Never run a tab in a hooker bar or strip club or anywhere else for that matter. When you pay drink per drink they catch on right away that there is no way to stiff you so they move on to the next guy. People will smirk at you for wanting to pay right away but PAY it no mind.

Demand to talk to the owner or the manger.

You will probably win with the credit card dispute. Even though they may have your credit card signature, you can claim that you signed it under duress. At the very least you can get it negotiated down to what you really drank.

We called this to the attention of the Bartender who snapped at us and said I'm not dealing with this and yelled for Security. 5 Security guards came over and we explained that this bill was completely wrong. They did not care and forced us to pay. I used my Credit Card so I will try to dispute. There is no way we could have had that many shots and drinks in a one hour period and we didn't buy drinks for girls or anyone else. This was a complete rip off and scam. Just be carefull and pay for each drink when you order.

It's often a chaotic scene there, especially at the Blue Marlin Bar. The bartenders take a tally when you run a tab but when it's crazy I wouldn't trust their accuracy. Not to mention people who walk out on their bill (unintentionally due to their drunken state or otherwise) and chicas trying to stick you with a month's supply of cigarettes and booze! Some guys who stay there charge everything to their room out of convenience but then have to spend the time combing through the grocery list of charges towards the end of the trip. It's tough to maintain your wits when you are downing shots, have both hands on a girl (s), and the hands of a chica or two in your lap or your pockets!

Thanks for the feedback, will definitely try their morning special, I can satisfy both appetites in one place!

(My bad, the police raid was Mar 2010 and not recent at all, I didn't pay attention to the date.)

I read somewhere there was a little police raid on HLH, that was on the massage / short time side I guess, not the actual hotel part where people stay. Is that correct?

What is the latest on these police interference. Putting their nose where it not belongs! I guess it' a fact of life and it happens occasionally to every place.

They have a full bar and tv's for sports so that would be the only missing item, a kitchen.

Just got back from a week or so in san jose. Weather basically sucked. Rained every single day. Outside the city wasn't as bad. Jaco was pretty empty during the day.

For action the Del Ray was the usual scene. Chicas asking for 100 but quickly negotiating down to 60, 70, or 80 depending on looks. Pretty much a buyers market down there. Lot of desperate girls looking for a quick score.

Sportsman's we found to be more fun in general than the fish bowl scene at the del ray. Good spot to grab a bite, watch some games, and pick up a fun girl.

Spent some decent time at hotel little havana and it's under new ownership. We actually chatted with the old owner who was on his way back to chicago having sold the business. Rooms at the HLH look pretty decent and you get a good discount on chicas if you stay there. They also have a nice cigar area setup run independantly by an expat. Very friendly gentleman and he gets some fine quality products in to sell. Good spot to waste some time and relax. Girls at HLH were decent and fun and the place in general had a very fun sort of feel to it. If that's your thing I'd reccomend. The only downside I saw to HLH was if you want food you need to order out. But that didn't seem to be a problem as when we were there delivery people were constantly stopping in to drop off Chinese or pizza or whatever. So simply find another 'more chica friendly hotel' that does not charge a $ 30. 00 "guest fee". Which by the way. Is totally stupid, to begin with. For every "two guests you take up to your room:. You be getting a free 'pop' at a hotel which did not have a 'guest fee'. Think about that.

There are lots of pretty good hotels in San Jose. You do not need to stay where they will frown upon your activities and charge you extra.
Most if not all the girls are aware of the various hotels' rules. They carry bags big enough to slip out of that short dress and put on a pair of jeans. Problem solved.

I understand your point and you are absolutely right. The problem is I'm going for the Halloween party at the Del Rey last minute and all the chica friendly hotels are booked. This is the only one I could find that day.

The Presidente no longer wants any monger business also. They enacted a dress code for women recently. A few months ago. Which pretty much rules out a guy taking a hooker up to his room. They too have gone family and business traveler friendly but not chica friendly.

I would recommend a couple of hotels for you where you would be 'right at home'. First the Castillo Hotel, the Sportsmans Lodge, or the La Amastad Hotel.

Check them out. They have web sites. And they are all chica friendly and none of them has any extra 'chica fee'. Which by the way is just another way for the hotels to put the $$$$$ screws to their guests.
