Some girl in Dolce Vita told me about it too but I forgot the name. I was going down Ave. Atlantica Saturday night at 4 am after dropping a girl off on Prado Junior. I was looking for the club, it was all lit up, seemed like there were some people still in there, I wanted to stop but it was already 4 AM and I was shot. So it's there and the posters below description of the location looks accurate.

First, props to World Mongerer for some long-overdue good Rio reports. Breaks my heart to continue to hear bad reports on Monte Carlo as it is literally one block from my office

Headed out to Solarium tonight to meet Travelrb69, who was back in Rio for a bit -- he had read some of my FKK reports from Germany back in July. I hadn't been to Solarium since moving to Rio on Oct. 1, so I figured I would give it a shot. Picked Monday as they run an internet special where if you print out a form from their site, they give you R$40 off a 40-minute room. Which barely makes up for the R$15 each-way cab there from Copa, but hey

Tell you the truth, i was a bit skeptical on my way out ... I know Solarium and the Zona Sul Ts are pretty pricey these days, and I've been having pretty good luck in Centro at some significantly cheaper Ts introduced to me by BubbaBoy. Like 502 and MV30. Hard to beat R$120 a throw if you find a cutie, and generally I've been seeing 2-3 in each spot.

It wasn't helped by the cab driver dropping me off on the wrong street, about 4 blocks from Rua J.J. Seabra. But I walked a bit and sorted it out. Jardim Botanico always seems "mais tranquilo do que Copacabana" -- may be an illusion, but feels safer. The suco bars are definitely 10%-20% more expensive, at least

Solarium remains pretty much the same. 1 perky somewhat cute receptionist and her fatter colleague (who suggested tipping on the way out, which miffed me off a bit). Prices are now (I think) R$70 entrance, R$80 room (40. min), and R$160 girl. With my coupon I got out for R$294 with 1 caipirinha, 1 suco de pessego (for the chick), and 1 water.

The showers were still nice and hot, but I find the bathroom / facilities cramped vs. other T's. I do like the boite in Solarium, a lot. It was a bit slow on Monday night -- one girl said about 1/2 the girls were out -- but that's OK with me as it gave me ample time to check the place out. Lots of taller, thinner, blonder girls than Centro -- 1 black chick, a couple mulattas, some body-builder types (including that chick who used to work at Monte Carlo with the huge dragon tattoo), and also Priscilla (curly blond hair) who does strip-shows sometimes is still there.

There were definitely some doable girls. Won't say the selection was better on a per-girl basis than Centro, but probably overall more doable girls than in 502. I like the vibe in the boite. I ended up picking a tall, muscular, short-dark-hair carioca with a big serpent tattoo around her belly -- Camilla. 25 and of course has 1 kid and is studying to be an aesthetician. She was fun in the room - nice BBBJ, licked the balls w/o being told (good girl), strong squat-fucking. Didn't try anything particularly safado so can't say how she feels about anal or CIM. Funny thing -- I kept saying "Good girl!" as she was doing her thing, and she kept correcting me and saying "Camilla!" ... had to explain to her what it meant in my broken Porto lol

Hung out a bit afterwards in the boite. Travelerb69 mentioned some prives (private home places) in Centro that I'd definitely like to check out some time -- much cheaper. I enjoy Solarium etc. but dropping R$300-400 every week is going to take a toll on my bank account. (By comparison, I was seeing a girl in LA 2x/week, for full nights / sleepovers, and paying her US $250 each week ... yay craigslist!).

Interesting - not a lot of gringos. Some younger Brazilian dudes acting loud. It's been pretty gringo quiet most of the places I've been so far this Oct.

Last time I was there L'uomo only allowed smoking in the bathroom/sauna. Monte Carlo only allowed smoking in the Whiskeria. 4x4 has a special room only for smoking. Unfortunately they lost the 2nd boate to make this smoking room which is much smaller than the 2nd boate was.

I did not see any violators. I do not know what the rule is inside the cabines.

They let you smoke on the big fire escape area at Solarium -- it's right outside the big doors at the end of the boite that have the little fire-escape sign on them. Saw 5-6 dudes head out there at various points tonight.

Day 3 – Termas Monte Carlo (Rua Hilário Gouveia, 19, Copacabana)

My previous visits to Monte Carlo have been memorable, especially my last visit back in Oct 2009 when I did it with twins! That was one of the best experiences I ever had:.) so I was looking forward to this visit.

- Arriving at Monte Carlo –

Got there about 18. 30, changed into a bathrobe as usual and went upstairs to the bar. One thing I always noticed about this place is that there tend to be more afro/mulatta girls here but I do prefer white/Caucasian girls and sometimes you find a few gems like the twins from my last visit?. Flavia (GDP I met from Centaurus) had told me she had worked in Monte Carlo before and that the twins were no longer there, a shame, I would've liked to have met them again.

Anyway, got to the main bar and as usual there were a bevy of girls in their customary high heels dotted across the room. I scanned the room a bit and have to say I was disappointed that I didn't see any girls I really liked.

Besides what Edward M said I didn´t see anyone smoke any cigarettes in Centaurus when I was there in March. I was told that Solarium still allows smoking so I never went there. A couple of Brazilian guys ignored the non-smoking policy in 4x4, and they were just next to me so I asked them to put out their cigarettes. They were pretty drunk and didn´t care, they laughed and continued smoking. I moved on to another part of 4x4 and I don´t know how the staff would have dealt with this. I didn´t bother to tell them.

Last time I was at Solarium people went outside to smoke through the door in the boate at the other end from the bar.

The guys at 4x4 may have been police. I hear they make up a large percentage of the Brazilian clientel and of course do not follow any rules they find inconvenient.

Supposedly, the new Help club is open. One of my GDP friends told me today on MSN. It is located near the Copa Palace on the corner of Atlantica Ave and Republic of Peru (two story club). If anyone is in Rio can you pass by and let us know how it is?

The only two story I see on google view at Av. A and Rep. Peru look like it was a daycare center about 6 months ago! If anyone has intel please let us know. I'm there 11/19.

Do you (does she) mean it's actually "HELP" just moved to a new location, or an alternative, like the Balcony bar? Hopefully it's really new Help, but we will see.
