I finally made it over to Yan Yan and I am happy to report that things are much the same. Granted, they did away with the free tea served before the deed but service remains the same.

That's disappointing. Returning to Japan for first time in over 20 years in March / early April for Hanami. Finding far better deals on hotels than Airbnb which will also be more anonymous. I'm typical gaijin but decently fluent and can usually banter in enough dialects to break the ice so anywhere that ever allows foreigners should let me in. I'm leaning towards staying near Shinjuku / Yoyogi mainly for the cherry blossom viewing but am open to suggestions. I limit it to $150/ night since I'll be out sightseeing and seeing friends and even some family most of the time so being near a good train line is critical.

Might also set up a pipeline on Seeking as it will be one of the rare times I could actually spend extended time doing whatever the hell I want vs escaping a group or family for a few hours. While variety is the spice, getting to really know one or two attractive locals has an appeal.

I'll continue to monitor and will post a report.

Was in Tokyo recently and gave Asian Mystique agency a whirl. Overall very impressed.

Firstly, FS comes as standard in the prices. Whilst they don't want to say this in so many words, I sent an email enquiry and they confirmed this in as close to black and white as you could without saying it. I much prefer this to having to negotiate for "extras" that may or may not be available after someone's arrived. In fact, the service was very much all in. There were a few things they list as "extras" but for me, unless you are into esoteric stuff, all the basics are included. Shower together, DFK, BBBJ, FS.

It's not cheap, but this is Japan, not Thailand, it is a high price country. Though they price breaks seemed a bit odd - 28 K yen for 1 HR, 35 K yen for 2 and 50 K yen for 3, which seems to make 2 hours the best value option (and the one I generally went for).
