Was in our favourite hunting ground, Danok last week, Thursday. Stayed at this new Hotel, Samit Grand View. It’s about 2 – 3 Soi’s from Oliver. Place is new. Stayed in Deluxe, cost RM120/- nett per nite, incl 2 breakfast. Deluxe was large, spacious, had some cable TV (2 units per room), couple of nice comfy chairs, fridge etc. Bathroom had a separate shower cubicle other than the sink etc (no bathtub). Breakfast was ok, the standard bread, toast, butter-jam etc, sausages, some noodles, pork, chicken, on-the-spot-fry-egg counter etc. All in a nice hotel, best thing is hotel has it’s own little buggy service to transport guest around town, nice experience, esp. in our little Dannok.

Further north than that is the town of Hat Yai. Hat Yai seemed a fairly peacefull town with many Thais of Chinese origin there. I also felt the town of Hat Yai was boring. Dannok is a sleazy town that caters mostly to Malaysian men both idigenous Malay and Chinese or Indian. Many the Karaoke
or Beer Bars are run by Malay men and alot seedy thai mafia types hanging around aswell. If you want escort with a lady "booking" is what they call it.
You have to pay first. In such case i suggest you pay short time about 1000baht and then extend to long time by additional payment after u have test drove your vehicle. I did not do long time as first escort i had from Burma ends up with full fledged period, mess. Second had nasty tummy scars do to the battle of childbirth and both of the 2 services were low intimacy that means no kissing etc. I noticed at the Hotel more than one occasion of what seemed to be men from Malaysia teaming one escort. It seemed to be for sakes of comradery and most likely a value for the money but somehow i got the feeling they werent doing her all at the same time but rather tag team. It seemed some of the has been sex workers are veterans from Soi Cowboy post retirement. Also some of the stunners hanging around are not for carry out but rather only comfort karaoke girls. I was in Dannok late last year and these remarks are pretty spot on. My friend and I were the first westerners they had seen in several weeks so this is definitely a Thai and Malay scene. They take ringgits as well as baht. We did find one fixer who spoke passable English. The hotels are pretty cheap. But next time I'm coming from Malaysia, I think I will give this place a pass and go on to Hatyai.

I guess most members take it that you can check many previous reports about Hadyai and do not bother to reply to you. I hope I can help a little to provide information you need as follows:

1. Hotel: check with travel agents in Hdy(plenty of them) to buy hotel voucher which is cheaper, ie don't walk in direct. Popular hotels are like New Season, Golden Crown Plaza, Lee Garden Plaze and many others, depending on your budget. Rates quoted by agents are normally quite close to one another.

2. Spa: Ask for Hadyai tourist brochure (printed monthly) which is free and available from the counter of most travel agents. A lot of info are there.

3. Massage parlour: same as 2. Popular ones are Alladin (next to Kosit hotel) and Sakura Grand View Hotel.

4. Beer bar: again same as 2

5. Girl: Best you look one for yourself through tuk-tuk driver though you may have to pay indirect commission (ie topped up by the papasan) but you have more choices. Price for overnight booking is about 2000bht and should not be more than 2500 bht. It is not advisable to take a girl from street or bell boy. It is up to you.

6. Food: Popular Thai restaurant is Kan Eng. Again, same as 2.

7. Shopping: Are you serious? Usually I have not time for shopping in Hdy after I book my puying. Get busy with her pussy! Just joking, there is one big dept store just opposite Lee Garden Plaza. Of course there are also big shopping malls like Tesco and Carrfore but they are quite a distance from city centre.

Was there on Thursday(25th) night

In general, the elder ML ask for RM100 and the younger ML asks for RM150, most people will just gave in because the small brain taking over the decision making process.
