It appears that Sosua HardCore Tricknological Psychosexual Thinking is in the mindset of some of the new chicas. And this is detrimental. SERlOUSLY DETRIMENTAL TO THE OVERALL VIBE OF BARBA NEGRA. And Barba Negra Classics are aware of it.

I will continue the report later when I get home.
I just got back from my BB's trip, last flight before the hurricane 2 weeks ago. I have been going 4 to 5 times a year for several years so I have a good feel for the ups and downs and the new girls were awesome so please explain.

I admit I'm not very good with distances, but I'm pretty sure El Furgon couldn't be more than a couple of hundred yards beyond the rotary (roundabout).

Thanks for the Los Cangrejos info. Nice to see some different places get a mention here.

To find El Furgon coming from Sosúa direction, pass Playa Dorada on your right, then Costa Dorada with its prominent casino, and you will see the large baseball stadium on your right, set back a bit with a grassy area in front. Immediately after the stadium is a large gyratory ("roundabout" for us Brits). Don't follow most of the traffic along "the" main road as M Milone suggests. That veers a bit to the left towards the hospital. But take "a" main road (it's dual carriageway) called Avenida Luis Ginebra which is straight ahead into the town centre. El Furgon is quarter mile down there on your right.

On Wednesdays and (I believe) Fridays they offer a "special" of five Presidente Grandes in an ice-bucket for 300 pesos. Cheap way to make new friends.

Furgon should have an accent on the "o" but the dumbass spell-checker here cannot handle some accents. My dictionary says it means a heavy truck such as an armored vehicle or a caboose. It is a popular name for bars in the DR, there is another one in Puerto Plata. Any of the Spanish speakers here can explain the connection with trucks? I am guessing that in the old days they used to sell the booze straight off the back of a truck and the locals would gather round for an impromptu dance and party, but I'm only guessing.

I was with 3 girls from the car wash / Saman, and surprisingly, when we spoke of compensation beforehand, they said to pay what I wanted. They were very happy with 2000 pesos
#1. The money change guys are not really a scam, but the exchange rate varies depending on how much money you change, so they will change smaller amounts at a higher rate and then arbitrage the deal by going to the money changing office and changing larger amounts at a more favorable rate. Do not buy Viagra or Cialis from them as their prices are ridiculous. Get it at Latino mini market on Calle Alejandro Martinez for much, much less.

#2. I too would be very happy to go with you for 2000 pesos. The girls would probably be fairly happy with 1000, though of course more is more and there are degrees of happiness.

One last thing about Saman. It stays open later than the other places, since the owner is some military guy. In the D. R, rank has it's privileges.

    Chica availability. Playa Dorada area

To be clear, Rio Verde is also hidden from the street. It is very close to Tropical car was, which is visible, on the same side of the road. At Rio Verde, chicas are available during the day also. At the car wash's, the girls are also available during the day, and the exit fee will be necessary; I paid 500 pesos. At Saman, I was also there during the day, and there were girls available, although it was slow and quiet. This was more of a normal place, not as obvious as Rio Verde. The girls at all three places were nice, and I'm excluding Rio Verde, since I wasn't with anyone from there this trip. You know the beauty of the barmaid / waitress girls, in that they are not hardcore, they have a legitimate job, and work hard. It's always good to gain a comfort level with them before asking them to leave. Mambo had some talent, and the girls are dressed normally, not like putas. Funny story regarding Rio Verde. I met some nice young, fresh talent there last November, not August as previously mentioned. I held her number, and contacted her on this trip. She was still there, but 8 months in that world can make you 'hard', and she was not the fresh, young girl from before, so I passed. Still nice though. Just a tip, so as not to be judged even more, I cut the A. I. Bracelet from my hand before venturing out to these places, and then reattach it when going back to the A. I. It's sad how 'they' try and rob us, given that we're foreigners. One thing to remember, this culture perceives you as a fool if you don't haggle. I don't like haggling, and avoid it in the states, but they expect it. It's funny, I'll argue with taxi drivers, etc. One of the girls I was with picked out 4 cd's, and the woman asked for 800 pesos. I laughed and explained no, and as I was walking to my car, I got the 200 peso price that I told her I normally pay. If you want to visit a regular Dominican joint, not far from Playa Dorada, head in the opposite direction, which I believe is west, and stay on the main road, past a large casino, and you will find El Furgon; nice music, small dance floor, and food. Nice local, regular talent. Remember that the Puerto Plata women are not as easy as the girls from the small towns, to which I'm accustomed. I will say that one night as I was leaving, one girl in a group of three asked me if I liked 'massages', and you know the rest.

well, i am starting this report having just taken off from sdq after a stay at bb's from august 17 to september 2. the trip was supposed to last to the 28th of august but due to irene affecting the nyc area, i could not get out until today (which i will talk about later in the report). i don't usually write trip reports, but since i had not been to bb's in over 4 years (having taken vacations to sosua strictly and to medellin) , i felt the need to write a detailed report since there have been major changes since i had been there previously. and these changes are serious. to all the bb's detractors, i could not fuck with the american and dominican ghetto ignorance that is now sosua this trip. not at all. i did not even step one foot in the place even for a visit. to hell with the hunt there for right now. it is a mess and i will not return until it returns to some semblence of the way it used to be which i doubt very seriously will happen. i met a guy at bb's who had to dip out on his crew in sosua because they were grown ass men (in their 40s) acting like fools disrespecting chicas and the like as well as another situation where he could have easily lost his life (he was bucked (shot) at for talking to some dominican dude's novia in front of classicos and chased by the dude on a motoconcho). yeah ignorance. well. let me start the report about bb's:

accomodations: my room was cleaned impeccably by the maid staff everyday. they did an excellent job as always. the pool was always clean. as was the jacuzzi which is still a great place to chill with the chicas. i did so on many occasions.

food: the food has improved 1000% since i was last there. the chicken salad, spaghetti, and sancocho are the bomb. also try the pork medallions and sea bass. delicious. the breakfast. perfect as far as i am concerned. i must give two thumbs up forever to the waitstaff and barstaff: lily, damaris, jacqueline, adrianna, ruth, and monica! these women work their asses off to give good service and should be commended. i ran a tab for food and drink. and it was high. but it got paid off at the end and it is all good. i really should pay as i go along on my next stay. but i get lazy on vacation.

    management (non-mamasans) :

i have to give a serious shout out to chris (the former night manager). this guy was and is a consumate professional throughout my stay intently listening to my concerns and immediately helping me with any issues i had (especially when i had to deal with jetblue about rescheduling my flight to get out of the dr. he had very good sense of the tenor and tone of the place based on my interactions with him and he will be missed.

the new night manager, cliff, is a real stand-up guy. tim spent much time showing him the ropes and this guy appeared to be focused on learning his new job. his addition the staff is indeed welcome. i could not see bb's every surviving or improving if management is not on point. cliff is going to be on point.

martha. slam dunk, grand slam home run, converts on 3rd down everytime. and gorgeous. enuff said.

captain tim. well if any of you guys know tim. you know that he busts his ass (physically and mentally) to keep the bb's ship afloat. and to be quite honest. no tim. no bb's. i can't see it.

    management (mamasans) :

flor: she speaks perfect english. highly organized. extremely mindful. and attentive to guests needs when they have chica issues. she is a professional. and she is extremely observant. of everything and everybody. also be aware that she is measured in her speech. focused. and does not go off on tangents when talking to guests. i tried. did not work. she is smart as a muthafucka. and if any of you guys try to talk to her into selling you some pussy (she is a cutie with some serious dookie on the back end of things). let me say this. don't even think about it. you might get embarrassed.

crystal: she understands english better than she can speak it. and just like flor, she is highly organized and attentive to guests needs when they have issues. i saw this first hand in a particular situation that dealt with another guest and a chica.

she is a little more tougher with the chicas than flor is. in other words, crystal is the bad cop and flor appears to be the good cop. at least from what i observed. i could be wrong. crystal has a kick ass personality. and very friendly with the guests as is flor. these two work well together and john needs keep them in their positions in order to keep the chicas in check which is going to lead into my review of the current chicas that i interacted with during the course of my stay. the ones i fucked and the ones i did not. don't forget that i was at bb's for over two weeks and was able to fuck a bunch of them and chill with them, observe their mannerisms, speech, body language, dress, and interactions with the guests and there are some startling observations that i made and information that i found out.

the most critical observation that i have made is in regard to some of the new chicas. and this is something that has been mentioned before but not in the way i am about to mention it. and this can cause some serious ass problems if flor and crystal are not dead ass serious about correcting some negative behavior or at least assist some of the newer chicas in modifying their thinking about the approach to their job.

it appears that sosua hardcore tricknological psychosexual thinking is in the mindset of some of the new chicas. and this is detrimental. serlously detrimental to the overall vibe of barba negra. and barba negra classics are aware of it.

i will continue the report later when i get home.
kudos for an excellent report. look forward to seeing the rest.

I actually noticed several 80 year old (read much older) European guys and their 20 year old significant others wearing matching wedding rings in Boca Chica a couple of days ago. I had to scratch my head because I have not really seen it in these parts before. In Thailand and PI it is quite rampant though.

I agree Blackbeards will probably save newbies money and is a good place to start in the DR. Once you know your way around you can get the same value cheaper elsewhere.

This comment makes me wonder how up-to-date your info is. Some guys like Rio Verde, some don't, but no-one would say it is "cheap" these days. What with the salidas you will be paying Sosúa prices for a limited selection of chicas.

I am not familiar with these three places. How up-to-date is this info? Could you give more precise locations, please?
My point is, that B. B. 's is a good place to start, but not a bad place to revisit. You may get the same value cheaper, but it may come with headaches and stress. I avoid the tourist areas, and mix with the locals. All I'm saying is that the locals may wear you down. I guess since they know me from previous trips, they 'cling' to me.

As for Rio Verde, I didn't take a girl from there this last trip, but last August, it was 1000 pesos on site.

As for locations, as you head towards Sosua from the Playa Dorada complex, let's say halfway to Sosua, before the airport, you will pass Rio Verde and Tropical on your left. Shortly after that, on your right, will be Mambo, and then shortly after that, on your left, will be Saman. Saman is hidden; it's not clearly visible from the road.

The bank inside La Sirena is Banco Popular. It has two advantages. They get a lot of gringo customers so speak more English than some banks. But the more important advantage is they stay open until 7. 00pm Monday to Saturday and until 12 noon on Sundays. This last has been a blessing to me more than once when I have forgotten to draw cash on a Saturday.

Man I love that store. My condo is near there and I hang out there often. It has a GNC, a cleaners, food court and banking. What I do is act like I'm talking on my phone in English when I see a group of girls. Some look at me and giggle, others ignore me and others ask where I'm from. Puerto plata is a hidden gem, lots of lonely women. Most trick but you can't use the Sosua approach. A lot of these girls use the internet to meet guys. But never mention Sosua to any of them, because you will have exposed yourself.
