You want to save money in Cartagena do these few things.
1] Bring your own soft cooler from USA buy beers for 1250 pesos each 75 cents I buy 2 cases and ice. I hand them out like candy to chics. And Tony gets a few. Lmfao
Been there done that with Tony and his micounted beers and such someone else can be his blow up doll.
2] Avoid using tout at beach. It will cost you double. Girls are 50k to 100k at beach any more than that you got dork stamped on your forehead.

I have gotten some PMs and seen some debate on this forum regarding costs and figured I would add my 2 cents.
I tried to post a more detailed analysis but lost the connection before it would post but here is a recap.
Cheap but good food alternatives
Things are obviously cheaper if you are with a wingman as you can get bottle service at the bars, share the cost of the apartment and beach umbrellas.
Everyone knows about Riquisimo you can get a delicious shishkebob plate for 10, 000 pesos or the specials for 12, 000 pesos. Both are your best options for quality and cost.
I go to Julias for breakfast. Scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, coffee and fresh squeezed juice for 11, 000 pesos.
Bakery across the street from Torre Centauro will sell you a ham and cheese sandwich for 2, 000 pesos. Not a bad option for a cheap lunch.
Beach costs
I only pay 8, 00 for a tent and 2 sit down chairs. Maybe an extra 4, 000 if you want lie down chairs. 30, 000 for the hour massage. 2,500 for an aguilla or 3, 500 for an Aguilla light. 2,000 for a bottle of water.
Make sure you have an agreement on the price of everything before you order or take it.
On this note, Tony is a complete waste at this point. He only charged me the prices quoted above but would still harrass and annoy me all the time for tips and free beers for him. Not to mention the disgusting nose blowing thing he does while touching your drink. He really didn't seem to have a lot of hot girls around in fact Jayson had a much better stable.
I met some friends that had been sitting with him for a few days and what he was charging them was outrageous! Not to mention that even with the 250% prices he would lie to them about how many drinks they had, then screw up the math even more and demand a tip on top of that! I saw him fleece them for 120,000 for something that should have been 40,000. The look of terror on his face when he saw me sit with them was priceless! He even asked me in Spanish not to say anything to them and offered to give me drinks for free.
When I told my friends about this their response was "I don't care about the money I'm on vacation" This is an attitude I often share but not when I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. My response to them was why not pay whats fair and then give a big tip if you feel generous. In fact why be generous with the guy trying to screw you and lying to your face. Go sit with someone honest and reward them!
Alcohol
Ron de Medellin is inexpensive rum and never leaves me with a hangover. If you can get bottle service this is usually your best option. I like starting my night off with a few drinks at home, then dinner then off to Donde Fidel. A small bottle of Ron costs 40, 000 pesos. In the clubs its between 60, 000-90, 000.
In Total
If you are travelling with a wingman and are very budget oriented you can still have a great time in Cartagena eat well, drink quite a bit, and have a pro every day for about 270, 000 (lodging included).
I spent about 450, 000 on average on the days I took a pro home and I really didn't feel that I deprived myself of anything at all. In fact I ate where I pleased and drank probably to excess.
I cannot imagine spending more than 900, 000 a day lodging included if traveling with a friend. This includes 2 pros a day at 200, 000 each.

The 2 best daytime options for quick pussy, when a ship is in are Rosario (like the islands) and Lindas Chicas. Lindas Chicas is more of a lively bar. 160K on site, Rosario is 15K on site. Sme jewels usually available, usually open at 1-2 PM.

Posts: 4Visiting Cartagena for One Day
Hey Guys. I'm an middle-aged fellow, who'll be in town for one day as part of a cruise stopover.
My idea is to walk around el centro, have a few beers, a nice lunch and then visit a local place for some fun with a chica.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

There's 11 of us coming from various parts of the East coast all meeting up in Miami then on to Cartagena.
When do you return to Cartagena from El Rodadero?
Look me up we're there until the following week.

With the nons last summer in CTG I struck out using LatinAmericanCupid. 0 for 5 out of 5 where I actually got their digits, but I am a bit older. As you say Cartagena is not the easiest for non-pros, I have found Medellin difficult too so far. Lima, Peru for nons is a little harder than it used to be but much easier than these places for the guys with more age or lesser game.

Does anyone know if Ibatama is chica friendly? Sounds like a good deal. Cheap, clean, a / c, ect in Bocagrande.
