Life is expensive here and there are not so many choices (except the ladies of course

Freebie is easy to come by actually in Almaty, you need to have the guts to approach certain ladies. There is some apartment here renting for moderate price...what is your budget?

Have been mongering for a few years in the western parts of the FSU, and hence I know some Russian language.

Are there no apartment rentals to be had for a week for a moderate price?

    Greatful for any help.

Bring along USD for mongering, April is spring time, bring comfortable jackets or coat...not heavy woollens.

Secondly, what would be the weather in mid-April? Should I carry heavy woollens? Thanks in advance for your advices.

Isn't that the perfect situation to take home some regular girls without p4p?
Hope your next experience is more positive and n/c.

    Pavlador

Stayed at the Irtich(not sure of the spelling) best hotel in Pavladore. About $100 USD per night for standard room. If you ask the front desk girls they will tell you the best 2 discos. I don't remember the names of them but every one we asked named the 2 discos. We just went to one and it was packed with girls but we were the only 2 westerners and I think they were a little leery of us. There is a good restaurant name the Pizza Place but it has a full menu and there were several good looking girls in there. The first night in the Disco 2 young girls tried to pick us up about 11:30 when we got there but we wanted to see what action was really there. Stayed until 2:00AM and although the girls outnumbered the men 3 to 1 they were all regular girls and weren't working. The first 2 girls we met got drunk and left with 2 other guys. We felt pretty stupid at the end of the night when we went home empty handed.
The strip club was named Carabom had 3 dancers but they only danced on stage and they would give you a private 1 hr dance in a little cubicle for $100 USD but no sex. We tried everything to drag one out or get some action in the club but they would not budge.
There has to be some action there somewhere so we will keep looking.

Would you mind to elaborate a bit ? ....which hotel you stayed and what you paid for the room, name of the strip club, looks of the girls and price for drinks and lap-dancings, name of the regular disco and your perspectives about the non-pro scene there, ect.

Could be of great added-value. Any info about this kind of untapped destination is precious.

    Thanks.

A really long way. This is the most boring city in Kazakhstan unfortunately.

Well, the best place to stay in Astana is in Radisson SAS. This is because the price is quite reasonable and they provide free internet usage. To top that, the hotel is near Club Chocalate, one of the best (and only one...i should stress this out..hehe) club in Astana. Astana has a long way to go to be a proper city for tourism.

I'm wondering about the Astana scene as well.

Also looking for a decent pub/bar with or without girls, with decently priced beer, and good clientele to go and watch the odd football match. Any recommendations?

Also, is Kazakhstan big enough to have separate threads for Almaty, Astana, and "other cities"? Save on searching through all the Almaty stuff when looking for AKtau, Atyrau, Astana, or other town/city mongering?

    Cheers

    Extra Charge

Although the Dostyk is GF, they do levy an extra charge if you have booked a single room or are staying on a Company Rate as a single person.
Charge is 2000 Kzt extra, but for this you get upgraded to Business Deluxe Double Room and the girl gets breakfast, so it is reasonably good value for money.
Hotel is nice and new, facilities are very good by Kz standards, but as usual everything is extra.

    Cheers, FF
