Part of the trip I took a bus, other parts Bush taxis. Bus is ok, bish taxi very crowded and not for the faint hearted. Over the border you have to walk, but no big problem. If I remember right total travel time should be about 15 hours.

Road conditions are quite good for africa.

I have to agree with you brother, these tales cannot be the work of a Koinange street malaya. I have spent most of my life in Nairobi, and have been with numerous working girls. This post is dedicated to a particular audience. Western white colleagues facing Nairobi for the first time. It is not a guideline for locals (they know much better than anybody else) and the rules applicable to them are different than those applicable to a muzungu. Being a white, European monger for the second time in Kenya, and having available local knowledge (Kenyan colleagues) , I thought to provide some guidelines, based on what I know and what I experienced.

First, the facts.

Arrived on Sunday afternoon, and went more or less straight to Simmers, a place where I found unconditional fun last time I was there. Got a beer, sat down, and started to look around. As usual, within 10 minutes a girl approached me, Julie. Small. 27 why / o (she said) , one child, definitely drunk. Started to chat, good vibes.

She was not a stunner by all means, but I had a good feeling about her. She was not in for business, and my attempts to gather an offer did not result in much of a result. She seemed to like me, and she wanted to spend the night with a muzungu (white guy) , even for free. We went back to my place, Chester House, walking (that is why I have chosen the place, walking distance, no taxi needed). Harassed on the way by the usual beggars (women with children on their back) , but I could not care less, they are harmless. Spent the night with her, and paid her with a kiss and a promise to be back with her later in the week.

On Monday, back to Simmers, found Julie back, this time more sober. Same story, this time agreed on a 1500 KES, good sex. She provides a decent BBBJ, and she is a hot little woman.

2. Simmers girls are not freebies and not pro, somewhere in the middle. They are in for money, but if they do not find anybody they are happy to spend the night drinking beer and chatting.

3. Girls have a relaxed approach to safe sex. Both Julie and Lena made it clear that to have a raw muzungu dick inside them wasn't a problem. At all. I obviously declined, but you must be aware of this matter.

4. All girls at Simmers have some fascinating story to tell. Most of them say they have a job (even a shop of their own) , and present themselves as 'I like you, I love you, you are so funny and handsome'. I discounted all their stories at 100, and I advise you to do the same. IMHO, lying and bullshitting is an art in Kenya and in Africa as a whole, just do not believe anything you hear from them. The funny thing is that they know you know they are BS you. On the other side, if you have a story on your own, you would know they know you are BS them. But as long as both know of the BS of the other, there is no problem. It almost feels as a undeclared competition on who has the most original BS to tell, keeping a straight face and without making it feel too real. I found it fascinating.

5. On the topic Simmers v. Madhouse, my take is that it depends on what you want. I like Simmers because it has a 'local' sphere, with very few muzungus around. Which is great for me, as the competition is low. Madhouse is more artificial, more expensive, and frequented by both whites and affluent locals. Girls are dressed to kill, but I suspect they are after money as first, second and third priority. Simmers girls like to have a muzungu, while Madhouse girls like to have the muzungu money. And at Madhouse, if you are not dressed up in style, there is a fair chance nobody will approach you. That means you have to approach them, putting yourself in a weak negotiating position.

6. Girls are not used to long sex sessions. Their way of lovemaking is passionate but short. Local guys, they told me, are able to have two-three orgasms per night, so they do not really care about spreading out sex for more than 10-15 minutes each time. Girls, after being loved for 30 minutes maximum, having a few orgasms (they cum easy) , expects you to shoot your load and fall asleep. Sex is considered, in general, as a time where she gets pounded without too many compliments for a little time until he comes. For muzungus like myself, used to completely different requirements from white girls (the longer the sex the better the lover) could find it difficult to cope with a girl who, after less than one hour altogether (arrival to the room to him orgasming) , feels like a train has hit her. Completely wasted and a bit shocked. While the hell are you not cumming? It is difficult to understand for them that, for me as well as for many other men, lovemaking is a pleasure in itself.

7. If you like anal sex, be aware that local girls in general do not even know what is it. Let's stay liking it or even trying it. After much sweet talking, I eventually convinced Lena to get a DATY with a bit of a finger in her butt (a technique that delivers incredible female orgasms when mastered) , but that was already unheard of, and felt strange to her. And if you like refined oral skills, you got to be lucky. However, they get 'hot' easily, enjoy preliminaries (deep and very wet kissing, and boy, they can kiss!) , and are enthusiastic lovers. They can take a well-endowed man, full power, without a winch. As long as it does not last too long each time.

8. At Simmers I found that the best technique is to be chosen v. Choose a girl. Because they are not hard pros, they do not necessarily fall for the dress, the shoes or the watch you wear. If you want to know what they expect from you, ask her how much would they like as taxi contribution and as a small sign of appreciation (a small gift for her. Means money, but without talking about money). You will get a figure, say 2000-3000 KES, and that will indicatively become the price per night. Beware however, no business is ever carved in stone in Africa. It is possible that the day after additional 'gifts' will be requested. Keep some spare change at hand.

10. Take into account that, for westerner standards, Nairobi scene is cheap. One Euro is 100 KES, so 3000 KES (a lot of money for a local girl) is just about 30 EURO. In Kenya there is a difference between local and gringo prices, as in all developing countries. If you are white, you are automatically rich. If you present yourself as, say, an English and a tourist, expect the level of gifts to go up. Kenyan girls are not stupid.

11. While cheap in comparison to developed countries, you (as western guy) must consider that you cannot spoil the market for locals, even if you can easily afford a 10. 000 KES shag. Keep prices down. One way of doing it (the way I used) is to present yourself as coming from a 'strange' country (I chose Singapore) , in Nairobi looking for a job (means unemployed and penniless) , and negotiating from there. It worked nicely for me. After all, if they tell you stories (like I love you baby after 10 minutes of pointless conversation) you can do the same, can't you?

12. Be nice to people, it is highly appreciated and it will reward you. There is a lot of cheating and lying going on, but it belongs to the environment. Find the right girl, and you will find a hot lover available to spend the night with you every night, for a modest compensation, and with a lot of fun for both.

13. Be prudent. Nairobi centre is not dangerous, but if you get wasted on local beer (Tusker, it is stronger than it seems) , walk around in confusional state, and drop your guard, it is almost guaranteed somebody will try to abuse the situation. Either scamming or stealing. Prepare your scene well, hide your belongings, avoid taxis if you can walk to and from destination, or negotiate taxi fares in advance. Nairobi is not London or Hamburg, all business agreements are about how fool the one is v. The other. So try to look as smart, experienced, and in the know as you can.

Concluding, I had a lot of fun in Nairobi, and I could easily consider the place as my 'retirement' option. I genuinely like local people, and I find local women much more feminine than the spoiled, neurotic, and high-maintenance 'ladies' in Europe. Kenyan girls DO like sex, even within a P4P situation.

I came across this blog, supposedly written by a Nairobi hooker, working on Koinange Street with stories about the adventures of a working girl in Nairobi.

If it's really written by the girl she must have at least an university education, looking at the style and the "philosophies" of the short stories.

On the other hand it might come from a clever journalist (or probably ghost-writer) , also because it seems to be a somehow commercial undertaking, as one can subscribe to the stories, listen to audio-clips or even order an "E-book", all for money of course, all be it just a few shillings.
