Hi All

First of all, love reading this forum! The reports and comments are a good read, have learnt where the best places are to pickup so Thursday night decided to venture out. Been in Dubai for 3 weeks but been busy with work, so Thursday wanted to get out and about so jumped into a cab to Seaview after 9. 30

how private can a number be if the owner is easily found? the poster, or other members, would be tracked down? yea maybe, but:

• outside the gcc: my isp doesn't do business in the gulf, not too many western telco companies do, all that local business protectionism and all. takes a court order to turn over isp records. not the easiest to come by...
  
• inside the gcc: now maybe the nsa can crack an onion ring, but i just don't think they'll get involved. and vpn's... again, foreign companies not doing business in the region...

and jackson? i have faith in him. i just don't think he does too much business with gcc govts... besides, it's several layers to get back to an actual name...

they could read a post, then look at security camera video to identify the person. seems like a lot of manpower...

probably the easiest is read the post, go pick up the lady, question her as to who was her companion on a given night, and see who's in her mobile [do you ever wonder what they do with a detained girl's mobile - think they go through, logging the numbers, checking sms's...?] made even easier if you post her unmasked photo, or even a partially masked one...

First I’d like to express how much I greatly appreciate those who spend time writing reports here. I’d probably do more myself, but I don’t get out as much as I used to!

Last weekend I finally succumbed to the temptation that’s been nagging me for a while, after some hesitation, I picked up the phone and called Snow in Dubai. Not only do I like the name but her pictures really did it for me.

“Hello” she said in a shy sounding voice, “I am Snow”. After a few questions to test the water, I fixed up a meet.

I turned up that evening and met her in the hotel bar, I figured I’d recognise her easily from her pictures and if they weren’t her pictures well, nothing lost, after all she didn’t know me. When I did see her I was more than pleasantly surprised, not only is she the girl in the pictures but she is better by far in the flesh. Tall, elegant and not too skinny. She does that fluttering eyes thing when she greets you. I’d booked an hour with her at 1,000 Dirhams but after we got talking and she realised I was resident she dropped her price to 800. Maybe I could have got better out of her but right then I was too into the idea to worry about the cash.

I found that a simple "No thank you", and turning away, worked 99% of the time, especially with the PRC's. Any explanation could be misunderstood, especially by someone of "limited english".

Anyhow, whilst standing next to Jennifer this cute PRC girl I had saw earlier came up. Started to talk and within minutes she grabbed me and took me down to the front to watch the band and away from jennifer.

That's why you want to clear that landing slot as quickly as possible. Could be trouble another night when the 1st girl accuses the 2nd of stealing her customer, especially across nationalities. Most girls won't approach a guy who is occupied, whether he really is or not. Again, a "no thank you", and turning away gives ALL a clear signal.

Grab 1 of the tall, small tables in the center of the bar. I preferred front row so I could watch who was dancing when the band takes a break, plus a great view of the band - they do put on a show. But the back row has it's own advantages - you can see who is passing behind you.

On a Thursday night, yes. I can't remember a bar that wasn't packed on a Thursday. Which is why I always had a Miss Thursday for home delivery, saving me from going out and fighting the masses.

Try another night - less crowded, more chance to look around. More favorable market. And the food at the Seaview is pretty decent too.

Agree with this 100%. Totally slipped by me this time, but its not good form to put ANY numbers up on the open board let alone LE numbers.

Besides.. its not like they will only use 1 number so telling people to watch out for calls from that particular number is not much help.
Technically it could be a call from ANY number resulting in the same outcome.

To the original poster, if you cannot edit your post to remove the number, send a message to the admin to do so asap.

Not a good idea to publish the phone number of a supposed LE. It took me 5 seconds to look up the number - it's the private number of a prominent very religious local. LE do monitor sites such as this, plus, it would only take one whacko member or lurker to call the guy to alert him or harrass him. If he is LE, it would be easy enough for him to track you down. Even if he isn't LE, he will know LE. He might even be so pissed at his number being published, that he might have LE track down other Dubai posters, both here and overseas, which could result in surprise visits to members here, or embarrassing phone calls to members overseas, plus a little black mark on their immigration record. If you are a Dubai resident, instead of worrying about one of your favorite WGs being in jail, you could be in jail.

Dear Saviours and Protectors of WGs, when you get out of jail a few years later, and you can finally access internet again, please tell us how many WGs cared enough to visit you in prison, or even send you a postcard. I think you already know the answer.

You are right and I agree....and I do understand that it was my fault of getting ripped off like that, since it was the first time doing this in dubai, I thought 'there could actually be a fight in the bar and she (with all of her height of 5' and weight of 45-47kgs) can stop it :P

but now since I have started to apply the formulae I have learnt from this very forum, I guess I can still be the nice guy with an asshole streak, all at once depending on the attitude of the girl.

But still....cant be sure...may be a new and improved excuse can still get me.
