I used to park up there, vicinity of Ramada, then walk down to York. Some girls would want to take a taxi back, grabbing the taxi RIGHT outside the York to minimize street time. Others would walk, no problem. Some beside me, others a couple of steps behind (not too far as you can get a lot of lookie-lous who can crowd in and harass. Think it's called Eve teasing back in their home country). You want to be close enough to step back if required. i have a confession. i actually visit massage parlours for the massage. the extras like a bj or hj are just the icing on the cake! i guess it’s something that works for my conscience. i used to visit the wgs, but my conscience, and the cost, just kept nagging a bit (i’m cheap). all my previous visits have been in a country that’s currently very focussed on football/soccer, so i’ve been researching the excellent local material provided by the isg members (thanks to you all) for the last 12 months waiting for my opportunity (read temporary single status).

at some stage you have to stop researching and actual get into action, and since i’m currently based in ad, and as you all know there’s basically no amp action here, i decided to follow-up a lead from a recent posting. there’s only one problem. i don’t know anything about the suburbs in dubai – just the malls! so when i saw the lead i leapt into my trusty vehicle and headed north, i mean how hard can it be to find the “old post office building”? i just need to get myself to karama, and ask directions from a local shopkeeper or something. everyone navigates using well known landmarks, and this must be one. rotfl. for the record everyone knows the new post office building, but no one knows of the old one.

ok, plan b – do it the old-fashioned way (with a modern twist). i haul out my trusty blackberry, and access the classifieds on gulf news. wow, such a choice. at first i tried to identify the (in)famous um suqueim and jumeirah sites. no luck. ok, so i took pot luck, and called one that looked promising. having explained to them that i was from out of town they gave me a hotel as a landmark, but when i searched on my satnav there were four such hotels. called them back and we narrowed it down to the correct one, and i managed to get there pretty quickly and surprisingly found parking close by.

so there i am, invigorated after a pretty good massage and extremely aroused. time to regroup, so i head to a mall for contemplation and sustenance. do i go back to the same place and try another masseuse, or try something else. since i didn’t want to appear desperate, i chose the latter and called another parlour. they gave me the usual local landmark with instructions to call for directions once i was there. i received a text in “chinglish” that i was able to decipher and found myself on the second floor of the building, and promptly became horribly confused. there were two parlours, and i couldn’t remember which one i’d phoned! what the hell, i went into the one with the open door and read the notice on the counter about “no extras” and “can’t choose your masseuse unless you’re a regular”, etc. oh, hell not again. but i’ve seen that notice in some parlours before and there are always extras so i took a chance.

the price was 120 without oil and 150 with oil. i paid the 150 and was escorted by my “thai” lady (a 5 imho) to a cubicle with paper thin walls and no door, just a blind. she left me while i got prepared, and again i donned my birthday suit. she then returned with a pair of boxer shorts for me to wear during the session. fvck!! this is not looking good. i then received a rather sub-standard massage, with the delightful distraction of the couple in the next cubicle having a very boring chat. after knocking on the wall a couple of times to try to get them to quieten down, my lady left to arrange to have the music switched on. upon her return i noticed that she was playing particular attention to the imprisoned important bits. in a very quiet whisper she enquired whether or not she could give me a hj. hell, yes i thought and entered into negotiations. thanks to you guys i know what i should pay, but i ended up paying way over the odds – thinking with the not so little head at this stage. quick hj with many nervous glances to the entrance of the cubicle, and a flying finish to the massage. no shower offered. paid the agreed fee (no i’m not going to reveal how desperate i was, but i’ll be better prepared next time), and hit the road back to ad. looks 5; massage 2 (i’ve seen more oil on an oven baked chip); service a disappointing 1.

all in all a disappointing first foray, but i’ll keep the details of the first parlour in case i need a decent massage again. i’ll probably have another trip to dubai in the next few weeks, so i’ll keep you posted.

I was not on the prowl last night. I'm saving my energy and money for WB's cute little spinner (thanks for the number, WB!). I used to live near York/Regal, and had the same situation - too near for taxi, but still a 10 minute walk - never had a problem walking together, dozens of times. (Besides, with all the u-turns and traffic, it could take 20 minutes by cab). If you feel uncomfortable walking with her, you can ask her to meet you at the hotel a few minutes after you arrive.

Sounds like you found a sweet no-hassles girl to enjoy your nights with, at a good price. And she would have appreciated your return custom in these economic times with fewer customers.
