I've eaten at Susana's a bunch of times with no problems. I never knew it was named Susana's until Mr. Gogo gave directions. I've also eaten at PJ's a lot because they were open real late and never got sick but their food was AWFUL.

What's left? Ok, if you're at Classico's then I suppose you can "move" to Latino's, or if you're at Passions then you can "move" to CMP, but then what? What's your next "move" because "they" are going to be there too. I guess you can troll some of the smaller bars that are either empty or are full of European men and NO women, or try something dominican like el flow and deal with the pistols and fist fights, or shoot for a haitan "rub and tug" at one of the smaller "salons" if even still open. Sounds Lovely, doesn't it?

You want the real bottom line? Here it is, those that travel to and stay in Sosua are more or less "prisoners" to the same clubs, pubs and *houses if they are looking for women. And the more people like you that run away from the problem, the more they take over the town. Which sadly, has already happened.
If Sosua is "prison" I'm about to go on a fucking serious crime spree and get myself locked up.

I've spent shitloads of nights partying in El Flow and I've only seen one fight, a big one but only one. Shit happens in there no doubt but it's not quite the wild west. The bouncers have baseball bats hidden up in the roll up door and aren't afraid to use 'them, they don't let people misbehave in there. I love it there so please UkTraveler stay the fuck out and leave all the fun for me.

I can only relate my own positive experiences here. I'm not trying to sell Sosua to anybody, but I'm obviously not alone in looking foward to my next trip there.

Research this board, like I did, and you'll find a wealth of good info on how to get the most out of Sosua and the surrounding area.

Of course, if it's not for you, I'm sure you can find other options.

But don't cry in my beer, pal.
Well said Oakie. I've been to Sosua ten times in the last year and I was never wanting for girls that's for sure. I leave for Sosua in 8 hours, we'll see. I'll be the fat gringo hanging and dancing in El Flow with a bevy of girls on his arms. If anyone is around pop in and say "hola".

No need to research anything as I've lived it all there. As you are older,"wifed-up" and (apparently) newer to Sosua than I, perhaps you can't fully appreciate the situation. Nevertheless, one man's vomit is another man's meal, so far be it for me to put anymore "tears in your beer", er ah pal.

    That's what I'm talking about!

Much thanks to savepros for fotos of asses rather than one's of pancakes. Now I'm missing the DR again, rather than getting an overwhelming impulse for IHOP. LOL.

Here is some motivation as a friendly reminder of what those Haitianas are capable of (sorry, no "plate-of-food pics" in this post). As you can tell from the background (s) I've had breakfast at NG and TL more than a little bit, so I figure myself an expert on the subject (a "smiley" would be inserted here if they were still allowed, LOL).

    Peace and Chicken Grease!

Good Chicken, beans, and rice for 300 pesos. But before U-turn in the driveway is Ollies new spot. He doesn't set up till late look for the white food truck in the lot. Pulled chicken sandwich, with melted cheese, tomatoe, lettuce, onions and yes hot sauce. All for 200 pesos. And Ollie speaks perfect english. Frannie you are there, please give us your review.

    Manizales911,

No doubt the make it rain crowd does exist and it's not goin anywhere no time soon. I see it all the time here in Vegas where people from all races, and culture come to the club spend 10 thousand dollars on a table and start throwing money in the air but just like anywhere I go when I see these catz make it rain I pay it no nevermind. Let them over pay for pussy and be the suckers. If they want to pretend like money isn't important then so be that but I like yourself know the value of a dollar and I be damn if I go and just throw it in the air just to impress some hoes. I rather spend my dollars on a broad getting on her knees serving me while I'm in my Captain Morgan pose LOL.

And as far as the guy with the boombox I would've went up to dude and ask him nicely to turn off that boombox. If he refused then I would've cut it off myself and if dude wanted to bust a move then so be it BUT either way that boombox is turning off. In any case that should've been the owner or managers job to tell him to turn that bullshit off and stop being a jack ass.

    Drlawyer,

Very good valid points! We all have to do our part, the little things like having home training etc to ensure the grown mans Disneyland we call Sosua endures. But we can't worry about the next mans action as well. Other then these young catz living out there long time fantasy of being in a rap videos no one has yet (knock on wood) said that they've done anything bad (I. E. Fighting, murder etc) other then having their pants sag halfway off their ass and playing music in an inappropriate time. If you see a kid doing something that's putting salt to the game pull him aside and talk to him. You'll be amazed how these young catz will listen.

Hell I have a couple young catz right now about to hit Sosua this upcoming week asking me about the dos and donts of mongering. And sure enough they wanted to rock and give away the ed hardys shirts, be flashy with the rings and watches while chillen in the VIP throwing money in the air 'BUT' after I told them that's not cool and explained to them the reasons they decided to tone it down. Now at first site you would think here we go again with some more make it rain fellas but these catz are nothing more then hardworking, good people that's been saving up there money for the past year and is ready to live out there fantasy. All was needed was some proper guidance so they don't put salt in the game. And in essence that's what this board is about. Knowledge on proper mongering. Cus I sure didn't learn threw osmosis. All the senior OG's that's been posting for years are the reason why my past couple trips been fun and enjoyable. I shudder to think how things would turn out in Sosua if it wasn't for this board. I probably be another Western Union statistic LOL.

AMEN! Its all about the money! 'AT ALL' times.

    Oakie,

This what happens when you have to deal with american woman for a year LOL. A brother gets tense LOL. Less then 30 days before I'm back in the promise land.

My man! Right on Q for another smart ass but uninformative comment. Mr. Gogo I think where done here.

My point exactly. Like Chief told me, 'Each one, Teach one'.

And on that note gents ill be in Haiti from Aug 5th-9th and then from there ima travel to Sosua and chill to the 12th. If any one wants to get up with me for some drinks hit me up. Shout-outs to Sovereign, DeepMmpactt and TomJackin.

    Peace
Cooiie you are onto something big. Check your Email and you will see the promised land is waiting on us.

OK, I was able to find this which might make more sense:

Insisting on the call to strike.

Government and business organizations have expressed their opposition, but Foro Social Alternativo, a group best known for its organization of national protest strikes, said the call for a 24-hour nationwide strike on Mon. 11 July is on. The organization demands the government reduce electricity tariffs, increase public employee wages by 30, and change the petrol law that is pegged to petrol increases worldwide. It comes after Congress approved a taxation package that would generate an additional Road$9. 4 billion to the government so it can compensate its fiscal deficit.

Superintendent of banks Ng Cortinas estimates each day of strike costs the economy Road$1 billion. Luis Abinader, vice presidential candidate for the PRD, said the strike is a call by citizens to the government to stop wasteful spending of government resources.

This would be the first strike call for this year. Strike calls had lost their attraction after becoming so common, the general public began to ignore them.

Maybe I'm wrong but this seems a bit counter intuitive. If business is slow and businesses are closing and laying people off, why would folks be protesting for a day off? People talk about the so-called "crackdown" but high airfare prices and less flights to POP might be as much to blame, if not more, especially if you consider that businesses in POP are being affected as well. I'm interested to see what the local press says about the protest. Thanks for the update.
