Guidance from the Brotherhood please: I am gearing up for a 100 day city-hopping trip starting mid-January. I have drafted a plan that includes Singapore, Indonesia (mostly likely Batam and Bali), Malaysia (mostly likely five days each in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu with a quick two day stop in Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (several locations in the south), Cambodia (Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh for sure), Vietnam (tentatively Saigon, Nha Trang, the Nang, Hue, Hanoi and HaLong Bay), Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines (Angeles City, Puerto Galera and Boracay). Should be fun.

Having sketched out the plan and done a preliminary budget, I am now looking to refine and firm things up. I've been to Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau, but never to Malaysia. Since this is the Malaysian forum, I was hoping to benefit from a little guidance from other experienced Malaysian mongers.

I'd really appreciate in hearing suggestions re: mongering destinations in Malaysia other than Kuching and Kota Kinabalu that I should consider.

1) Muslim represented 60% of the Malaysia population (But yes it s the majority), but around 88% in Indonesia, have you noticed in the rest of Indonesia girls also have to cover their head and in bandah aceh they have the charia too? Maybe your Indonesia experienced was limited to Bali?

2) Non Muslim like Chinese and Indian, orang asli are not concerned by the Charia (ever if in practice it s a bit more complicated, but Malaysia is a complicated country).

3) Kl got everything if you know where to go. Prc, viet, Indonesia, Indian, local Chinese etc. But if you expected bar scene like in Angeles, Bkk, Pattaya you re in at the wrong place, the P4P scene is not made for farang, but for local. P4P is not a tourism industry in Malaysia.

4) With let said " luck" you can find a GF or even your future wife in Kl or in another Malaysian town.

5) I'm also not a fan of KL, there is better place for living in Malaysia.

You are right, KL is not a mongering destination as BKK or philippines. Same as Singapore or Hong Kong.

Good if you are there, but do not take them as a specific destination for P4 P.

Vietnam? Bit more complicate to handle there.

I'm trying to plan my next trip and I was really considering Malaysia. From the previous reports, it sounds really tempting but I wanted to get your thoughts on the matter. I've been to Angeles, Manila, Bangkok and Pattaya several times. I was wondering how Malaysia compared to the 2 other countries? I was also thinking about Indonesia but plane tickets are rather expensive to Indo. Any input on the subject will be appreciated!
