Going to be out there for 10 on business expense and advise for a good, monger friendly location is appreciated.

I've stayed there several times and it is definitely girl / monger friendly.

Never stayed at the Shangri-la but can recommend you the Peninsula just across the road. It is very GF and no problems at all.

I didn't have time to check out the facilities so I can't comment on anything other then the room and the reception desk. Room service was limited, and the were not able to exchange USD at reception (there is an exchange office across the street though). They are obviously still setting up. There was some (little) noise thought the day they are obviously going though the final touches.

Overall good value for money, great location, new hotel. WORTH THE $$$

I looked them up on the web and they have rates as low as $57 and $72 per night.

My guess is that these are promo rates since the place just opened July 1. If you are coming to manila soon I would cancel my reservation and stay at this place.

It is right on makati ave next to burgos street!

Can anyone tell me anything about this Mabuhay Manor Hotel? I am thinking of staying there the first two days of my arrival.

Good thing about the Eurotel is its position on Alabang/Zapote Road, almost opposite Southmall. Bad thing is that this road is one of the most traffic clogged roads in Manila, particularly at rush hour (which is most of the day:)) so you have to give plenty of time when planning for meetings, assignations etc.

Very close to Las Pinas and much more upmarket is Alabang. Off the top of Alabang/Zapote Road and close to a very nice garden mall called Alabang Town Centre is the Vivere. Never stayed there so cannot report but it appears to be a nice hotel. You can check it out at http://viveresuites.com/accommodations.asp.

    Hope this helps a little.
    That actually helps a lot!

Thanks for the quick reply. This does look nice and seems to have everything I'm looking for..

    Much appreciated.

    Las Pinas

    Respected PI mongers....

I will be in Manila next month, but due to some urgent personal/family reasons, I have to stay close to las Pinas for most of my time there.

I need to stay in a hotel, but hopefully.. a clean pace with wi-fi and a decent breakfast.

Will need to stay a week so a windowless Euortel type room might get too prison like on my current mission.

    Any recommendations guys?

Price is not a factor since it will be a short stay. Just want something comfortable and clean where I can catch up with work if I have to.

Will return the favour if you old hands ever venture to Dubai.

    Much appreciated!

    :)

Well, my 2 cents, avoid those 'apartel' / penthouse types.

Except a few well maintained places, the temporary tenants end up creating breeding grounds for roaches.

As for cleanliness and fresh sheets/towels - they were on the ball at every apartment style residence I stayed.
