Ararat: I also find that the path to Oase from Seuberg train stop is not too bad. I don't recall any muddy areas, as the path is paved or heavily graveled. You must have gotten side-tracked.

However, during the day toward Oase I take the S-Bahn 5 all the way to Friedrichsdorf end station and then connect on the small train to Burgholzhausen (exit at the first stop). The train ticket from Frankfurt Main Station costs the same whether you get off at Seulberg or Burgholzhausen.

But returning to Frankfurt at night or early morning from Oase, I walk with a small flashlight to the Seulsberg S-Bahn station. It runs every 30 minutes.

You can relax and spend the entire night until morning at Oase and then take the S5 from Seulberg at 4:41 (m-f) or 5:11 (daily). The Burgholzhausen train does not run as often, especially on weekends.
