    Chicken Ranch

Okay, so I kept thinking all day. I have come all the way to LP. Who knows when I will come back, if ever. If I don't try, I will always wonder what I missed. So I went back tonight around 6:30 PM. Rode up to the shacks, acted cool, and slowly parked my bike while scoping around. I braced myself and walked to three doors on the left side of the complex and looked in. Most of the girls were just average. So I finally picked one. She did not know a word of English. I just pointed to her and gave a thumb's up. She let me to her room which looked like a pig sty or barn (really) with wooden planks as walls, and not even closed up. There were gaps and anyone could peep through it. Needless to say, there was no AC, only a fan. I tried to ask her how much but she could not understand. So I gave her 200,000 kip. She took it and went out, probably to give to the MMS. She came back and started undressing. So I did the same. As soon as both of us were naked and sitting on the thin mattress on the floor, she became very friendly, smiling and playing with my dick. She snuggled up to me and tried to kiss me. I was initially surprised as my experience with these type of providers was they don't kiss. I responded with lip kissing. I was not going to do any French as I was unsure of her hygiene. She did have a pleasant body smell. So was her long hair. So I felt more at ease. I asked, she did not do BJ. After a while she produced a condom and asked me okay? So I guess some, maybe the locals, don't use condom. Of course I said yes.

Sex was nothing special. She did a lot of cowgirl, then mish, then back to cowgirl, then mish again. I took a while to pop but she was very patient. No one knocked at the door to indicate time up. When I was done, I felt the compassion to give her a tip. As I was feeling for my wallet in my pocket, I felt my phone, and on a spur of the moment, asked her if I could take a photo. Remember, she did not speak English and I didn't speak Lao, so all communication was in sign signals. Surprisingly, she smiled and posed. I took one, pretended it did not snap, and took another which I showed her. She was very pleased with her photo. I was going to tip her 50 k but felt so pleased that I gave her 100 k. I know that's a lot but I knew it made her day. She broke into a big grin and kept hugging and kissing me.

When I came out of her shack, I saw two stunning beauties who were not there earlier. They might be with customers then. Isn't that always the case? Seeing the better looking ones after you are done? I may come back tomorrow which will be my last night in LP. I cannot imagine doing it during the day when the temperature reaches 100 F.

I tried to upload the photos but the files are too big. I have to reduce the resolution but right now I am in the lobby of my hotel which is the only place with working WiFi. I am too embarrassed to have naked photos on my screen. I will have to go back to my room to work on it and post tomorrow. Sorry.

    Luang Prabang

I arrived in LP on Saturday. Yesterday (Sunday) I rented a motorbike and rode to this 'chicken farm'. I had no problem getting to the place because of the great directions given on this board. However, I could not find Ban Hao Night Club. There was a closed KTV by another name in the same area. I went there twice.

The first time was around 2 PM. I did not see any patrons and was not sure if I was at the right place. There were other businesses and homes in the complex. I did see several girls with the obvious dresses and makeup riding motorbikes or walk in and out of the complex. I sucked up my courage and rode up close to the buildings. No one smiled, waved or called to me like in other RLDs. I did get stares from lots of men and women.

I did not see the 'hotel' on the left. I did see a large covered car park with several large golf-cart looking vehicles parked inside. Behind this building but accessed by another road was a large open-air produce market. I saw several 'dressed' girls walked to the market from the back of the buildings to buy drinks or something.

I went again at 7 PM when it was dark. Again I did not see patrons going in or out. The place was not very brightly lighted as I expected nor had the usual pink or red light bulbs.

If this is the right place, I must take off my hat to you guys, especially you Farangs, for patronizing this fleapit. You must have guts of steel to walk up to the complex amid all the stares from the locals. I also question the hygiene of the girls. The complex does not look like it has clean water to bathe / wash, and the beds, sheets. I would do the girls if I can take them back to my hotel and make them bathe first. But my hotel is too far away and I don't speak a word of Lao.

Please don't get upset. I am not being judgmental, just my personal opinion.

One more thing. The shop I rented my bike from told me that it's against the law to ride after 8 PM. The fine is 1 million kip. Is that true?

    Help with Luang Prabang

I will be in LP on April 4th for 3 nights. I have read all the Laos Threads and found very little info on LP. Even those are outdated. If you veterans do not wish to discuss publicly, please PM me. I will be discreet. Thanks.

    Boten

Boten is almost all dead, all casinos are closed. There are lots of talks turning this area into another special zone, but talks remain talks when money is not coming, I doubt it will take place any time soon. There are still people coming here looking for business deals. I even saw Russians and Ukrainians, they seem to have some kind business connection to these areas from before.

Most the ladies are also gone, but there are still some left to serve the people passing through or coming for business, but the once wide open karaoke, bbs, ladies roaming the casino scene were all past memories.

My van driver from Luang Namtha called a few pimps to find a few ladies for my viewing, I found one nice Hmong student girl, good firm slim body, she let me feel her merchandise, and showed me her clean little pubic hair beaver in my van, but she want 100 USD till morning, no bargain, later she told me the pimp gets 30 USD, I think the pimp also needs to give a tip to my van driver as well.

The girl still very fresh, BBBJ was a little too short, but could see she still enjoys sex, I almost could not resist stick it raw to her, but got a hold of myself in the last moment. She said she gets about only 1-2 customers a week. I picked another ethnic Chinese girl the next day, only had ST for 300 yuan, nothing to write about.

There are still some actions here, but you need to rely on pimps, the ladies are not on open display anymore, Luang Namtha or even Udomxay has more activities than Boten nowadays.

I heard from various people that across the Boten border on China side, there are still many karaokes and bbs operating just like good old time in Boten, I even heard it from an Ukraine guy I talked to here. I will investigate next trip when I come back northern Laos. Have to go Hong Kong to renew my one year Chinese business visa so I can get in China.

Got some bad news, about Boten, for you RCA.

The whole town has gone, yes gone!

I was up there in January and there's nothing left. The whole place has been bulldozed. As in it's no more – there's nothing left.

Well not strictly correct, there is something left. Do you remember the open truck and trailer parking lot just down the road from the town? Well, that's now expanded to take over all of the leveled land where the town once was.

Although I'm not a fan, you could see what's on offer in and around the truck stop. But if it was me, coming in from Oudomxay I'the take the left at the roundabout and head straight to Luang Numantha.

    Good luck with your projects.

    In Savannakhet

Came in from Vientiane landed safely. My second visit to this city, to visit my long time Swedish friend who is now working for a Lao financial company.

He is family man so I went night hunting myself. This city is really dead at night, I chartered a jumbo to see some lady houses. It's pretty close to the Nong Khai Udon version, I did not partake, because I simply cannot enjoy the atmosphere at this stage of my life, I saw some okay girls that I would have done them 10 years back.

I found a karaoke pick up right next to Hong Thip hotel, there were about 20 girls, some were very doable, the system is something like you order some drinks and get lady to sit, you pay a fee for sitting, I asked 2 ladies to sit, and 2 beers, the bill came 90000 kip, and the body fee is 1500-2000 bahts depend on the girl.

I did take 1 girl each night from here, both asked me 2000 bahts, but able to come down 1500, both were fresh I think, very tight and wet pussy, and new to the trade, but as you expect, no such thing as service, but the low mileage makes up for it somewhat.

There are very little choices for food, some nice European foods, but pricey, I see lots of Thai visa runners in town, I am glad I mostly now stay on this side of Mekong, I cannot stand these Thai yellow monarchy fascists and their private army, it's disgusting what's going on there.

Anyways, Savannakhet can be boring for younger folks, but for me it's a nice place to lay back watch the sun set on Mekong, and hang out in local places to look for the young and fresh regular girls, I will try to score some nice homely girls, I can afford to be a cheaper sugar papa here, I have my sugary budgets.

After a week here or so I will make my way up north again until the Chinese border Boten.

Phonsavan, Xam Neua & Oudom Xai

In all three towns, for various reasons, I wasn't able to partake.

Given the number of falangs (foreigners) passing through Phonsavan as well as a reasonably large military presence both in town and just to the south, I would be amazed if there wasn't a considerable demand. And where there's demand there will inevitably be a supply – somewhere. I'm just not sure where. On a previous trip to Phonsavan I had to wait twenty four hours for a massage girl to become available due to a military conference in town. The massage was great but no offer of any extras. On this last trip here I wasn't able to chase any services but they should be easily located either by booking through your hotel or using the advice below.

This year was my first trip to Xam Neua but I was stuck traveling with the same group of locals and wasn't able to chase any after hours entertainment. Whilst remote, the town is certainly big enough and with a fair size Public Service it should be able to support a reasonable sized mongering industry. Given the size of government departments, local government and its proximity to the Vietnam border prices, may be higher than expected. From what locals tell me falangs are a bit of a novelty these days. Not sure if that will work for you or go against you. But given the proximity to Vietnam I was surprised at the lack of Vietnamese in the community. Same as Phonsavan, try booking through the hotel or using the advice below.

Oudom Xai seems to me to be the biggest of the three towns, however, its proximity to the Chinese border makes the circumstances a bit different. I couldn't find any street front massage places nor could I order a massage through the hotel. The town is full of Chinese traders and truck drivers so there would be services, somewhere. Again, once the sun goes down all of the tuk-tuks disappear so it's back to the advice below. I could have done with some company in Oudom Xai but for the record I wound up having very quiet and lonely nights. Even the room maids were starting to look pretty good by the third night.

I even spent a night out at Muang Khua. You'll need a good map to find this place. There were a few tourists in town but no tuk-tuks, even during the day. I tried enlisting the help of some local mechanics. Even they couldn't come up with anything that sounded remotely like fun.

So, here's my advice when you first hit a new town. Despite most of these regional towns being a fair size the tuk-tuk's seem to disappear as soon as it gets dark so I suggest that you need to be a bit organized when you first arrive. Shop around for a driver who has a reasonable understanding of English and then try him with the universal sign for sex – form an 'O' with your left fingers and thumb then dip your right pointer finger into 'the bowl'. If his eyes light up and a wry smile appears on his face then get his mobile (cell) number. Give him a card from your hotel and tell him you will call him later.

Then its just a matter of having a leisurely dinner and pulling out your phone. If you don't have one then get the hotel reception to call the driver. You won't need to be embarrassed asking them to translate because your driver already knows what you'll want. And I guarantee he will be at your hotel in no time.

    Good luck with your projects.

    Vang Vieng

Good news and bad news from my recent visit to Vang Vieng.

The good news is that there are now about eight separate shacks operating with the addition of a shop and a hairdresser. So it looks like this area is here to stay and it's being tolerated. All the coloured lights look pretty too – if you're into that.

Note that the bulk of the shacks are on the road running to the right of the dam. There is also one operating from an old restaurant built over the dam. It's accessible from the road running to the left hand side of the dam. It's got the inevitable coloured lights so you can't miss it.

See report 83 for directions on how to get here.

One more thing is that aside from the increase in shacks and an overall increase in numbers it looks like the tiddlers have been squeezed out so it'll be pretty safe for falangs to pay a visit.

The bad news is that there doesn't appear be an increase in quality. And prices haven't dropped either. Expect to be quoted 300 – 400 k. A final payment of 250 k shouldn't be hard to achieve for ST. Not sure that I'd want to wake up next to any of those I met therefore I didn't ask about LT.

I have friends in Vang Vieng so I didn't partake and on the last visit didn't regret the missed opportunity.

    Good luck with your projects.

    Luang Prabang V2

Oops. Loaded the report while the site was down for a light refurbish and it looks like the text disappeared into the ether. So, let me try it again.

Appologies for being a bit slow on the reports promised for earlier this year but here they are now.

Growtec was right about his little find. It's a real 'chicken farm' or chicken ranch' and it's not little. If you're in town and feeling up to it then this place is well worth a look. First, I'll tighten up on the directions.

Head west out of town along Sisavangvong Road which becomes Photisalath Road after the round-about at Kitsalat Road. About 1.8kms from the round-about you will find the big Phosi market on your left. The market is on the corner of an un-named street – turn left down this un-named street. Now, look for the night club, Growtec mentioned in his post. It's about 400m down this street, on your right. Take the next dirt laneway on the same side.

If you get to Manomai Road on your left then you've gone 30m too far.

About 50m along this dirt laneway the area opens up with the shacks on your right and the 'slightly better than roach hotel' on your left. Despite the looks from some of the locals it seems quite safe to visit here after dark but I'the only be carrying just enough money in an old wallet in case you and your wallet are encouraged to separate.

I concur with Growtec on the experiences but I'the be wary about taking any of the girls back to your hotel. The light is not great in these shacks and it would be easy to miss the obvious signs of a tiddler that you would ordinarily throw back. I didn't try a daytime visit.

Google maps defines the area as location 19. 874795, 102. 124839 if that's any help to you young techie mongers.

    Good luck with your projects.

    GF Guest house Luang Prabang

Just noticed dicussion regarding taking girls back from shacks. As per my report in Feb 2013, I did negotiate a young girl for around 200k kip for an hour. I'm pretty sure the guest house was called Rattanakone. Small family run. Was on Agoda but not sure if its there now.

Spent a few nights in Luang Namtha. The number of karaoke pick ups has increased a lot. There are spread out so need to charter a jumbo for a night.

The business overall was very good, lots of Chinese and local groups come in small groups and many foreigners come in Range Rover or Land Cruiser.

All shops have small number of girls, about 4-10, so if some group come they may take all the girls away for all niter. One night saw one Chinese group of 5 took out all 8 girls from the shop, packed them into a mini van.

The price also has risen 2 folds. The girl level down, because many have gone to work in Vientiane. I took 3 LT from 3 different shops, price very hard to bargain down, because of big number of Chinese, rich locals, and many NGO looking cars as well. I paid between 65-85USD LT.

Disappointed because could not get any good service in Laos any more. The good old gf fun now only in memory.

The dirt road might be hard to find but it's on the same side right after the nightclub and karaoke.

    Good hunting!

Yeah, I'm sure locals pay a lot less. I think you could take the girl out but the trouble would be getting her back to your hotel (most won't let prosti's in). I never tried where I was at. The price did include the hotel as well so not terribly bad.

They do not speak english at all from what I saw. Good hunting!

    Luang Prabang

    Hi Growtec,

I was in Luang Prabang late last year and struggled to find anywhere to keep myself entertained. I did manage to pick up a couple of willing partners from the Dao Fah night club but man, it was a slow process. You need to get there early to scout out potentials as they arrive, carefully avoid boyfriends who might turn up later, do some dancing, buy some drinks and the when the night club closed around 1am I found myself having to head to the local bowling alley to shell out for even more fun before finally heading back to the hotel around 3am for some entertainment of my own. The end result was OK but unfortunately the alternatives were worse, far worse.

I'll be in Luang Prabang in a month or so and given the dearth of places to satisfy the itch in this lovely little town, I'm keen to check out your discovery. With the very basic conditions and mainly Lao custom it would seem that you've hit on one of the locals own 'chicken ranches'. Yes the cost does seem comparatively high but I suspect it's a combination of an added 'barang margin' and a distinct lack of competition. The locals are probably paying a couple of bucks a pop. However, if there is one 'chicken ranch' in town then there should be a couple more so, that'll be high on my list when I get there.

In the meantime, having a look on Mr Googles maps it shows the Phosi market on the corner of Phothisalath Road (it's Soi Sisavangvong further back towards town) and a fairly large paved road. Is that the one I should turn down or do I take the next turn, which is a minor road, on the left?

Given the fairly basic conditions and the offer of a local hotel was there any mention of a take-out back to your own hotel? If so did they quote you a price? I'm assuming both the 200k and 370k kip were both ST. Any mention of LT?

    Good luck with your projects,
