I wish I would have know this before I went to Tokyo last year. Visited Yoshiwara twice and both times the girl left a lot to be desired. Service was great and girl was nice and friendly but if I'm paying I would expect better. I pay at least 27000 YEN each time and that was considered cheap. Next time I'm in Tokyo will definite try those agencies.

Yoshiwara is a the biggest joke. Everything is photoshop to the max and there is no line up. Plus if your foreigner you get the left overs! Plus 10,000 YEN normal price. ITS rip off.

Go with trusted agency that deals with foreigners directly. Asian Mystique. Nasty Dolls. THC. MM2 etc. They are pricey / cheaper alternatives but trying to go to the local places with half ass Japanese will get you nothing but sadness.

On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being 100% fluent), my Japanese is at about the 3 level. As a black American male my experience has been, the better your language skills the more opportunities, better service, and closer to local price you receive. On first visits to a place, I initially act like I don't speak the language to guage the staff's response. If I feel I could do better by speaking the local lingo, I speak up. More than 60% of the time I get a better rate. But I do use humor to put the staff at ease, and that might be a part of why I am more successful than perhaps some others. Since you speak the language, check out a few popular Japanese talk comedy shows before you head out for the evening. If the door staff is giving you the gaijin tax rate say, "Oh man don't make me go home and watch (two shows' name) 'because I didn't bring enough money!

Funny, I used to live in Japan for many years, I speak Japanese very well, especially the Shimo-neta style. But I never been to Yoshiwara just because I never needed to. Now that I m no longer in Japan but visit quite frequently I think to change.

My stance and visit Yoshiwara (well, most of my SF got married. Or whatever).

So, nearly fluent Japan with a Gai-Jin face, would that still bind me to the gaijin tax?

Now, I admit I have never been to Japanese soapy. But honestly I steered clear after reading Tokyo Adult Guide. Virtually every Yoshiwara review is that the girl was not as pictured and not as pretty or fatter or the service wasn't great. I suggest you read up carefully before investing there. My firsthand experience with three girls from Tokyo Hentai Club, which is not a soapy, was all three were as pretty or prettier than pictured and delivered as paid for. Asian Mystique gets good reviews on TAG if you get the right girl. Never tried it as THC met my needs.

Generally be careful of thai or filipina looking "girls" on backpage they are more often than not "Ladyboys" either port or pre-op.

Thanks for sharing, Yoshiwara is the best way to have good experience in mongering in Japan. Many brothels are gathered in one place (Yoshiwara). I haven't been to Yoshiwara for a while though I live in Japan. So you paid 20000 yen late in the afternoon, you are lucky to pay that much. I paid 20000 yen when I sessioned early in the morning. The normal price for Gaijin is 30 000 yen when it is not early in the morning.

There are compiled lists of gaijin friendly soapies in Yoshiwara. Plus the guys who run THC have one in Kawasaki. However, not every girl who works at one of these establishments (with the exception of THC's Soapland in Kawasaki) will service gaijin. You basically have to call or go visit and ask. Plus the costs are higher for gaijin. Basically the majority of the upcharges go to the girls as compensation for the added stress.

I don't think I can include competing websites on ISG, but if you search for it you can find the information you're looking for.

I've read the best time for we gaijin to go is non-busy times (weekday daytime). My first choice is still paradise-inn, but I'm considering wandering around yoshiwara with list in hand and google maps in the other.

I have good experience with AsianMystique.

Have found 3-4 girls that maybe was actual for me. Contact the agency, with my wishes and time for meeting, I went for Kaori the first night. She came to my hotel at 23:00 as expected.

Contacte them again, around 13:00, some days later. I would like to have a meeting at 17:00. None of my favorites was working so early, so I refuse the agencys choice for me.

Yoshiwara. Holy Crap it was awesome! Blew every expectation out of the water. I went around 4 pm on Friday March 9 after doing a record-amount of prep work. I got scared reading some of the disappointing reviews and difficulties being a white American gai-jin with very limited Japanese. So I studied the full list of Yoshiwara soapies on the Tokyo Adult Guide and identified the handful that were below 30 K yen and gai-jin friendly. I then made my own Photoshop map to be able to find them by landmark, as I had no hope of locating actual addresses. In the end, the doorman at Nanaiwa, which wasn't even on my list, waved me in with the offer of a 20 K yen 70-minute session. He and 2-3 other cohorts, all dressed in black suits, suggested one out of the three girls they had pics for at the time. They spoke relatively good English and claimed that Michelle was 'young and enthusiastic', and that I should take her. God bless the Japanese because they don't kid around. Michelle may have been one of the most enthusiastic WGs I've ever been with. She was indeed around 20 or 21, with an anime-type body you could kill time just staring at (and a cute face she kept hiding in familiar Japanese shyness. She was super hot-to-trot, and got more action out of me in those 70 minutes than most girls would in two sessions (and I don't hold out!) I believe the idea of having a fun American guy, as opposed to Japanese business men that probably treat her like a school principal, just blew her mind. She certainly blew mine. First, I want to thank all of you that have taken the time to write trip reports and other contributions to the Tokyo forum.

I'm heading to Tokyo in a month. Like 90% of my other trips in the past, the plan is to do the tourism thing during the day and monger once or twice at night. My airline and hotel reservations are already made, and I'll be staying in the Ginza district, about a stone's throw from both Tokyo Station and Kyobashi Station, so using the subway won't be a problem.

I've begun RTFF and I've seen Tokyo Hentai Club (THC) referenced many times. Indeed, if you search on Google for the place, you get slightly over a million results, some with very specific technical descriptions. Since the buzz about THC is overwhelmingly positive here on ISG and online, this is the likely route that I'll go for my Tokyo mongering.

I've seen the discussions about FS / VI at THC here in the forum. But my question is this: how agreeable will the THC girls be to FS / VI if you're willing to pay them tips once you're in the room with them at the nearby love hotel?
