Spent some time in thamel and pokhara. Looked around extensively and even succumbed to asking for help off of one of the street hustlers. He ended up taking me to a shady place where the women looked at least 50 and were very rugged. Even looked around in famous bus park in pokhara as someone mentioned, spent some time going in and out of restaurants and bars, and it was mainly poor people and was too afraid of pissing anyone off honestly. Found one place near lake and they were very old unappealing women (not even passable) who only provided very limited services. Taxi drivers mentioned that these types of things used to happen years ago but no such thing exists anymore.

Not sure what I'm missing or if things are done differently here but if they are it seems I can't catch on. I'm almost convinced it's non existent at this point.

If anyone has any useful information would be more than thankful.

Pokhara is more happening for mongering than Kathmandu. There are tons of birds in Pokhara and they cheap and willing to please. I stayed in Pokhara for about a week and I didn't sleep alone even a single night. For short term, you can go to the famous bus park where girls are working in cheap restaurants as waiters. Just order a soft drink and negotiate. Action happens in the rooms in the back or upstairs. 1 k for short time. These girls are also willing to go for night for 5 k to your hotel in lakeside. Make sure the hotel is ok with bringing guests over. Negotiate hard. Asked the bell boy for some action and he recommended I go to Prithivi chowk after 9 pm where you can find a lot of indies willing to go for the night.

Just fresh from a few days in the valley and will give an update as things change fast here (at least in the world of mongering). The following options are open to anyone so lack of language or familiarity with Kathmandu should not be an issue. Any taxi driver can get you to Thamel to find the action.

Maoists: they are part of the government now, so much of the threat in the countryside is gone. They never really focused on tourists anyhow, and routes in the east, like those to and around Everest, did not have much of a presence. They used to charge a RS/1000 tax, but did not hear about that this round. They occasionally get the urge to enforce morality, so once every so often they close down the girly entertainment. But they are as corrupt as the next political party, so this is only temporary and things will usually get back to normal very quickly.

Massage parlours: Thamel still has plenty of them so you will not have look to hard to find a spot. I think the girls are getting better looking too. Maybe the massive influx from the south and west to escape Maoists and poverty has increased the work force? If you stick to your guns, for the price of a Maoist tax (RS/1000) you can have any of the girls for a quick romp. Scout around, find something you like and make the offer.

Dance bars: They no longer feature full nudity. The police are putting the pressure on, but these things come in phases. I tried to get one of the girls to meet me the next day after she gave me her phone number, but she chickened out and ask me to just come the dance bar again. I suppose with perseverance one could make it happen, but I didnt have the patience, especially with so many other options. There are dozens of these bars, and I only visited a few, so there is exploration yet to be done.

Brothels: Yes, there are now dens of iniquity mainly in the Thamel area. Room and choice of girls for RS/1500. The boys in Thamel now offer Massage? along with Hash? Marijuana? Something? Or ask a rikshaw driver if you dont get the offer and are interested. You will not have to leave the main area, so dont go on a long goose chase.

I have been to Nepal twice, but reading the reviews here about the people getting thug I am afraid to look for any action. I have actually seen one guy getting thug by almost 10-12 people late at night near some bar. As he was speaking Hindi I was able to heard some part of the conversation like "This was not the deal "That's too much" and likes.

I have been to Kathmandu two times. Place is nice and people are friendly. Food is good and dance bars are OK to look and have a beer, but nothing more. Massage parlours are just that and nothing else.

Was thinking this time (will be there 15 -17 Dec.) to go to one of the nightclubs:
