When I lived in Manila we did a charity out reach thing in Tondo once a year. The priest who ran the out reach program told us that in the streets around the hall where he and volunteers worked, there was literally one murder a night. He said the police were very slow to respond to Tondo murders as it was a regular event and nothing to get worked up about. A white man in Tondo. I wouldn't give much for his chances.

On a related topic on this thread. I feel very uncomfortable with guys talking about drugs on this board. It attracts attention to the less savory aspects of mongering, and if you think that the authorities don't eavesdrop on this board then you are naive. I personally steer well away from ANY sort of drugs (well I have an occasional beer or other alcoholic beverage) and I think it is dangerous to mention drugs here given that such things are illegal in the Philippines. Surely the discussion is best suited to the India or Sri Lankan board.

I think it would be much better if you kept your requests for that sort of information to PMs if you must do it.

Tondo is probably the worst slum in Manila. Its right after Intramuros on the way to Caloocan about 10 min taxi ride from malate. Cheapest pussy in Manila but safety is a BIG ISSUE. Local guys can share more info.

As the Swagman bus from Angeles City pulled into Ermita on Saturday afternoon, I checked my watch anxiously, calculating that I had about an hour and a half before I needed to get to the airport.
