I have the same experience as Tanuki in regards to the price of FS. I've only twice been asked for an additional fee. However I only get FS about 60% of the time, but I'm not in Nagoya. I'm in Osaka.

I don't know the scene in Nagoya, but I have had my fair share of HC and other types of service providers, I do believe the discrimination is systemic and societal, BUT you can get around it if you speak good enough Japanese, become a regular-earning your mileages and earn the trust of the managers. In several places, I was told some girls did not service gaijin and I found those usually turned out to be the hottest, but over time, the managers would tell me pick whoever I want. So yes, some girls might really hesitate to service gaijin and I have met some of these girls, but mostly it's up to the managers.

To add to Zcorps comment below, the women working at legitimate Japanese fuzoku shops have total freedom in their work schedule. That's always made clear on recruiting pages, and on Japanese language forums for J-women working in such shops.

A completely unplanned stroke of luck, I not only got into a health club but got excellent service. Previous to this club, I was refused service by a club right around the corner. I am writing more to shed some light on discrimination rather than the mongering itself.

Without my knowing, the manager checked with his girls to see if one would service me. The manager and I talked about me getting excluded from the previous club. He contra[dict]ed the reason being that some foreigners get out of hand. Rather he said it is because some girls don't want to service foreigners.

Bullshit what the manager said. Sure some girls don't want to service foreigners, and according to some Tokyo foreigners, the top girls of a place are likely to reject services. But on my third time back at this same health club in Nagoya, the staff there purposely hid me from being seen by Japanese patrons.

As I was leaving the girl and about to enter the main part of the club where patrons are received and wait their turn, the staff made a makeshift curtain wall between me and the Japanese patrons as I walked through the room and the front door. This room is small and the Japanese patrons already were sitting at a bar counter with their backs to the walkway that I was to take to the front door.

The fact that this HC hid me contradicts the manager's implied claim that discrimination against foreigners solely came from the wish of the WGs. The action by this HC reveals what many foreigners already feel that discriminatory attitudes are widespread among Japanese; that HCs cannot claim otherwise.

I must point out though that some WGs don't want to service foreigners because some foreigners push the HC girls for FS, a service that could force a HC to close down. Bureaucratic Japan will not tolerate HCs entering the province of the soapland.
