Don't worry about going out and exploring. I visited KL several times last year and find KL quite safe. I live in LA. True taxi drivers always try to ask for a fixed rate upfront, you can stand firm and tell them to use the meter. Even if you end paying a fixed rate it is still cheap. You can also negotiate up front how much you want to pay.

For example, to go skyriver, a spa mentioned in the forum quite often, 10 ringgit will be enough. About the same price for Federal hotel spa as well since they are about the same distance from Concorde. You can walk to both spas but it takes about good 20 to 30 minutes. I did it once but it wasn't pleasant due to all the humidity.

Don't go to the spa at Concorde unless you like older women in their late 30's to 40's. I went there couple times more for massage than fun.

Enjoy your stay. I wish I was there. I have to wait until May for my next visit.

I wanted to try something different so gave the famous Peter of 6 Star a call and made some arrangements after describing my requirements. A date was set. Forget what you see on the website I suspect he only has and markets aggressively a PRC stable. So for me the 6 star was a non starter. Thus I am UNABLE to recommend or NOT RECOMMEND his service, girls or prices.
