The last time I was in Surabaya was last year and Dolly was still operational. I stayed for about 36 hours before I flying back to Jakarta.

I only went to Dolly in the evening but during daytime I shopped at Tunjungan Plaza which was about 5 minutes walk from my hotel. It was a gold mine there. Managed to secure 2 STs and a LT from the pussies who worked at the department store and handphone shop. Didn't even bothered to visit the MPs and Spas.

So I do believe that Surabaya is a gold mine just waiting to be explored.

How did you manage to get department store and hand phone shop girls? Any special skills?

Went to Jimmy's last night and it was not crowded at all. Most of the girls there were girls with nice bodies. The manager said that it would cost me to call them over to my table to talk to me. I called one over to get the fill of the price and when she mentioned 3 M I kindly dismissed her. I went on to desperados and the place was full of women. They were all looking and wanted to talk. I struck up a conversation with one and the going price was 500,000 rupees high end 1 m. Not bad at all. The quality of women were better there as well.

You could try Desperados in the ShangrLi. Although it will close at 1 am, not 3 am. Quality in Desperados is hit and miss at best.

Desperado's is currently only open from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. I believe this is through July 18.

You can sit in the Shangri-La lobby bar and spot a few gals looking for some fun. You'll have to approach them. They will not approach you.

I'll head to Desperado's tonight and follow up about any potential options there. Last night it didn't appear they even had a band playing, so might be fairly dead until after Ramadan. Stay tuned….

Why anyone would want to spend time in Surabaya is beyond me. If you have family or friends it's worth a day or maybe 2 max. Jakarta is the Big Durian full of beautiful women and shopping centers that are modern. Prices are moderate for anything you want in Jakarta.

Bali is a great place to vacation and has a unique culture. But it can be expensive compared to the other 2 venues. The women in Bali are country girls, com to the island to make some money to send back to the village.

Go to all three and get the experience.

Thanks. I will be there on the way to Bromo and further east to Ijen, then back to take a flight to Jakarta. I was under the impression Surabaya was a destination for hobbyists. I had read shortly before making my post about dolly but surely the vacuum created by it's closure would have at least been partially filled by now. What about that other place nearby, Barberella? Are there hostess bars in SUB?

Specifics are hard to come by. I guess it's down to me and my personal preference how long I stay but to make that decision I need a starting point from which to form an impression, which at this point in my research I currently don't have. Any further input would be appreciated.

Based on my one experience There I think that they are all full service establishments.
