensive though. Maybe you can try to find/conquer non-WG's/FL's in the posh bar/discoteques In Plaza Senayan, Senayan City or Plaza Semanggi.

I'm just looking for a club/bar where there are FL in plentyfull amounts, but, and this maybe my problem, I only operate between Blok M and Sarinah, and again, all the posts talk about Kota, mangga Dua etc.

So, in short, looking for a watering hole South of monas where indo Chinese are a cert.

You are referring to Kartika Massage, on Jalan Hayam Wuruk just south of the intersection of Jl. Mangga Besar. I've discussed this place regularly for 3 years now, just RTFF my old posts and you'll learn all you need to know.

- your best bet is to get there by 9 or 9:30 p.m. at the latest

- their house rate just increased to 260,000 rupiah per girl plus tip; minimum tip expected by the girls is 50,000 rupiah, so a nice two-girl session will cost you 260,000 x 2 plus 50,000 x 2 = 620,000 rupiah total for a full unrushed hour

- always remember the unwritten rule, that you pick one girl and let her choose who the second girl will be. Otherwise, you risk picking two girls who don't get along with each other or don't work well with each other

- yes, half of the women working here are 30-ish and overweight, but you should find at least 4 or 5 decent looking girls on duty at any given time

- my most recent faves are Cindy and Neneng, but your tastes may differ

Ok I'm sorry to ask this question anyway but I need some help as I am a firsttimer to Jakarta.

The places I would like to go of course are: blok m, bats, cjs, my bar, atrium mall and anything I would have missed I don't think I will have any trouble in finding them once I'm there a few days.

But. I'm trouble in finding a hotel to my budget 300. 000. 350. 000 per night that is on a good location relative to these spots could any of you give me a good option for this? (or is this budget only going to get me really crappy hotels? I've chosen this budget because I get nice hotels for these rates in Thailand). Once I have chosen a hotel should I book through internet or hassle over there for the lowest price myself?

My budget would be around 150k a day for everything I will be there.

Don't choose a hotel in Jakarta based on prices in Thailand!

There are some hotels in the 300,000 to 350,000 rupiah per night but many of them are dumps. Try Hotel Melawai I or Hotel Melawai II both in Blok M, or maybe the nearby Golden Boutique hotel.

The Hotel Caravan near Plaza Indonesia was clean and decent in December 2006 and cost under 200,000 rupiah; however a recent post stated that it's gone downhill.

Please RTFF the Hotels thread to learn more about inexpensive hotels, such as the low-cost places on Jalan Jaksa where the backpackers stay.

Another option would be to wait until you arrive at the airport in Jakarta and check the prices at the "Hotel Reservations" desk near baggage, as you may find some bargains there.

And Smoothy is right, if your non-lodging budget is 150,000 rupiah, then you not only won't be having much sex (unless you are incredibly lucky), you also won't be eating much unless you eat street food or at McDonald's all of the time.

Yers there are some low-priced girls available in the bars on Jalan Jaksa, but as respected Senior Member Bulai69 has written, many girls who you meet elsewhere might refuse to go back to your hotel with you if they hear that you're staying at a backpacker hotel on Jalan Jaksa.

RTFF and check out a post I wrote around 3-4 months ago about having sex with a woman I met at a streetside cafe near the Tanah Abang train station; that's all you are going to be able to afford sex-wise unless you increase your budget!
