On the Manila board I was mentioning this morning how interesting it is that we were talking about nursing exam pass rate. I also indicated that our Philippines boards frequently tend to get talking about info other than sex, such as donuts, best ATM's, cities to visit, cleanest beaches, where to find a mechanic, how to buy a condo, and indeed wifi.

I think the fact that we do have other subjects (which have generally arisen as part of a sex related topic) suggests we may all have a brain rather than a one directional purpose.

Talking here only about sex would quickly make this board as dull as dishwater and as boring as the KL board is, hich is one example of a truly boring board.

The fact we can converse about more than pussy (whilst still endlessly chasing puss) at least indicates the variety we have in the participting members.

The info you have posted is good, and many of us who live / have lived in the Philippine are fully familiar with all that you have said.

    Next topic. LOL

But you could argue the time you spend posting anything is not to your advantage. And if everyone had that attitude, there wouldn't be much to enjoy here at ISG.

Yes, I realize posting photos poses more risks. I've cut down drastically on my own photo posting for various reasons. C"mon Red kilt, surely you can go back a few years and fine a safe pic to post. X.

I laughed as I could see you there in the town, phone in your hand as the girl is leaving. Classic image.

I do visit the provinces but take a girl or 2, I would never take a girl back to her home as they will get a "reputation", I ask girls to meet me in cebu and once in cebu I tell them to text me once they are at the mall (often I not go till they are there). I pay their fares and ask if they have family they can stay with. I do this as pina have no concept of time is money, all jobs are day rates so they count in days not hours. I have 2 gf live with me one is 4yrs the other 1. 5 going "strong" I still hunt and use fb rather than dating sites. I even pay girls and gays to get me girls as 500 gives me good results, the girls get me lookers with good attitude, the gays seems to get me great lookers. I am always telling the girls I pay them to leave. I go to bars for my gfs they like going there and I do not mind finding a few from time to time.

Like I point out I post pics of my girls. There has been many guys here who post and never put the photos to show.

Yes, it can be nice to travel the countryside. Its worked fine in the past. This trip was worse in the province. Like Stroker said, you keep a long list of contacts in your phone or computer as backup. That worked for the most part. I'm just used to having to use it. In CDO, I had both this problem, and also problems contacting backup girls with my Smart card. Live and learn. Makes me want to take Frenzy's advice and stay in Manila / Cebu.

    Frenzy3,

The real question should not be why, but why not?

Why not travel around the Philippines. To go forth and experience new and different cities meeting new people. Whats so wrong with that? If you are happy with p4p girls and it works for you that's cool, but by your logic every guy should go straight to AC or Mango avenue with no need to go anywhere else.

Personally I am not that big on p4p and while it does serve a purpose on occasion, I prefer to meet non p4p women. Yes sometimes non p4p women will cost me more, give me more headaches and every once in awhile I will have to endure the odd scam, tanduay request for papa or money for school fees but thats just part of the game. I like non p4p GFE for me but to each there own.

I also refuse to meet any woman in the Province and prefer to meet in a city where I have a little more control of the situation. That way I will not waste my time and money trying to find a small house on a dirt road with no signs and a girl who is giving me directions by text message that has never been out of her village. I do not venture deep into the Province to meet no matter how amazing the woman or what they promise.

Hmm I didn't mention wifi in this post, sorry, so sorry, but I did mention text message. Partial marks prehaps?

    Westcoast,

I have had this happen to me before, mostly in the Province and smaller cities. It's best to have a long list of backup contacts and know the flight schedule in advance so you can get out of town if you end up meeting women who just want to take pics and brag to family and friends they met you.

I am always nice and respectful and thank them for meeting and as I walk away I get busy on my mobile txting the next one on my list. A few times the original contact that earlier refused to go back to the hotel room will txt me and want to meet again. She will insist this time she is ok to come to my room but from my experience its more bola and I ignore the txt.

So sorry this post did not contain wifi info.

Only admin can make new forum threads (as pointed out before ). As for the wifi it is a cebu related issue.

    Mortman,

The MCI airport has free wifi in most of the departure areas, with the exception being the lower connectivity around the ground gates. Gates 7 and 8? The wifi does have frequent outages and it leaves pax searching for an independent source of wifi and the small restaurant / smoking section will often tell pax they do have wifi but its the same source feed from MCIA.

In reality the attendant will only repeat what she / he has been trained to do and say, and any kind of outside-the-box thinking is not only looked down upon, but seen as working harder than they have to. If I am not sure the answer provided is correct I spend a few extra minutes asking more questions to clarify the situation. Sometimes this helps, sometimes it just leads to frustration. Very often when a customer service person does not know the answer they will tell you what they think you want to hear so they do not look dumb and lose face in front of you and the other employees. Welcome to the Philippines.

The only independent wifi source as far as I know inside MCIA departure arera, is inside the Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Lounge. If you know the password you can sit close to the lounge and log on.

Since the Forum has gone so far down hill

I thought I would add some infor for people actually looking for information about finding girls.

Top spots this is my opinion I have not seen all places, just where I have been.

Freelancers. Ayala Mall, Robinsons Mall, SM Mall. In my opinion in that order.

    Streetwalkers.

Are all over. I think the best looking ones are near mango around 7 to 9 pm.

Downtown has lots, tons of drug users though. Be choosey. Just hang out on the street where the century hotel is and you will see them all time of day. There are a lot of cheap foreign men staying down here so they all hang around.

Right up the hill from downtown is the crap hole squaters complex jonquerra. Not really impressed with the girls here last few times I went through. Lock your doors if you are in a cab. I know most people will say its safe but do you want to be the foreigner that gets robbed I don't.

And the number one place to find woman that look great but did not pass their weekly test. So yes bare backers you get an extra prize it is Juliana's disco in Mango square.

    Two Great tips.

Here is a few good tips, if you are changing money at ayala mall go to the basement where the grocery store entrence is. There is a money changer down here that payes about. 30 a peso more than the one on the first floor. See I just made you all some money.

Last tip and this is how to get hot woman for less, Go in the Arena near closing buy a few beers, don't bring any woman to your table cost $$$. The girls here have cell phones in their hands. Get some numbers. I have done it. Its easy.

I know I am going to get attacked for this but I don't care. You posters that come on here and post about all this bs stuff that has nothing to do with sex in cebu are just ruining the forum for those that are looking for info. Girl: just I want to meet a foreigner. Never I meet. I want your eyes hahaha.

Me: so, you brought me all the way to the province so you could see my face only?

    Girl: yes.

    OMG.
They are such pretty little liars. Ahhahaha. Someone told me that they probably learn to lie because that is what it takes to eat?

But yes they learn to manipulate like children.

I don't believe anything they say. But if they give me some kind of love and affection then I am happy?

Besides where can I find 18 19 20 year old girls that will love an old fat man like me?

    EVEN IF its a lie.

Tell me more lies. But yes be careful about what you do based on their bs.

But I first got to the Philippines. Singapore to cebu about five years ago.

This was because a girl was lying to me on a chat. We chatted for about three months or more.

As I never wanted to go to the Philippines.

I went to meet her and I never did. She never show up. Hahahhaah.

But then my first expierence in the airport of cebu.

I walk out to get a taxi.

Girl comes up and asks where I am going.

She then say is your wife or your girlfriend with you?

When I said no I don't have wife or girlfriend.

She was all excited and told me she was single also / then she said she is available for dinner.

Wow I knew from then that I was going to like cebu and the Philippines.

Even though I went there as part of some girl trying to scam me.

So once there I met lots of girls and had lots of fun

Girl: I did not say that.

Me: yes you did. I can show you the chat transcript.

I find this quite common. Not just the internet thing, but in general. Much moreso with pinay than pinoy. Stayed recently at the Piermont Inn in CDO. Website says they have free wifi. Each room description lists free wifi. Before I reserve a room online, I email back / forth several times with a woman named Arvie about room details. On 3 separate occasions I ask if they have 'free wifi in the rooms'? She answers 'yes' each time. I reserve the room. Upon check-in, the wifi in my room is working fine. The next day, a butt-load of conventioners start checking in, and about noon my wifi cuts out. I take the laptop and start walking about my floor, up / down the halls. No signal on my side of the building, but a strong signal on the other side, where the larger rooms are. I walk downstairs (with the laptop) and ask the receptionist where my signal went. She says there is only wifi in the lobby. A pinay walking by behind me overhears and says no, hers is working fine upstairs in her room. The receptionist says its available only in the lobby. The woman insists it is working in her room. I ask for the manager and the pinay and I explain where the signal is.

Mgr: no sir, your signal strength won't work in the rooms. We set it that way. Use in lobby only.

Me: your website says in the rooms. Also Arvie.

Mgr: no sir, it does not. Arvie did not.

Me: I can show you the site right now on my laptop? I can show you emails from arvie. It worked this morning until an hour ago.

The other pinay chimed in its working in her room right now. The Manager called a guy over. In visaya, poorly translated I'm sure:

Mgr: why is wifi working upstairs now?

Guy: I will fix it. It will take time.

I thought he was going to fix it so it would work for my side of the building. Not. He turned it off everywhere except the lobby later in the day. I was steamed and used it in the lobby. I left a day early because of this. Did the conventioneers complain? No, they brought their laptops to the lobby in droves. The pinay who previously had a signal, had by now lost it. In talking to her and her friends, they were unhappy with this, and her friend said probably they did it to keep the guests from overloading their capacity. I was steamed at the hotel's lying about the issue. Clearly it worked for a day. Then for 1/2 the hotel (my side) it got cut off. Then later for all the rooms. The next morning I checked out a day early."You leaving because no wifi in your room?" Yes ma'am. Also I asked to speak to Arvie, who denied she had told me there was free wifi in the rooms. I had previously printed her email (the reservation info) , and right there it was when I showed her, where she said 'yes we have free wifi in the rooms', on 2 occasions. I called the manager over and showed her.

    Mgr: sorry sir.

Me: yes. You are. Is the term bola in your language?

    Mgr: sorry sir.

Me: will you be changing the website so it does not say free wifi in the rooms?

Mgr: no sir we are getting wifi in the rooms.

Me: like right after this convention you will turn it back on?

    Mgr: sorry sir.

Me: yesterday you said the website didn't say free wifi. Today you admit that it does?

    Mgr: sorry sir.

Mort, just like in your case,"Sorry sir" seems to be the catch-all response for any bad situation, especially getting caught in a lie or any unknown. More later.

You had me chuckling as I read this, as I feel your pain. It's my inability to consistently tolerate this sort of situation that makes me wonder about my ability to survive happily here in the longer term. I've been here for almost 8 years, and I figure if I was going to learn to accept it, and not to let it bother me, I would have learned already. It's a good litmus test to use when considering this place as a possible retirement site, since similar situations repeat themselves in different contexts frequently. Such as with almost every retail experience, from buying shoes to buy groceries. When you extend the circle of complete ineptitude to almost every facet of society, from government agencies, the cops, the utility companies, and then factor in the massive corruption and dishonesty, it can be a bit tough to take, no matter that your life here may be terrific in other respects.

I guess the ultimate question, for all of us who live here, is whether the general insanity and failed nature of the place is more than counterbalanced by the admitted delights, and the reasonably high quality of life one can lead. Maybe the answer is different for all of us. Of course, a lot of the equation also relates to where and how you live.
