Took a small truck driver up on his offer for girls.

First went to some shack-like complex where he banged on a few doors / windows and got no response.

He kept talking about a bowling alley, but I said no.

Then he took me out to a couple houses behind the bus depot. One had two girls in rooms attached to the house. One was a 4-5, but the other a late-20s cute spinner.

Got two rounds out of her. Mossies were a pain though.

Funny thing was she had downloaded Thai porn onto her phone and seemed to enjoy watching it to get aroused.

Paid driver 300, 000 (250, 000 for her, and his tip). Then he asked for another tip when he dropped me off downtown and I refused.

Curious, how did you get there? The bus from the China side (Mengla) didn't look too bad, but it seemed like a long nasty ride from anywhere else in Laos.

There are daily bus service from Huay Xai and Luang Namtha to Meng La / Jinhong (China) which has to stop at Boten for immigration processes.

Otherwise, there is scheduled mini bus from Luang Namtha departing several times a day; but very often it just does not depart due to inadequate passenger.

The road is generally good except half way from Huay Xai to Luangnamtha which can be bumpy.

This border town of Laos and China is thriving on casinos which seems to be the main drive of economy there.

Curious, how did you get there? The bus from the China side (Mengla) didn't look too bad, but it seemed like a long nasty ride from anywhere else in Laos.

The town is in Laos territory but is in fact more like a Chinese small town. Most if not all sign posts are in Chinese and only Chinese RMB is used with Kip virtually not usable.

Action start with sunset there; but you may need to be able to speak Chinese. Go to the area in front of Royal Casino where girls will take turn to hand you business card with the shop name address, phone number and her own number. I walked pass the area 2 rounds and got about 50 cards. The price was 300 RMB per session and the girl would go to hotel where you stay.

The one I took came from Sichuan and was talented in action. Hot & Cold blow job and very nice rimming which made me jump from bed with ecstasy.

There is an area where it is called "Hong Den Qu" or literally Red Light District where those girls work. There is a hotel just next to it called Hong Win (Red Cloud". Room rate was 100 RMB. Food price in town was very reasonable but choice maybe limited.

It was a very enjoyable night in a remote town in this part of the world.

I found one shack with 4 or 5 girls (report before), very friendly, after quite a long walk in the dark. I saw some fairylights further down the road, but was strenuously warned not to go there by the people in the first house.

I am planning a trip to Laos from China May 1st to 9th and from what I've been reading in the forum there doesn't appear to be much action. I was planning on spending one night in Vientiane - I will definitively check out the Bore Pen and the disco at the Don Chan Palace.

I am planning on going to Veng Viang as well and for a town with so many foreigners, many of them drunk at all times, there doesn't appear to be anything interesting from a mongering perspective.

Has anyone been there recently and can comment?

There is a major brothel area east of the main road and bus stop, with lots of chicken shacks with girls available for 1000 baht. However, there is a sign up on the road there that says "off limits to foreigners". I rode a bicycle up there some years ago and of course ran into all the local police hanging out at the brothels! They didn't seem to mind my presence and wanted to know which girl I thought was the hottest.

That said, I have heard a few stories as of late about foreigners being busted and bribed in town in VV after they have been set up by a girl.

After 3 nights in Vientiane, came here by Lao Airlines to meet up with 2 friends. Domestic fares not cheap, round trip Vie-LP-Vie cost about 160 USD for a short flight on ATR turboprop.

We did the normal tourist stuff in the day time, the cave day tour was nice. Sunset Mekong cruise was also nice. But the night came, hunting for a nice lady was not easy in this tourist town.

All these tuk tuks on the streets will ask you lady lady when you pass by. But when we actually tried we realized how bad the scene is here.

We first used a very friendly maybe over friendly young tuk tuk driver, he was bragging he knows many places packed with gorgeous and fresh meats. So we followed him and only to see a few wooden brothels and bamboo shack karaokes with a few really unattractive girls that wanted 50USD for ST. We know this is a price and quality for very desperate men, so we passed. Paid the tuk tuk 6 USD for some dark alley sight seeing.

Next night again some over friendly tuk tuk driver wanted to bring so-called very beautiful girls to our room for viewing, he said "no like no pay okay". 10 min later he brought 3 girls to us, if these are so called very beautiful then we probably can screw a skunk in the forest. He insists have some more and wanted to show us. Then 10 min later he brought again 3 very mediocre ones, one friend already gave up and went to the night market, so I and another friend decided just to take one each, thinking unattractive girl may provide excellent service. The tuk tuk man tried to dig 50 USD a piece out of us, he probably would keep 30 USD for himself. We insisted to pay him 15 USD for intro and we pay the girls 30 USD ourselves. He wasn't too happy but take it or otherwise no deal.

My little skinny girl turned out to be okay. Good bbbj, very wet and actually moaned and moaned. Gave her another 3 USD for tuk tuk back to her home or shop, or whatever.

The last night in LP, we passed on the hundreds of invitations for lady lady and concentrated on tourist stuff. We drank in a river bar, then we went to bar on main street and bought some souvenirs in the night market. Actually felt better than sex.

Why would we trust you on it? If you have personally experienced trouble or had a close call, please tell more.

Mongering is illegal in many places (Thailand included) -- it's good to have more info on what _actually_ happens.

What happens to one person mightn't happen to another. Go on the premise with trust that something will happen. As you say, it's illegal. But, so is soliciting bribes. Why not find out for yourself? Staying in a place where the guy working it thinks he's running the guesthouse at the end of the rainbow, doesn't make for a happy stay. In Luang Prabang. When you find GF lodging, kindly report back. Enough said.

I was in VV in February. A lot of caucasian kids drinking, tubing, mating, doing what they do in any other party place. Around the town is some stunning scenery, spectacular -- worth visiting just for that. At the local disco on the other side of the disused landing strip, local girls are friendly there and will take an interest in you. In general, no, VV is not a prime sex-tourist destination. Watch out for ladyboys in the Bore Pen, a place where the hookers are fairly hardcore. The Inter City next door is a good place to stay, and is Girl-friendly.

This town is in fact not as calm in xxx activities as many thought; if you know where the activities are.

But just as mongering in any upcountry town, if you do not speak the language or Thai, things will be more difficult.

There are several gueshouse, hotel, resort out of town which have 10 or so girls available. Rooms at these hotels can be used fir such pripose or you can take the girl back to your place as well. 2 that I remember the name being : Pele & Erawan. At these guesthouses, there are shacks to let you drink beer and chat with the girls and rooms for rent; all in one place.

Also, there is a night club call Kaewthip out of town on the main highway which has hostess girls who accompany you for drinks and if mutually agreed; to go back wih you. The place close by 11:30 pm and the girls cannot leave the place before closing. ST price was 1,000 Baht and LT 2,000 Baht; do not overpay !

Have fun and please report back should anyone visit this town.

I spent 11 day there in late January while visiting my girlfriend & for what i saw there si nothing there.

I had lots of time during the day while GF was at work & the massage places i went to were all legit & nothing presented itself to me when i cruised the streets alone during the day & a couple of evenings.

I would suggest to others to pass on this place,cross the border back into thailand & try your luck in Mukdahan.

There's a big night club -- Daofa -- across the street from the Stadium and the southern bus station. It's a party place/disco for young Laos with a few foreign tourists thrown in. Night I was there (a Thursday) freelancers started turning up around 10: 30. $50 the standard quote. Lights come on and the place closes at 12:30 sharp. From there tuk-tuk with some girls over to late bar for food and more drinks before going to your.... Hotel? Guesthouse? Jail cell? Yes, there's a rub. And, it is a crime to bed down in LP with your Lao lady. ($500 fine and who knows what else.) Be prepared to wind up in a sceevy place or else head to your hotel and a royal hassle, the kind that you don't want. Trust me on that one. The Daofa is fun but you need to have a secure, good place to go to with your date lined up in advance.

What a change this is from Siem Reap! There is absolutely nothing here.
I arrived around 11:00 AM, checked into the Pakse Hotel and then went walking around, you can see the whole city in a few hours. Not a bar, not a club, not even a karaoke to be seen. Back to the hotel to rest waiting for it to get dark and then give it another look. I walked along the river and while there were a lot of people they were just eating, no one just hanging out and no place with anything that looked like it had potential. I then walked up and down most of the streets and again nothing, the place was dead.
I asked several mottos and tuk-tuks about finding or getting a girl but was told they didn’t know of anything. When I returned to the hotel I asked a tuk-tuk guy outside and still nothing. I went inside to ask at the front counter but there was a girl there so I hung around until a guy showed up, still nothing. I called it a night.
The next day I thought I’d give it one more try and spent most of the day walking around asking mottos and tuk-tuks until I’d had enough. Walked into a travel agency and booked a seat on the next bus out of town. I left that night to Vientiane.
