It was my attempt to explain in English a newspaper article that appeared about me in the local Mexicali newspaper. This am around 6:30 crossed over to hit ATM Wells Fargo San Ysidro. Presently living in Rosarito. Even then, waited over an hour pedestrian line but no hassles USA customs going North, I reasonably respectable looking 67 year old living presently in 2000peso per mes departemento. Going South, however, different story. Four Ice agents. 3 male one female had group of about 20 people lined up just in front of turnstyle to Mexico! Asking stupid questions, do you have over $10, 000, why are you going to Mexico, etc, searching bags. After about 15 minutes, I had enough of this bs! I watched the turnstyle, I watched the agents eyes in the line carefully. They seemed very interested in the luggage of young, long haired American guy. Their eyes were on him and his bags. I was maybe 12 feet from the turnstyle. The did not yet have my I'd or would not have done this. As quietly as possible I slipped out of line. They yelled when they heard the squeek of the turnstyle! I moved faster did not look back, of course! The young Mexicana in Mexico the aduana agent, was smiling, laughing, dice bravo a mi! Maybe a little daring, a tiny bit foolish but felt like a man, not like a sheep, a dupe of what was once the greatest, most free nation in the world! True, Mexico has its problems for sure but strangely feel freer here. No, will not cross there, especially around same time for a awhile. If they have a photo of me, it is of my backside! LOL!

If you were planning a midweek trip to Tijuana, be advised that the San Ysidro port of entry. Both pedestrians and cars. Is currently closed (and according to the mayor's office may be closed for up to 12 more hours). You can get into Mexico, but to get out you'll need to go to the Otay crossing for now.

The canopy protecting people from the overhead construction collapsed and the POE has been closed since about 10:45am this morning. A 50 ft x 50 ft section collapsed that went from car lane 8 into the pedestrian processing area. 15 cars were damaged and 11 people went to the hospital. CBP has no official ETA on when it will reopen. You can check the status at CBP's website (http://apps.cbp.gov/bwt/).

nice report. i hate that hotels in general boot you out so early, i stayed in ticuan for like 2 weeks and i don't think there was a single night they had over 75% occupancy, but you can't stay past 1 or the place will crumble, every other hotel is the same though and it's annoying. i have to say if there was a passed out girl in my bed i couldn't resist especially in your situation but maybe it will pay off. it sounds like she didn't mention money at all, did you ever think about not paying her? probably best you did, i didn't pay one girl who came to dance with me at las pulgas but we didn't have sex so i felt like paying her to hang out was kind of ridiculous because it's not hard to find a girl to dance with you at las pulgas. i didn't hear from her again. ha ha. i tried that ricardos after recommendation from cabbie and i didn't like it, the fish tasted really fishy. sanborns is a little too bland but i still like it, i just wish they spiced things up a bit. thanks for the great report, for us far away guys who can't go when we want we appreciate it.
