I agree with your view on Medan,
For me I had a greater chance hunting in Medan's Mall than Jakarta.
In Jakarta, Bule have advantages than we Asian.
But in Medan, I think the girls just hunger for anyone.
When I was there I visited Medan Fair Mall.
A big new mall which I think a fertile ground for SPG hunting.
Anyway, I was hit with so many SPG, I was dazzled and can't choose one.
I hope for the next visit I'll be more proactive too,
I was testing the water back then.
BTW try Capital Tower, from what I heard it's an adult disneyland

Guys - esp Zero,

Medan is not that bad of a cowboy town. I was surprised to see a proper upmarket metropolitan shopping mall (Sun Plaza) complete with Starbucks and SOGO. I'm also getting too lazy nowadays. I vow that I will be more proactive and less lazy next trip: scheduled May 26th - May 29th. The reason I say this is because I allowed myself to be swayed by others in the golfing party and missed some golden opportunities listed below:-

1. Walking into SOGO at the cosmetic/perfume level always seems to imbue me with an idea what it's like to be a celebrity. You get a tremendous amount of attention from the SPGs manning the counters complete with whispered comments and giggles (must be about my stomach's stunning physique). Apparently it is no mean thing to have a passing resemblance to Northern Indians (Bollywood films are widely watched here). Come to think of it, I recall being collared by a girl in CJs (Mulia Jakarta) who insisted I was Indian before dirty dancing with me - yep I was sold on the idea in oh, maybe 3.5 seconds. Anyway, the rest of the guys didn't give me time to hang around so no time to explore possibilities. I finally talked to one of them on the day I was leaving who insisted that I return and pay her a visit next trip.

2. Matahari department store in Medan Mall. I saw a slightly dark but absolutely stunning woman with beautiful eyes at the Maybelline counter. We locked eyes and I thought whoa there boy. The counter was packed with people so I resolved to drop by a bit later only to have lost her in the shift change.

3. Matahari department store in Medan Mall - again. While queuing to pay for a couple of shirts, a woman I've never seen before calls out and tells me the counter over there (with 5 giggling, grinning SPGs) 'kirim salam'. I was taken aback and didn't quite know how to react (yes, a mistake) because - you've guessed it - by the time I had paid they had gone on shift change. NB Shift change seemed to be around 4.30 - 5.00pm.

Due to these and some other little incidences, I repeat my vow to jump on the opportunities next time. Ok that's all for now. Time to resize my Jakarta and Medan photos for my upcoming FR. 'Til then repeat after me: I will be quicker to seize opportunities that come my way and not let queuing at the cashier or crowds stop me - well maybe just a little, BUT that's all

Sorry your trip didn't work out. Rina could have helped to make arrangements too. Driver could have helped as well. I agree that you were limited by your work schedule - didn't help at all. Maybe next time. We should arrange a trip meet up as well.

MD II, Guys,
I just got back from my Medan's trip.
In short it was a great expirience, but lack of time to monger.
Stayed at Grand Angkasa, which was full book all the time due to
Tsunami volunter stayed there, the hotel is fine, I would give 7 of 10.
MD II, I did call Rina but unfortunately, can't have a meeting with her
because I finish my meetings at around 11 and above.
So I did took your advice and went to the bar/music lounge at the basement
of the hotel called Soccer.
Standard bar, the live music was great but the girls and guys ratio was not good
It was like 3 guys vs 1 girls, so the competition was huge.
Anyway at saturday night the place was not that pack, I would say 75%.
The girls quality was so-so, One girl stand above the other but she was
quickly book by a local chinese medan, having know medan's culture from my
friend (Medan have a close ties with mafia) I didn't want trouble,
so alas I have to let her go. I was there from 11-12.30,
at almost the end of it a girls approached me, she was friendly but not
much a looker (I found out later when I was at my room..not good)
But being a bit tipsy and horny, I just took her anyway, btw her name is nita
she want 400/STI offer 300, but we settle at 350K,
not a good rate by any mean but as I say, drunk and horny.
the deed was just a standard one, she was a 6 in bed.
So all in all, like you said MD II medan has a great potential but unfortunately
I didn't have time to explore it, maybe for my next visit.
BTW MD II, my local friends told me about a place for 1 stop shoping at medan
called Capital building, they have casino, spa, massage, karaoke,etc
maybe I would check them out next time, but let me remind you guys
who want to travel to Medan, have fun but be humble! or your life is in danger.

Finally, I see another post here, and what is it? Someone else asking for help - no I'm not blaming you Zero, just venting my frustration at the lack of participation in this forum. Plenty of women in Medan but NO NEWS?!? Come on guys.

I'm just going to list some suggestions regarding Medan and hope that someone else can add to this:

1. Hotels - there are 3 potential sources in hotels. Not all hotels have all three so use your brain:- the hotel bar/disco, the karaoke/bar, the massage parlour (some are 24hrs). I would check out Grand Angkasa, Novotel, Best Western, Danau International.

2. Karaoke - the universal source, there are plenty around, just ask the concierge.

3. Mall hunting - esp wrt SPGs (sales promotion girls) looks very possible. Everytime I go, they seem to be very flirtatious but I never tried as something had already been planned (even the female golf caddies will flirt with you). I'm sure some of the girls frequenting the malls are also available too.

4. FL sources. I do have a number which may open up more doors but I'm not going to hand it out to members who dont post info themselves.

5. Drivers - taxi drivers or kijang drivers; they know FLs, MPs, Karaoke joints, etc; whenever we go, we normally hire the same guy to drive us everywhere (it costs more but you cant beat the convenience). He's not the best contact for FLs but highly reliable and trustworthy. We have even passed cash for him to hold on our behalf while we played golf directly on arrival (no time to put in hotel safe). At one point he was holding over 20,000,000 rupiahs (not a small amount of money to these people) and nothing got 'lost'.

I just returned from Medan and in the light of my brief visit, I feel I should post something here. Yes it's a dirty place but Medan clearly has something to offer. It's unfortunate that more visitors or locals do not contribute to the wealth of information that must be out there somewhere.

I was fortunate that a friend had arranged something and that his friend brought in another friend who ended up staying with me for 2 nights. She was a pretty petite young thing and I had no qualms passing her 500,000 a night. It was very enjoyable and the GFE was up there with the best once she had warmed up.

Passing through Thamrin and Medan Malls, it occured to me that "mall hunting a la Jakarta" is also very much on the cards here too. I regret not seizing the moment in Thamrin but I guess we all have our regrets. I'll drop some pics in the photo section soon.

I was wondering if you could help me with some research prior to my trip to Medan. I will be going there 29th Nov til 1st Dec and would apreciate any help you could give. I've been there a few times about 2 years ago and need some updates. What hotels have 24hr massage of every type? Is this facility available at the Grand Angkasa? I believe the Best Western offers this. Any advice where to go on Monday and Tuesday night? What other hotels would you advise? Thanks.

Will be coming with some friends and am planning on some good time with Indonesian ladies.

I personally prefer Chinese, but my mates prefer the locals.
I've been to Tanjong Balai twice, where the stock is average but the prices lower than in Jakarta.

The rooms are above average and there is a Night Club on the lower level. There will be plenty of girls around the bar every nigh. Fee for LT is about 400,000 ruphia. I would ask the main desk about golf, as I know there are a number of courses nearby. Greens fees are very cheap.
