I will be staying at Atlantico Copacabana from 2 Feb to 10 Feb. My 7th trip to Rio within the last 3 years. Also mongered in Buenos Aires, Medellin, DR, San Jose, Panama, Cuba etc.

I will also be in Alphaville during that time frame. From past history there is nothing going on in that town. It was once described to me here as a "soul-less gated community". That description was spot on! Best bet is to take a taxi back to Sampa and hit the clubs. It can be a bit pricey (about $50 US) but if you're willing to split the cost then its a good option.
