I will be staying in Savannakhet for 7 days at the end of January & is there any kind of action there or do i have to go back to Mukdahan thailand?

I was staying at the mekong hotel. It is just on the river bank, very big, nice and comfortable rooms.

It seems a vietnamese enterprize, as the receptionist girls are dressed in the nice ao-dai, in the hall there is an enormous vietnam map, the visiting card and advices are all written in vietnamese as first language, expept me all the costumer were VN.

BTW pretty cheap.

At the antrance I ask the receptionist girl if I can get guest in. she fakes doesn't understand (a polite way of saying no I thought).

In general a nice relaxed funny atmosphere. finding a farang for them seemd to be fun, trying to speak that little english they know. many many girls there, all vietnamese. all pretty young, some very young, some very cute, some smiling.

Small room, no a/c, small shower cabin, uncomfortable massage table.

Even if Thakek is a very small city, it is not difficult at all to find action.

1- Everywhere they accept thai baht.

2- The MP on the river coast are legit, even I understood you can agree with the small cute masseuses to meet after closure

3- Hotel massage are vietnam style. Action definetely available at extra price. 500bt for MP other 500 or 1000 for extra work

4- Nightclubs are easy to spot in the night from the lights.

5- Ladies are available for LT (usual 1000-bt) but be careful of staying in a girlfriendly hotel

Planning a over-nite trip to Laos (Savanna Casino, about 1 1/2 hour drive from Vientiene) are there ladies available in or around the casino or should I bring someone from Vientiene?

Have been to the casino before, female dealers were average looking as were the waitresses....definitely not Vegas!!! The best lookers were the caddies but didn't try to make any deals with them as I was only hitting the casino for a few hours!!

Best house is now, first on left as you enter but quality has dropped with only two girls working. One girl, I recognized from before but the enthusiasm was gone and no extras (BBJ) available. Price same at 150, 000 kip but this time, I just took tuk tuk to Phonsy Market and walked a couple of blocks.

Best to probably "bring your own" from Thailand. Make a "honeymoon" out of it. LP is a great town but not for mongering.

I was back in Vang Vieng recently, but didn't have opportunity to trek the mud path to the girls. I happened upon a Lao party at Island Bar, some Buddhist festival. Lots of beer, nice live Lao rock music, skinny grey-haired dude playing electric guitar. A pleasant enough fat girl motioned me to sit down at her table, they pass me a glass with ice and beer, the glass doesn't get empty. She tells me she's from Vientiane, came for the party. I gave her 20K kip (about 80 baht) for beer money (didn't have much).

I got up to dance, people also pouring beer for me while dancing. The fat girl comes to dance with me, and after a bit of hopping around she pulls me off to one of the little bungalows around. She locks the door behind us, starts kissing me. I kiss her a bit then say sorry, I have a girlfriend. She says she needs money to go back to Vientiane (really?!). I say OK, bus ticket is 30K kip, that's about 120 baht, here you go .. she pulls a face and says she wants 1000. I say I'd be happy to pay that if we had sex. I rather felt like asking her whether she has any prettier friends, but I wasn't really in the mood for a screw.

following brenno and asshole's masterful reports, i walked out to the lady houses in vang vieng just after dark one night. one little detail that does help things along is the fact that the houses are draped with fairy lights. i stood in the doorway of the first one. there was a little family group eating dinner around a table. the mother motioned me to come in and sit down, which i did at a vacant table.

an energetic little boy of about 5 brought me a glass of water, and then played at shooting his little plastic gun at me, and was soon crowing with glee at getting attention. a girl of 8 or so served me a beer lao. meantime the dinner proceeds, the group is the older woman and 5 or 6 young girls. they sneak looks at me and giggle. mama comes to make sure i want a girl. i do. a older guy also emerges from the back of the shack. at one point a girl calls him father, at least if the word is the same as in thai.

we settle on 1000b for short time on premises, talking thai. dark and rustic. afterwards i go wash up from a barrel on muddy bricks under the stars. the girl was actually really friendly afterwards, bringing me a much-used towel and showing how i should wet one corner to use as washrag. on my way back in i banged my head, my first thought was that i'd hit one of the rusty tin sheets of the shack, but looking up i saw not one but two big satellite dishes. i'd hit my head on one. different priorities.

leaving in good spirits, i set off in the direction of the other blinking fairy lights, further up the road. but mama called me back urgently and frowned, shaking her head, and i got the impression that i would not be welcome there. i called it a night.

the little town itself is absolutely crawling with tourists.

Luang Prabang still seems to be a no-go area for this activity. [...] The only place I did not check out was a night club about 3-4km from the centre of town. the Daofa Night Club

According to the tuk-tuk who drove me to a ladyhouse in the new part of town, there should be girls at the nightclub.

The ladyhouse had only 1 girl at that moment. Bananaleaf walls, a couple of cubicles inside. Some cops or army dudes came in as I was getting my bearings, deciding whether to go with the girl. Almost had a heart attack, quietly, but no one seemed to be getting upset. So I just pretended I'm invisible and did the girl in the cubicle. She seemed sorry that I didn't take her with me. No wonder, the cubicle is pitiful. She didn't even have toilet paper handy afterwards. And it's damn dark. Starfish during the deed, but actually very kind and sweet. Nuu, mouse, if that's the same in Lao ..

1,500 for her, and 200 for the tuktuk, who waited for me. Not really value for money, but just to find what's out there. I got the tuktuk right outside one of the painfully hip old town farang bars crawling with feminists and wholesome young men, ready to lecture you about aid or kayaking or whatever.

New place for mongering and gambling at BOTEN, this town will be " Laos Vegas " as Macau. Now both fo Chinesse WGS there, still young , early 20's, could find in front of Casino and Hotel. Slim.. an pretty one.

Boten is near china border with Laos ( Nord ). should be try.... waiting for report from mongerer.

Best quality seems to be first house on right as you enter. Young enthusiastic spinners, with bodies at a solid 9.

Quite rustic accomodation. Better apply mozzie repellant prior to excursion. 150, 000 kip for ST, tip for BJ.

Watch your tuk tuk driver. They may hustle girl for commission or try to change transport price. Have correct change for tuk tuk.

To go, just tell tuk tuk driver "boom boom lady".

What a dump. Avoid like a plague. The place is a crossroad for European backpackers. What chaos, just what NGO’s have always dreamed of. Would anyone agree that woman backpackers are among the most unattractive women you have ever seen, and I have seen many? And what is the new trend with all those older single women going around by themselves. What is it with them? Men may have other agendas but what is it with these women wandering in the world of wilderness alone.

Stay away as far as you can from Louangnamtha but if you ended up being there you could stay at Adounsiri Guest House. From where you get off the minivan from the bus station (10,000 Kip fare) walk back about 100 meters and turn right on the road facing the Western Union sign. Turn right again and there is the Guest House, 45,000 Kip per night. Actually, all other Guest Houses are the same in poor quality and poor service and prices ranged between 70,000 to 50,000 Kip. Keep in mind that their hot water systems run on solar and that means no hot water in the morning or evening. Sometimes, only during a short period in the afternoon to take a warm shower. I guess there is another guest house down the road from Adounsiri with similar service and quality for 25,000 Kip.

Where to eat? Please try not to eat! Fast to loose some weight. I am serious, don’t support those local sob for more than they deserve. One percent of the town’s locals receive 99% of the tourism money and the service and quality are terrible, d*m*d backpackers. I fund a Chinese eating-place a couple of blocks up from the tourist trap area. For the same price it was much better in quality and portion that’s if you knew how to place your order in Chinese kitchen, no menu.

If you ended up being in Louangnamtha I suggest you don’t inquire about anything because it is a close watched community and words could fly by fast. Your best chance would be to find out where backpackers are going and then go 180 degree in opposite direction but that would be impossible because the backpackers are in every direction. Even with adding a few km trekking you wouldn’t be safe. If you had time and were really dispread, go up by the border. I was quoted 200 Yuan but couldn’t stay up that late at night to see what it was like. The ride of going to the border is 22,000 Kip.

What a change this is from Siem Reap! There is absolutely nothing here.
I arrived around 11:00 AM, checked into the Pakse Hotel and then went walking around, you can see the whole city in a few hours. Not a bar, not a club, not even a karaoke to be seen. Back to the hotel to rest waiting for it to get dark and then give it another look. I walked along the river and while there were a lot of people they were just eating, no one just hanging out and no place with anything that looked like it had potential. I then walked up and down most of the streets and again nothing, the place was dead.
I asked several mottos and tuk-tuks about finding or getting a girl but was told they didn’t know of anything. When I returned to the hotel I asked a tuk-tuk guy outside and still nothing. I went inside to ask at the front counter but there was a girl there so I hung around until a guy showed up, still nothing. I called it a night.
The next day I thought I’d give it one more try and spent most of the day walking around asking mottos and tuk-tuks until I’d had enough. Walked into a travel agency and booked a seat on the next bus out of town. I left that night to Vientiane.
