Sorry in advance for the long post. I've been trying to find gaijin-friendly places in the Ueno-Okachimachi area, but because I cannot read kanji or speak Japanese beyond a very basic level, I often have little or no idea about the type of place I am entering. So, forgive me if my method is crude. Here are my experiences over many months.I noticed a new place called Momoko open-up where there was once a video box store. I entered but since I couldn't communicate with the guy behind the counter I sumimasen'd and left. That the guy did not kick me out and seemed eager to communicate with me leads me to think someone with the ability to speak Japanese may have some luck here. The website looks intriguing (http://www.h-momoko.com/main.php). Perhaps a delivery health? (Directions to store upon request) I deciphered a sign that had a picture of a cartoon angel dressed in panties and a free-flowing teddy to read 'enjoy' and 'relax' in katakana. After bounding up the stairs I nearly knocked-over an attractive 30-something women sweeping the landing and wearing nearly the identical outfit as the cartoon! She welcomed me in and told me a 45' regular massage for 6000 yen or 45' hot oil massage for 8000 yen. I always go for the hot oil massage. Finally, the man returned and brought me to an apartment one flight upstairs where, to my great relief, I saw a female. Unfortunately, this female happened to be one of the most unattractive (I hate to say ugly, but she was) people I had ever seen. For whatever reason (relief at not being completely ripped-off, thinking with the other head, not wanting to make a scene, etc) I stayed. Hello all, I found a pretty good Delivery Health listing site for the Tokyo area and for other areas. Unfortunately it is all in Japanese, so you have to know kanji pretty well, though using rikaichan or another dictionary tool can help when reading. There are listings for deli health services in many areas of Tokyo. The sheer number of delihealth services operating in the shinjuku, shibuya and ikebukuro is pretty astounding. I have used a few of these places, but quite a few are closed off to foreigners. Keep in mind DH is not supposed to be for sex, but rather for bbbj, cim and sumata.
