So, you settled your 4x4 bill with the girl who lives in Campo Grande with a kid for R$325.

I know a former 4x4 girl, who was tops on the Brazilian boards as a terma girl and a freelancer, who now tells me she pays R$400 for her casa out in Campo Grande, where she lives with her son. She tells me she makes R$50 a day, and she is in "school" in a cosmetic program (hairdresser) of some type in centro.

So, my point, which relates to some of the mini-relationship conversations by Bubba Boy and others on this board is:

Maybe a guy snags one of these soon to be former GDPs for an ongoing mini-relationship, maybe it is in Campo Grande (get on down to the Central train station on the SuperVia, get the direct train to Campo Grande, do it in the morning if you're going to) , maybe it is in Bangu. For what you pay for an hour in 4x4 terma, you can pay half a month's rent, and probably have as many pernoites of all the service you describe as much as you want in a few weeks per year in RJ. And you could have that with 2 or 3 girls. Anyway, this is my line of thinking.

There is a 33 year old former 4x4 GDP that I am thinking of. Then there is a maybe 27 year old GDP that I have been trading emails with, probably in Zona Norte somewhere. Then there is a mid 20s former 4x4 best bunda girl I am thinking of. Then there is a 31 year old mulatta 4x4 GDP I am thinking of.

Again, I do not yet have experience in executing this plan. I've had some of these girls from 2008 to 2011. I am not even saying a man would want or expect to be the only guy. It's Brazil. But if you get a gig where for the 2 or 3 weeks you are there, you get a few pernoites a week with a woman who is extremely talented at something that makes you happy, would that not be a pretty good situation? Say you spend R$400 or $R600, it's a small fortune for that early 30's GDP looking at a kid who can start understanding the world, and it might be a girl who you know is a good fit in sex. Get out to a love motel like motel Salou / Oklahoma in Campo Grande, and pernoite is like $R35, and an apartment can be had for R$400 a month.

Started gathering all info I could find on MV30 and Terma 31 and found that Luana was working at Terma 31 last year right about this time. This crazy idea that she might be back this year came into my head.

I went there in May to hook up with Luana and unfortunately, she was in Sao Paolo that week. I was fucking pissed, I had missed her at Terma 502, I then missed her at Terma Black & White and now I had missed her at Terma 31! I keep searching the brasilian websites for her, but I haven't been able to find out where she is working now.

Set off to Centro at around 7. 30. I had one look at the entrance to T31 (well-lit) and the street and decided I will hazard it later and then went into MV30 (Thanks Bubba Boy and Torgoch). The counter women sounded a bit intimidating but I pulled my bunny-in-the-headlights routine and then got a key. The prices are displayed right at the counter and I went to take a leak. I could hear the 4 ladies in the entrance area starting to practice their English. Changed quickly into a robe (which was a total waste of time as I remembered later that I could have just gone ahead in street clothes) and went to get a drink. There was a grand total of about 10 girls out of which there were at least two very doable slim morenas. About 3 were otherwise occupied in the totally dead boate area and the rest were continuing to chat in groups. I finished the beer and went to change back. Then the girls started asking about where I was from, do I speak Portugues and when I will be back etc etc. I promised them Thursday, paid my R$30 and got out.

MV30 is an interesting place and my idea of going there on a Monday despite Bubba Boy's guide warning that it is a bad idea, was a bad idea. I will go back when time permits soon and check it out. The girls seemed a bit more chatty and may be next time there will be more going on to sustain my interest. It is in a well lit street, pretty close to a square / junction of streets, so I think later at night it won't be a problem walking back to Uruguaiana.

Walked back to the Plan B, T502. Completely dead. About 4 chicks. 5 guys in the boate. Didn't even finish the beer this time. Paid the entrada and exited. The receptionists this time want people to drop money into the Christmas donation box.

Onward to Plan C. 4x4, as I decided R$50 was enough for science for one evening. It was about 9 by then and there was a show going on when I entered. A lot of guys milling around but the girls didn't look busy. By the fourth beer when Estefany #2 walked in. Finally. After some re-interviewing (been 3 months) we went up with another beer for each. I asked for a cabinee and she took me to a room behind the timekeeping ladies which said 'suite'. I was starting to get pissed when she opened the door and it was a cabine. Sorry, my bad.

Not really. Rio isn't really big on massage as such. Sex, yes. Massage, no.

If you've been searching, it's not a very convincing job. RTFF then RTFF again. 'Around town'? Rio is a big city. Centro? Copa? Zone North? You'll find full information by searching printing and reading Bubba's Guide and Sperto's (priced and rated) maps. Rio is not a city full of quick answers for a first visit. You'll have a learning curve and people will be helpful if you demonstrate that you really have read this forum section and got some sort of clue what you are heading into. Apart from that, have fun!

Thanks for the info. As usual I kind of found the answers AFTER I posted. Sorry for that. Another thing: Anyones got experience of picking up girls from brazilcupid. Com. I mean : The girls there seem pretty intersted in contact. Is this common or is something up with that?

It should provide you with just about everything you asked for: Termas, Privês, Prices, Parts of town etc. That should at least limit your search.

Cartman, if the daytime-privês are no option and the termas are highpriced you should try something else.

Why not try Florida bar? Florida can be very good or totally dead. You could head to Praça Mauá after work, have a beer at the Filipino Bar and then go to Florida Bar. Session upstairs or next door at Puma Motel.

A friend of mine frequented Florida quite a lot earlier this year. He said it was good even in the afternoon. He dated some of the strippers outside of their work and even got some good old free sex.

Praça Mauá is a shell of its former self. The Filipino Bar has been demolished and the whole area is under construction. As I've reported before, the Praça Mauá area is undergoing gentrification. Read lots of new office buildings. On a recent visit to Rio in October, I was amazed at some of the changes to the once lively nightspot. The area is pretty dead now, with a Brazilian Jazz Bar (albeit fairly expensive place) , being the only recent addition to the area.

As for Florida Bar, IMHO is also a shell of its former self and the talent was terrible. No real new talent to speak off and many of the old hags where still there and sitting around being as lazy as ever.

In years past, I usually spent a lot of time in the Praça Mauá area, but for the 4-weeks that I was in Rio, I spent probably less than two (2) hours total in the Praça Mauá. There's no longer a vibrant P4P scene there and I have my doubts if Bar Florida will be there for much longer.

Things not so good on my last visit to Rio:

• Balcony. Nothing more to say that hasn't already been said. Just more off the same crap.

• The high prices of just most everything from açai to busceta.

• GDP attitudes.

• Continuing Lack of P4P clubs and nightlife in the evenings in Copa or Centro.

Things I did enjoy on my last visit to Rio:

• Downtown boites / casas (still pretty good value)

• Downtown T's (4x4 and 2-Tier T's) (BTW, for those of you who are fans of Terma Aeroporto, it will be re-opening soon, in the new year)

• Lapa on the Weekends.

• Free Jazz / Bohemian music concerts in the theatre square by Tridentes on Wednesdays (good place to meet local / tourists girls (albeit a bit on the hippy side of life).

• Having drinks on the ferry to Niteroi and having hours of fun in the 5-6 story GDP fun-houses on Av. Ernani do Amaral Peixoto. Had more fun there, than most T's in Rio, for the first time in a long time and at a fiction of the cost. YMMV, as you'll need to knock on a few doors to find the gems, but they are there.

• VM was still OK for a beer and a few hours of fun on slower nights, but quality is hard to find. It has a new an upscale boate (I forget the name, Black & White, I think?) , with R$20 entrada, where the girls seem to be nicer quality.

• R$4, 50mg generic Viagra (by Teuto, in most Drogaria store pharmacists) , which I found worked amazingly well, for up to 2-2. 5 hrs and 1-1. 5hrs if I halved the dosage. What a bargain!

All-in-all decent trip for last minute planning, but not memorable, as in past years.

If any of you can wear slightly upscale clothes. Even jeans and a polo shirt. And have the time to kill, allow me to sing the praises of Esch Cafe's outpost in Centro. It's conveniently located on the same street as T65 (Rua Rosario, I think) , about half a block towards 65 from Rio Branco. It's all old dark wood, exposed brick, and Rio elite doing business. It's a cigar cafe, and they have a nice if pricey humidor (think Cubans in the R$40-R$55 range and up). Great mixed drinks. Really good filet mignon steak sandwich with quejo and salada. Except it's pricey (R$40). Still if you are in the neighborhood (4x4 is 1 block away. 502 is 1 block away. 65 is 1 block away) , and you want to indulge a bit on a trip, give it a whirl. I spent 3. 5 hours there on Friday night and didn't even make it to 65! LOL, that said 65 would have been cheaper!

FYI they close early every weeknight (by 7pm-8pm) except Friday. Not open weekends.

By the way, GREAT espresso too.
