Macau is a night city so don't stay in HK but take a ferry to Macau and you are never too late. Saunas open 24 hours and people don't start going to Discos till 2am so your timing will be perfect.

My favorite hotel is 'Casa Real Hotel' it is a very clean 4 star hotel with comfortable beds and electronic safe for around 800 HKD on weekdays and 1000 on Weekend; it is located across the street from Sauna 18 and less than 5 minutes walk from Darling 2.

I have stayed at the 4 seasons and Wynn in the past but it is a waste of money since you will probably spend the night mongering and sleeping most of the day.

It is nice to do both cities but don't regret not going to Bangkok as you will have the time of your life in Macau.

I actually prefer Macau over Bangkok due to the variety of nationalities and the Vietnamese girls are great but it is a bit more expensive.

    Good luck and happy mongering.

I am leaving for a long term trip to SE Asia next week. My plans were for a week of debauchery in Bangkok and Pattaya to start my travels, but with the flooding I am scrambling to change plans. I have had flight plans with Cathay Pacific to Bangkok via Hong Kong, but am going to change it to PP, Cambodia. Will have to overnight in HK now and am considering a few days in HK and Macau to replace my Thailand splurge. Flight does not land in HK until 8:30 so was going to spend the night in HK and then hit the saunas in Macau the next day.

    My questions:

Is there an option of storing my main baggage at the HK airport?

How secure is it in terms of your possessions at the saunas? As this is the beginning of a long term trip around mainland SE Asia, I was planning on bringing a sizable amount of cash with me and in Macau would rather not pay for a high end hotel with in room safe in addition to the money I want to spend at the saunas for a day or two.

    Thanks

Thanks guys. I read elsewhere on the forum that getting in at that time would be too much of a push to make the last ferry from the airport. I'm also not sure how I'll be feeling after a 16 hour flight. But yes, my preference would be, all in all, to go directly to Macau- rather than spend one night in HK and then on to Macau the next day. Sauna treatment might be a nice option after that long flight if I'm not too tired. Which is a good sauna to go to late night for good massage to work out the kinks and the rest?

I guess I will go with a hotel in Macau- though I'm thinking of staying through the weekend (Wed or Thur- Sunday) and prices are double for Friday and Saturday. I've seen reports of guys meeting up with girls they met in the spa for overnight; so it would be nice to have a hotel for this option.

Kind of stressful calling this audible at the last moment after doing all this research and making all these plans for Thailand, but even though this will be a shorter and probably costlier splurge than planned- you only live once.

If your flight lands at 8. 30 PM you can take ferry to Macau directly from the airport. Follow the signs saying ferry transfer, go to counter, give your luggage tags and buy ticket. I believe there is a ferry leaving around 10. 30 PM.

They will load your luggage on to the ferry. Just check again before boarding to make sure. There is a scan check. Go to HKG website for all details.

In order to store your luggage you need to pass immigration and customs but you will not be allowed back to take the ferry. Unless the prices have gone up it is $80 Hong kong dollars per day per bag to store. Day means 24 hours. Better take feerry and take bags. Once in Macau take a taxi to your hotel. If you plan on not getting a room saunas offer overnight stay with certain packages. Your money and belongings are very safe. Lots of Hong Kong people bring lots of money to gamble and there is no theft reported anywhere in Macau.

Almost all hotels have in room electronic safe, once again very safe. Go to asiatravel. Com and you get good deals on medium priced hotels. Prices are cheaper on weekdays. Higher on weekends and holidays.

On the way back you can take ferry directly to the HKG airport.

Sauna girls are good although I went only one time. I like to pick up freelancer girls and they stay the night for around 600 HKD. Freelancer girls are everywhere ranging fron Philippinas, Chinese, vietnam and many other countries. Hotel Lisboa racetrack girls can be had for 1000 HKD for one shot in their room upstairs. Negotiate with them although few speak English. Punch on your cell phone the numbers which universal way to negotiate.

The saunas are very secure. All your belongings are under lock and key and I have not heard of any problems there especially at the high end places like Rio and East. I understand your preference to not spend a lot on a high end hotel considering you will be paying more in Macau for entertainment than you originally budgeted for your trip to Thailand. But QE, you don't have to stay at the MGM or any of the other Macau show palaces. Don't get me wrong. The MGM is great, but you can get by very nicely at say the centrally located Holliday Inn. Standard rooms with safe go for around $85 / night. Hotel Royal Macau is another excellent reasonably priced hotel. The bottom line is you are going to have a great time in Macau. I love Thailand and Thai girls, but believe me, these Chinese sauna girls will rock your world.

200-300 is not a huge difference. I have also had many freebies that were alone and wanted to spend a

Night in hotel with all of the ammenities. Most of these girls live 6-10 in an apartment sharing one bathroom.

I've been going to Macau for the past 8 years and had it all.
If for whatever reason you wake up at 4, then ok.

But I would not spend a whole night, waiting for 6am to get a 2/300 MOP price reduction.

with the 1st filipina, we did not even discuss the time yet. 1000 mop is my reasonable limit for a filipina and i didn't negotiate. i was surprised she said no, but its her choice. maybe she knew who i am. macau is very very small, the bamboo grapevine is connected to all the filipinos here. i did not see any other punters talking to working girls.

yeah 6:00am is a little late for me. i guess i could sleep for the night then wake up and go to the club.

Not a killer. Have a look at google map. Bug don't get worried. You can always take a Venetian free shuttle to go to the ferry terminal and golden dragon hotel is a walking distance. Rio will be a 15 min walk.

Distances in Macau are not a big deal. Even if the action takes place in the Rio area or so.
Thanks for the info. I have read most of threads. I'm just eager to get over there. And feel the asian flavor.
