Thanks a lot gentlemen, for sharing useful information on Batam. I am fortunate to have a couple of nights there in mid July, and come armed to the teeth with useful information. Batam seems different from southern Philippines and will be interesting for sure.

One thing that might be obvious or that I might have overseen though; for some reason I am sitting on a bunch of US dollars that needs to be spent. I am sure there are plenty of females that will offer assistance but is there any particular practice as of where to exchange these USD best? Will the rates fluctuate, depending and where and when I exchange?

Thanks for advise. This is lesson learnt for me and I will plan my next trip wisely.

Actually the trip is planned 2 months ago and the date of the trip is simply choose. I don't know there is no fun during Ramadhan period in Batam.

Since the date and flight cannot be change, so I still go on and try to get more information during Ramadhan.

Maybe you can just pop over to Singapore and Geylang if you are bored?

The boat is 45 minutes and seems to run hourly.

Anyone recommend Tanjung Balai, Tanjung Pinang or Bintan during Ramadan period? Is it same situation as Batam during Ramadan period?

The only places that have any action are the Pubs (Last Pub, Bar Fly etc). The hostesses at these places will usually go back to your place but you have to wait till they finish work (2pm). I am not to sure how this will work during Ramadan as Pubs etc close at Midnight.

Get the number of the gir; l you like so you can do follow-up.

The Goodway. Nice location and good rooms. Don't go for the bottom level of rooms go for one up, I don't know what they call it but its much nicer. The breakfast is good for an Indonesian hotel.

Used to be known as Mandarin Regency. Old but quite comfortable room they have. Away fm nagoya area though. Behind got two joint for gals picking.

I want to stay at Furama it was full so I book Mecure about 40 USD same cost as Furama but not in Nagoya but room is better, Panomara is also at Nagoya but cost more about 58 USD there are many agent in batam ferry center you can purchase the voucher save you about 20 % off the hotel rate.
