Will be in Moscow for the next few weeks. Anyone interested in meeting, drinking, and discussing, chasing, and lying about girls?

Posts: 434Ibis Hotel/ Looking respectful
I liked the Ibis Hotel at Pavletskaya. Small hotel with newer rooms and very girl friendly. Lots of true business men with an occasional tour group. Its out of the center but when I stayed it offered some summer bargains. If you stay at hotels like Korston, you will already be categorized as a monger if you meet somebody normal. That's just me.
Off the subject, but here's a tip for some. I spent my first night at Cosmos Hotel(Dump, don't go there). That evening I just had to check out these legendary Moscow prostitute bars so off I went to NightFlight. When I was chatting the devs in this place, they of course asked me what I was doing in Moscow. Like every other monger, I had some crap about being a banker. When they asked me what hotel I was staying at, I responded the Cosmos Hotel. Well, keep in mind I'm one heck of a Sicilian bull shiter, my charade was up and they knew I was in Moscow to monger. Even with prostitutes, I do not like being associated with mongering in peoples eyes.
So how did I get the stink off of me and make sure that I did not skeeve anybody, be it taxi driver, bar girl, somebody I meet on street? First, I changed my hotel to where business men stay. Second, I almost never say this crap anymore about being banker or some business executive. When people asked me why I was there from that day on, I would always respond that I met a Russian girl in my hometown and now I am just a fool chasing a girl half way around the world. Anybody and everybody will always understand the foolish actions of somebody in love.
May not seem very informative, but if your going travel the world to seek out some tail, you might as well try to immerse yourself into the culture without anybody looking down at you.

Korston is a little bit far from everywhere (no metro station in this street), but ok. You need to meet your guest on the floor, because the floor locks with a card. Lift has no card. Security check handbags and use metallic detectors like in the airport. But in general the stuff let people come and go quite easily, because there are a lot of restaurants both down and upstairs, a night club and before this hotel was famous for casino (which is now closed). A small crowd downstairs is a normal thing for this place.

Monday is students night and cheap drinks as well.

I went last week and the basement was PACKED full of people. About 1:1 guy:girl. Very young (like 21 and under) crowd. Being foreign and over 30 I felt a bit out of place.
Anyone pull from here on students night?

I personally had not experience with this place after renovation, but I heard that it depends on the shift. Sometimes they don't pay attention, but sometimes stop and ask questions. Especially on the way back. And they may ask passport scan. Same as before.

Seems a nice boutique hotel, a bit overpriced, yet surely a bit negotiable (got a rate at 4000 rubles net at Korston BTW, as it is ranked at 230us$++ in your site)

Thanks for the list of hotels. Have you any experience with this new remodel of the Ukraina hotel, now operated by Radisson?

I envy you, living in Moscow. You can just drop in anytime you feel like it. It's true, you never know what you might find in HD and it's a real luxury to be able to check it out and leave if there is nothing interesting, knowing that you can check again tomorrow, or next week.
Most of us don't have that much time, we're there for a few days and have to make the most of what little time we have. Keep us updated with all the good (and bad) things you find, so we can be prepared when it's our turn.
