Quite frankly I usually open door and say I know its 10 RM but I will give you 20 RM to take me to x. To me the difference between $2:50 US and $5 US is negligible. Others on principle may disagree.
Also agree on location. Can you cancel your accom and stay closer to action. Do you know you can walk to and from BC & TC from say Fraser Place?

2. Don't Know. Why you not stay around Bukit Bindang? Plenty of spa, massage, bars.
3. I read that Gypsy and Zion on Changkat Bukit Bindang have freelancers but I can't confirm.

Taxies are probly the worst in asia to use the meter I use uber, if you lookn to go to changkat I would stay near there.

Posts: 6308Thanks everyone for the SIM card replies. I'll get my SIM at the airport. My apologies for a couple of more newbie questions:
1. do taxis all use meters or do they scam like they do in Pattaya?
2. I am staying at the Hilton near Nu Sentral in the Brickfields area. Are there any good bars or massage parlors I can check out there? Feel free to PM me.
3. Other than BC and TC, are there any other decent bars? Which are the good bars in the Changkat area? I'm interested in Viet girls rather than PRC ones. Preferably under 25 but can be 30 if super hot. Willing to pay more if the girl is hot.
Thanks for helping.

I bought a Digi cell SIM an hour ago at KLIA 2. There was no line. Paid RM 20 (US $4. 60) for a 7 day card with 1. 50 GB data and RM 10 phone call credit. I believe the data may be unlimited after 7 pm I'm not sure as I had trouble understanding the sales rep. 1. 50 GB is plenty of data for me. Hope this helps Banana Boi and others.

1) At the KLIA airport, if I am not wrong just before the immigration (I can be wrong on this, maybe after, as they moved 2 years ago and my memory is still confused). There are 3 providers side by side. I usually choose Digi, but I have no special reason for that. I just took the yellow the first time, then I never changed. I never waited to be served more than 2-3 minutes, as the Chinese guy is extremely efficient.
2) Again at the KLIA Airport, just after the arrival exit, near the ATMs where I suggest you take your cash for the night and first expenses in town.
3) After that, I suppose you will take the KLIA Express to KL Sentral. At KL Sentral, there are MANY booths of all providers.
4) If you still don't have it, once settled in your hotel there are many around the Bukit Bintang area, Pudu, Chinatown, Chow Kit, anywhere.
My recommendation is to buy it as soon as possible at 1). I am not sure if it really costs few ringit more, but the price difference is negligible, as I want to be online immediately, to be able to check my contacts as soon as I am waiting the KLIA Ekspres. Moreover, having my SIM card at the airport means that I have one less thing to do once I am in town.
I usually buy TWO SIM cards: one for an old Nokia phone, just for calling and SMS (10-20 rm may be enough for few days), another for data traffic to be placed in my mobile wifi modem (mobile hotspot). Both are cheap.

Hi fellow members,
I have planned for a Malaysia trip and will be in KL for one night. Oct. Have booked Fairline residences at bintang. Looking for some fun time. Will be thankful if any leads are shared. MP & SP. Do anyone have stayed at the same hotel. Is that guest friendly. Do they allow guests entering our rooms. I know, I'm asking more questions. Apologize me. I'm new.
Thanks again.

No need to worry. Cheaper than airport.
