Further to my previous report I went to Yoshiwara again today for a second look. For those directionally challenged after you exit Minowa station look for a 'why' intersection with a buff coloured overbridge. Looking past the overbridge you should see a Seven 11 about 100 metres down on the left. Continue to the third set of traffic lights and turn left. Go to the end of this street and you come to a 'T' intersection at an oblique angle. Cross the road and start by taking the first on the right. You are at the start of soapy city.

You will need about 4 hours minimum between leaving from and back to Shinjuku to Yoshiwara to be comfortable. Price can start at 24000 currently at Putit Royal, a low to middle cost soapland. However, what matters is the service given by the girl, and that can be as good there than at a higher priced place. YMMV. Darling Harbour, a sister place to the previous one, comes, I think to 28000. I would not pay more than 30000 for a 90 min romp. Which includes mat play, if you want to try that.

Transport: if you can manage basic Japanese, call them and they will pick you up from Nippori station on the Yamanote line, less than 30 min from Shinjuku. I have resided / worked near both of these areas. I can tell you from Shinjuku Station to the next closest station to that area will be just under 45 minutes. If you walk from the station to Yoshiwara, you need to add another 13 minutes of walking to the area. A taxi will take about 3 minutes. A bus will take about 5 minutes + waiting time. You could always say that you wanted to get a cheap tour of the city by taking one of the buses in the local neighborhoods and it took you further than you'd expected. Using GPS threw you off too (wasn't accurate). Honestly, these bus routes can be difficult for us whom don't speak Japanese (finding the right stop / bus #/ direction, etc). When you leave the Soap, they usually will get a taxi back for you to the station. Same for going to the Soap if you use the information cafe, but they are in that area anyway, so you'd pretty much already be there. Also consider a 10 to 20 minute wait for the girl to arrive after talk to the doorman and they sit you down. Prices start at 22,000 per hour for the dirt cheapest, but most likely you will have to find one at 30,000 per hour.
