Called the number and was given directions by a good english speaking lady. A filippino guy half naked opens the villa door. Big hall more than ten girls standing in line. Having landed in Dubai on the 25th for the first time in four years with no money (post credit crash) I thought that the best contribution I could make was to compare what things were like from their hayday in 2006 when the first LE crackdowns started in earnest and now.

Day 1 Sunday 25th July 2010:

I thought the best thing was to start slow in the downstairs bar in Regal and let him see the quality of the CIS and Stanis going up to the stairs to Rockerfellers. I was expecting the worst. I read the forum enviously for four years with a tub of vaseling and a box of tissues (to wipe the tears of envy from my face, of course) whilst you lucky ex-pats screwed in air con luxury, slowly watching the reports of doom, gloom rising prices and rampant LE stings come in.

In fact I expected the Islamic version of the Apocolypse to be upon us with pigs being slaughtered and the second coming of Christ already underway with all the crucifixes being destroyed. But no, the Police are still here, the biggest crucifix in all of the Arabian Peninsula is still there (a.k.a. Burj Al Arab) and the Hookers are still here also. Thank goodness for some common sense at least.

The quality of the girls initially looked pretty good. I have to say in late 2006 the stunners were hard to come by. We then went to York (I was saving the best wine till last) and warned him of the hyper-aggressive Chinese women and advised him to wear his rugby jumper with the velcrose “tear-off” sleeve so he can make his getaways. Day 2 Monday 26th

So I decided to visit Jockeys in Panama for an early evening pint. We discovered beer at the uber-low cost of 25 Dirham per pint was possible. This is where I have discovered my money-saving beer recycling method. As I was "crying in my beer" at the prices I realised my alcoholic tears could be cought and dripped back into the Heiniken bottle, thus recycling both alcohol and water and extending the life of your drink. Clever eh? And the best thing is, that the higher the extortionate price, the more you cry!

Back to girls, again, some of the Ethiopian, Eritrean, and stani girls looked much, much better than used to be available. Prices coming down as the sun tan came up to a more reasonable 1000 LT. IF Jockeys can do this, what happens when I get to the new places?

Day 3 Tuesday 27th:

Day 4 Wednesday 28th:

Coming back from the Jebel Ali club (all hands, dive, dive, dive) missed the bastard place again. Whats happened. All these tall buildings close together must have drowned the place in the last four years.

So I drove to the Palm Beach (not GF) and we got a taxi to the Rattlesnake, 25 DHs poorer. Not driving, I saw the “Metroplex” sign and got the exit straight away. I mean, how fucking easy can it be?

Walking in I realised two things. 1) All the PRC have gone 2) LOTS of nice CIS. Some of it out of my league some of it a bit rough but lots of choice as the night went on. 3) Band AWFUL and I mean just possibly the most tuneless singers and worst PA I have ever seen in my life. I think they were chosen because they just weren’t Asian. That was bearable at least. Then they started dancing! I couldn’t even watch them after that. At least there were girls to look at. In general some of the construction work since my last visit is terrible. I am reminded of council estates in Helensburgh or the building you see of the M6 in Birmingham. The closeness of the high-rises is claughstrohobic ruining both the view of the buildings and the view from the buildings. Th sprawl of Dubai means the city has lost is centre and its soul (much like LA) and I hope they can address this in the future. The prices of Girls seem stable and yet the cost of food is double. The Hotels slightly less.

Dont know how many of you live in hotel apartments but lately there has been some police activity around the one I stay in.

The manager had a quiet word explaining that they have had a number of visits recently from the authorities after following in "guests"

Seems to have shaken them up and they claimed that tenants details had been copied so worth being careful.

Is this a one off or have others heard of similar thing?

Given that Dubai is now like a ghost town, it has made picking up tourists all that much more easier, and the beautiful thing about Dubai is that a lot of western girls travel to Dubai as a couple for a few days of pampering and R&R.

A few nights ago whilst out on the prowl, my wingman and I spotted a couple of tourists in Bar Zar (given away by the 'holiday clothes' and the red tan), and hooked them with next to no effort whatsoever. She wanted AED1500 (yeah right), so I immediately countered with AED500 (it was gone 3am), finally agreeing on AED700 for LT. I threw them into the taxi we had waiting, threw myself into a free taxi and was off into the night.

How and why LE tolerate this I have no idea. I genuinely have never seen anything like this anywhere in the world, and given the prominence of the location and the fact that the hotel is often frequented by families, I would suggest that there is a limited window of opportunity to join the feast before it is moved on.
