Just in Medan tonight before I go onwards to Toba and thought I'd file a report about the Hotel Istana.

Firstly though for those who are not technically minded if you are in Indonesia (or Malaysia) and want to access this site or any other site with the word 'sex' in the address then the government servers here will block your access. The way around it is to use a free proxy hiding service like www.hidemyass.com And then manually enter in the full address on that sites search bar so you can get around the government filtering.

Anyway Istana was a bit of a disaster. There were photos of 30 girls at the reception and I chose no. 43 and advise others to avoid at all costs. She was a real hardened pro and while I wasn't expecting a GFE out of this place she went out of her way to make the experience as unpleasant as possible. It took me the best part of 10 minutes to negotiate with her 300k for 2 shots, a BJ and full sex with a massage in between. She kept insisting on 400k but I stuck at 300k and said no more. I was very near to asking her to leave and going down and choosing another girl and in hindsight that is what I should have done.

I firstly caught a becak from jl SM raja to the termianl Sinabung Jaya. Where all the local buses go to brestagi. There is no terminal perse just a section of the road where all these buses hang out. Cost from medan to bandar baru. 10k. Pretty easy to notice if you look at the street adresses.

Quite a reasonable amount of bungalows to stay at, all very low quality cost 50-90k, if you want hot water the they want you to take a apartment with two rooms costing 250k...

FJ, BJ, condom, room, becak, tips can be all separated. Not only they bully the foreigners, they bully the local too. Normally the local would argue with them. I heard this kind of argument.

Read my fr, don't pay more. If you have a car, can fetch the girl like local, have your own place nearby to the girl street, bring your own condom. The fucking cost is just 150k rupiah per hour.

Ask the staff to take you looking at girls and they claim they all sleeping, they tell you a exaggerated amount of available girls. Quoting close to 100 in 5-6 complexes.

In reality there are about 30 girls in 3-4 houses. The girls are generally younger, but they not very attractive and tend to be the slim but big belly types.

My issues was they the guys were resistamt to take me around, wanting to bring girls to me, and when they did, the girls generally unsuitable, next when I did go around myself, I saw two girls who then the mamy wanted my "agent to come pick her up"

By the time the staff came to pick her up she was gone. Turns out that one gal had gone to see her bf so wanst working, the other was hesitant to see a foreigner even tho I'm Chinese looking.

Then I found out that locals pay 150k for sex without a BJ, if you want a BJ then its closer to 300. The same girl who said she didn't want to go with a foreigner was later told she would go with me but for 300.

By this time I was frustrated and was prepared to go to sleep, but the guy brought me a presentable girl for 200k so I thought why not try.

In the bedroom, whilst she is young and with still acne and the young skin, she had a beer belly and she wanted sex with BJ for 400k, I said dnt bother, the sex was quite bad, star fish, nothing to complain about but certainly not worth recommending. All up for 200k which the staff member gets 50k commission. Even tho it has been claimed he gets no commsiion.

So in summary, go 1hrs from medan stay in mozzie infested rooms just so you can get bad sex for 200k, might as well stay in medan visit hotel istana for a older yet better body girls for 380k.

Maybe I read this wrong, and if so then my apologies. But it reads as though you made a deal on the price for FS, had FS then decided to go back on the contract afterwards because of the performance? If so, not on (in my opinion). Rarely do I given further money than the original deal price unless the service has been exceptional and has gone (almost never) beyond the 'call of duty' so to speak, but even if the service was rubbish the money that was agreed upon for FS to happen is always paid by me, unless I cancel the session before it truly starts (did this once in Indonesia, sending a Girl back due to her antics). Once I'm inside a Girl though, to me the deal is sealed and a rubbish session that may happen from that point on is shrugged off as a rubbish session. If I have read things correctly then that kind of thing could make life difficult for the next Bule who comes along there.

Some Medan updates July 2013.

Hotel Istana the ladies in the 30+ range some passable but overall don't go in with high expectations. Cost 300+80 room charge for FS and avg performance.

Medan plaza. Went there ie Iskanda munda around 9-10pm. Didn't see anything resembling freelancers.

Medan mall. Near China town. Again too busy around 5pm to see anything.

Jl Gaja mada. Went around 10-11. Saw a few but nothing better than at hotel istana so I don't even bother asking price.

Checked out Padang Bulan thinking if they are indeed uni gals they will start earlier. Didn't see one. Was told by two becak drivers that the police have been catching girls and that gaja mada was the deal. I wasnt in the mood to go back at 8-9pm to check again.

Checked out a Gemini on jl Mangkubumi. Didn't see it.

Went to Drush near the Medan plaza. Decent looking girl good massage include HJ 140k.

Checked out Yiu Yiu on jl Biduk and another one on same street 140-150 for massage but not really any decent lookers.

Went to Komp Asia mega mas on jl Asia. Went to Angel reflex 50k for a good massage nothing extra. Also went to King spa. 140k 1. 5hr massage body scrub facial. When came to HJ she asked how much. End up with FS she wanted 300. But as the sex was shit I gave 150. She wasn't happy.

Just arrived from my trip to Medan. First: Thanks for the detailed reports. They were very useful.

I stayed at the Grand Sekura, a nice place to stay for mongerers. Clean, big rooms. I had a room towards the main street. Very loud, but this didn`t bother me.

First night I met a girl from DIA. She picked me up from my hotel and took me on a ride on her motorbike. Nice sightseeing at low cost. Back in my heyday in Indonesia (2005-09) , most of the foreign guys who worked in Banda Aceh would "get out of Didge" and fly to Medan (or elsewhere) virtually every weekend, for pussy but also for a more normal lifestyle (beer, discos, less oppressive atmosphere, etc.)

Considering you have worked there, then you'll know the true situation far better, but just putting out there I heard that foreign Males (if not Muslim) were not subject to the same level of application of strict laws? On the other side of the coin, I did hear rumour among travellers that more than a few young Foreign Women have been barked at by passing locals for wearing shorts or having bare shoulders in BA, and told to cover up. It doesn't sound unrealistic, considering some head up there wearing the same kind of gear they'd be found wearing on Ko Phangan in Thailand, which seems clueless given the known Conservatism of the Aceh region. In some ways I like a challenge, and the thrill that is had when doing this in a place where you're not supposed to is intense, but yeah when snatch can be found not a million miles away down in Medan then 'storing up reserves for later' seems the best policy, far less hassle than potentially creating an 'incident' in Banda Aceh, and was my instinct to go by when in that region.

Banda Aceh is not dry for locals; however, a foreigner caught alone with a woman not his wife, sister or mother faces big difficulties. It is not worth the risk, period.

Do you mean it is dry? Or that a foreigner would not even be able to penetrate any local scene there if it did exist, discreetly, without alerting conservative authorities and creating one hell of an incident? Last year I was in BA (and wider Aceh province) and although not looking for Women at the time, got the impression just from the vibe of the place that if anything did exist there then it was probably 'extremely' discreet and so hidden, a foreigner wouldn't get a look in. Having said that, sometimes the foreign presence creates the demand (not of locals, but imported) in Conservative Islamic Regions. Kabul comes to mind here, with the Chinese Restaurants that had staff who were conveniently young Chinese Women that were known to be serving NGOs, Contractors and other Foreign Staff more than just noodles.

After ages of not even opening up DIA, I started going on all the dating sites in preparation for a potential visit to Medan at the end of this week. Managed to generate some interest and out of the blue, one of the women from Medan came to Kuala Lumpur for a break and shopping. 30 year old Chinese and affluent enough to travel on her own. I managed to catch up with her at 11pm for coffee which ended up at a private location and clothes flew off after chatting for an hour or so. No financial recompense was wanted. Purely for fun. I would heartily suggest that any prospective traveler contemplate using this method as either a plan or a back up plan before going. Clearly there are possibilities out there.
