I read the forum with all respect to mongers around. However, I got an interesting situation. This is gonna be my first time in Singapore. I will not ask for a Hotel advise cause I'll land on saturday next week and stay on Fairmont Hotel (on Bras basah rd) which company had already booked. Based on what I read from this forum, I strongly believe and got no doubt that this Hotel will be GF.

My first queue is; I expect to have the elevators operate with room key. Meanwhile, I dont know if any backdoor exists. My problem is that, I cannot accompany any of my guests because the Hotel will be full of bosses and collegues. I cannot give any shot. Now, how the hell I can manage this time to get my guest to room?

My second question is; which mongering scene is close to the Hotel I'll stay?
I plan to visit regular spots which I reached the details from the other threads.
All the suggestions are wellcome and highly appreciated.

    Report to come.

Any of the places at Clarkes Quay or maybe some good KTV places which allow girls to be taken out? Also maybe a price indication. Much obliged for the info.
With all due respect, try posting in the general info thread the next time and not the hotel thread.

    See my reply there.

No flaming, but quicker to make the list of the "non green hotels" in SG)

The back entrance at the lower floor is open till 11.30pm. You can take the lift directly from there up to your room. The room key card is needed to operate the lift. So no walk of shame.

But don't worry staff at the PP Orchard are used to guests beeing accompanied by one or two girls and will not bat a lid. They will not even look at you!

Thanks. Well, I admit that I felt a bit foolish when I realized where I was .

    Fort Canning Lodge

    1. Fort Canning Lodge is part of the YWCA. If you know what the acronym stands for, I wouldnt stay there on a mongering/pooning trip if you know what I mean...

    2. Radio City Hall? You mean Radio City Music Hall? That's in NYC. This is Singapore. Here, we just call it City Hall lah.

    3. We don't call our MRT the 'metro' either. Only because you'd be directed to a department store of the same name if you call it that.

I'm just trying to help... seriously.
Thanks for all friendly comments to my post on Fort Canning Lodge.

I admit that the hotel is a bit away from City Hall and very far away from Radio City Music Hall . And I realized that something was wrong when I saw some strange biblical quotations on the walls. But no quotation forbade the guests to take girls to their rooms , so I decided to give it a try.

Of course taxi is more convenient, but not always faster, than MRT. However, how can a person have physical power enough to have sex all night (or at least one hour) if he cannot manage five minutes walk from MRT to OT?

Anyway, here is a report from my staying at Fort Canning Lodge:

    Location: Very good.

At the end of Orchard Road and close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT.

    Room:

Generally good. And the room had a safe. The location and inroom safe was the main reason for choosing this hotel.

Some rooms have one big bed and others have two smaller and you do not know what option you get when you book the room.

There were no hand shower - the shower was fixed to the wall. This is not convenient for the female guests.

    Service: OK
Internet service: Expensive and not faster or better than the cheaper internet cafées.

    Breakfast: Good.

But the dining room was crowded and not so pleasant.

    Girl Friendliness:

Of course Young Women's Christian Association must be positive to young women but not necessarily to taking them to your room. But this was an opportunity to prove that all hotels in Singapore are girl friendly so of course I must try.

I had read the posts about the risks of giving the girl one of the key cards and how you avoid these risks (thank you!). But this was too complicated, I thought. So I picked up a young Vietnamese girl at Ipanema, took a taxi to the hotel and went through the lobby with her at my side. The doorman looked somewhat surprised but I just greeted him kindly. The only problem was that I had a hard on - the girl had been quite convincing when she persuaded me to choose her - so I couldn't walk properly . But noone stopped us and I had a pleasant night at YWCA.

So - sorry Raverboy. Your information was not correct and you are to pessimistic. All hotels are mongering friendly. Also YWCA.

    Geylang Hotel

Geylang is well served by buses, though as Geylang Road is one way, if you're headed from downtown you'll alight on Sims Way, Sims Ave or Guillemard Rd.

I'd say MRT to Aljunied is a good option, and is probably my usual mode of arrival. If you're on a quick airport stopover MRT is particularly convenient.

OT is a good 5 minute walk from Orchard MRT.
    To Blair

I agree hotel at Geylang area is much cheaper than in Orchard or chinatown area, but MTR only run til midnight so you need to take the taxi back to Geylang if you want to go to OT or bar in chinatown, most of the hotel in Geylang area is 3 star motel most have small room and no mini bar and frig but if you are on a budget around 40 USD a night or less is a good option.

Fort Canning Lodge is girl friendly (heck, since its the YMCA as you point out, it's probably boy friendly as well), but the nearest MRT stop would be Dhoby Ghaut, not City Hall... Personally, I'd always take a taxi- it's a sweaty walk from the MRT to OT or Geylang...
