It's been quite a while since I mongered in Tokyo. Not really done too much since Sarane's closed down last year, much to the disappointment of many on this board I think. But I decided to try and find a worthy replacement and heard about a place called 'Himawari' (&12402; &12414; &12431; &12426. In Okachimachi. Visited there this afternoon (Sunday 1st July) at around 4 PM. Later I managed to find their website too:

It is a short walk from the North exit of Okachimachi station, on the JR Yamanote Line. Actually there is another Korean massage place called 'Tomato' (&12488; &12510; &12488. Has anybody had any experience at the "Lip" chain of DH shops?

I called the Shibuya shop today and they said gaijin were OK as long as you can speak Japanese.

Just catching up on some reports I have been meaning to write. .

Recently, someone on the forum has been critical of the quality of P4P services in Japan. Well listen to the service I got Saturday and tell me where else you could expect such service.

So what's not to like about P4P in Japan?

Unlike others, I really don't doubt your experience here. Japanese service is certainly top-notch, but a) you can't always expect such service from EVERY Japanese provider, even girls you are regulars with and be) it's not like 'good service' is exclusive to Japan. I've had all sorts of great experiences with providers all over the world, women doing kindnesses for me that were well above and beyond the call of duty, and I wasn't even a regular with them.

What's not to like about P4P in Japan is that for non-Japanese speaking and / or non-East Asians, the barrier to entry to get decent service at a decent price is exceedingly high. I've gone to countries where I don't speak the language, and was able to go into a brothel that is frequented by nationals of that country, pick out an attractive girl and successfully negotiate P4P with her. But even with good Japanese language skill, in Japan it takes either good connections or a lot of trial and error to get good service. For the language-deprived, your choice is either the few delivery health places specifically targeted toward westerners (AM, etc) , which is halfway decent- very reliable, but the eye candy really isn't there, and the service could be better. There's some western-friendly non-FS places like pink salons or strip clubs with extra service which, while novel, aren't fantastic beyond the novelty of going once. Just about everything else that is available is inconsistent or based on trial and error. When I spent time in California, there was a list of Korean girls (and some Chinese, Japanese, Viet, etc) that you could call first thing in the morning and set up an appointment for an hour that day, and if you did your research could have a really hot time for a relatively reasonable donation. Even once I know Japanese really well, I'm not sure that would ever be the case if I didn't have an 'in' somewhere.

So that's what's not to like about P4P in Japan. I know the reasons why this is the case, and that it's probably unlikely to change any time soon, but it's one thing to say "hey if you learn the language, meet a few people and make connections, you can get your needs met" and another thing entirely to say "I get mine, what's the problem?" I mean, I recently made a very good connection that might pan out well for me, but I recognize that it's not something for everyone's general knowledge. And that's the problem in a nutshell. For people new to Japan, or just visiting Japan, it's nearly impossible to know people who know how to get you in. And to say that's not a problem is being a little obtuse, in my opinion.
