I am off to Luang Prabang for a couple of weeks. Any new information, do's and don't or even contact names / numbers?

This is most likely Hive Bar. Best place to pick up Farang girls in town.

It is nice place for a good rest. No problem on the road. There is a bar (?) near the bus stop. You can find actions there.

Vang Vieng is about a two to three hour drive (about 150KM) North from Vientiane.

Where is Vang Vien/Vangviang in Laos I looked on lonely planet and it not listed on their map. But it does say there is trouble on the road between Vangviang and the capital.

There are several hostess bars around on the outskirts of town but they aren't super accomodating for foreigners. But I think if you are gentlemanly they'll service you for about 25$. One guy I met was in there but then he started being kind of obnoxious and they cancled his negotiations.

About 20 minutes drive towards Vientiane there are a couple of brothels in a small little town. The locals call the little strip Saigon, so perhaps they are Vietnamese girls. I didn't go there but a local guy I was hitching a ride with pointed it out.

They are right along the road and late in the afternoon you can see the women out front brushing their wet hair. You can actually see them all over Laos and they are marked with the yellow Beer Laos flags all across the front of the shop and the women loitering out front to track down truckers and such.

Let me know if you need more detail or post if you have an experience there. I did not.

Luang Prabang: well you might be in for a do it yourself job!
I found very little action in LP, however there is some at a mainly Laotion disco (I think the only one in town, so ask a tuk-tuk driver to bring you there). In general there are only a few girls (on teh dance floor, you have to find out who is a hooker and who is not).

Vientiane is definitely the better place for sex.
