Just took a stroll down Yoshiwara Taito, near the Skytree, and boy, what scammers, it is a $1000 to fuck a creature like those that work in sushi restaurants all over New York City. When you enter the red light district from the main Avenue in Taito it looks like all the Redlights in the West, of course, with those Roman columns (all fake shit) and crazy neon lights. Now, at every entrance, and there is probably about fifty *****houses with pictures of little girls, it said 20000 or 30 000 yen which is cca 200-300 $. Then they tell you it is an initial charge and then you have to pay for the girl an extra 500 $ (50 000 yen). They hold us Westerners for idiots apparently. First off, thanks to those that responded with advice for a gaijin's first trip to a soapland. I got in to Tokyo about 6 AM, but wasn't able to head over to Yoshiwara until around 3 in the afternoon. Due to mobile WiFi issues and a poor sense of direction, I ended up walking away from Yoshiwara from Minowa station for about 15 minutes before realizing my mistake. It depends on the place, some places are gaijin friendly, in some places speak fluent Japanese is the key, other places are strictly japanese only and no matter how good you are to speak Japanese they will not let you in.
