I have just spent 3 months in Vientiane and had several good experiences. Stayed at Hotel Lao in Ban Haysoke (Chinatown) for the entire time and had no problems with girls coming up to the room.

Some places are and some are open space. As for the mosquitoes, they are not bad at all. It depends on the time of the year though. If you go during the winter periods, it is pretty nearly non-existant, and during the summer, it can be a bit of a problem. But honestly, from my last trip there last year, I did not see any problems as far I have seen when I went around up there.

I'm aware that you can't bring Lao girls to your room by law so my first question is: do the hotels look the other way or are the girls from one of the neighboring countries? So GF friendly and not too expensive (under $40 if possible). What I know so far is about La Ong Dao hotel which is fully booked for the time of my stay and Anou which their nightclub is currently closed and under renovation according to a report I read. So what; s another decent option?
