PIP: Tried to send this in Private Message, but you don't have PM (yet). Welcome to the board. None of us are telling anyone else what to tip. Several of us have said what we DO tip. And there is legitimate discussion of whether the tip is a good idea. We keep saying this: to each his own tip.

Doubt anyone with a semblance of a mathematical brain would agree with that. Of course its your biz, but its also THE NEXT GUY's biz. If you tip a girl 3000, who's normal take from your barfine is 750, then you are driving up either price, expectation, or both. Same applies to me when I tip p50. Adding extra money into the equation in a system where its not expected (such as asia, where she understands that her 750 is all-inclusive) will change future price / expectation. Adding such money in a system where its expected (westernized countries) does nothing. If everybody tipped her p3000, she will make 6 months salary in just one month (untaxed, on tips alone).

Well, maybye I'm just different. When I arrive in AC I have a LOT of money that I have saved up just for the trip to have a GOOD time. I normally tip the girl 1000-1500 everytime and then take them to breakfast. I have given girls 3000 tips numerous time. But that's normally because they let me take numerous pics or made a video or something extra. Random guys coming to AC making big tips don't drive up the price. The greedy owners drive up prices. I spent $4, 500 in 10 days on my last trip! People always ask me how can I spend that much in AC in such a short time. It's because I go to have fun and treat the girls well. I ring the bells, go to Forbidden City Bar and throw money from above. I just like seeing the girls happy. That's just me.

Having a good time here, as usual Pony Tails for afternoon is nice, but remember the former German restaurant Edelweiss? Very nearby. It's now a Korean owned girlie-bar, the line-up is pretty good IMHO. Worth to have a look at.

What surprised me, many hotels have vacancies, even supposed to be highest season now. Strange, fanancial crisis everywhere.

Have you guys noticed a increase of runners?

Over the past years there is an increase of runners, for sure. Go back in any forum to eg. 2004, the word "runner" is still unknown because there weren't any. Barfine a girl at 3pm and she stayed with you till 11am next day without any discussion. I've done that countless times.

Runners popped up with the inflow of the Koreans 07/08 or so, maybe it has something to do with it, but I don't know. Probably.

To be honest, having had a runner in 2004, I would have gone back to the bar with her and make a big fuss, nowadays I don't care too much anymore. Sort of getting older maybe, I'd let her go without tip and can sleep quietly without trouble, also fine with me, for the morning bang I can easily call someone else to come over for ST.

Just tip what you feel the service provider deserves. They have done a good job? Tip them, otherwise don't tip them.

I apply this simple rule in any country regardless what the local habits are.

Don't feel like you need to keep up with the Joneses, Habibs and Kim Chungs in the tipping department. Some of these guys drop 4000 peso tips and I really question what value they get for this largesse. Want to feel like Donald Trump for a day? OK. Nice treatment next time you are in town? Perhaps, but keep in mind average "tour of duty" for an AC hooker is 6 months or less. The turnover of girls is very high. When I visit an AC bar I see no faces I recognise. All new arrivals, been there 3 months or less. Career prostitutes are a rare kind of woman, most girls will try it for a few months, get sick of it quickly, and leave. So next time you come, the girl you tipped 4000 will simply not be there, long gone elsewhere.

Come on Eddie. Most girls on blow row have 5-7 ST customers a day? I have never even seen that many guys on the street for each to have had that many customers. Most guys I see have a drink, talk, and leave.

Mostly the Santos gals work 8-hour shifts. With a 4-hour barfine. I pass by several times a day and night as I stay a block away, and see the same girls for days on end. Sometimes I think I'm the only one grabbing on the block. Other gents?

I have found the girls there are more down to earth and friendly. Only issue I have is they do so many BJ per day and I do not want to barfine them knowing what they do. Even in regular bars the girls.

Have sex frequently and do BJ as well but I do not see it.

Yes. If you don't tip your western waitress, you might be seen as cheap charley. If you don't tip any western service provider, you might be seen as a cheap charley. But if you don't tip in non-western countries, you probably won't be seen as a cheap charley. Don't tip your pinay waitress, she won't think of you as kuripot. If you don't tip your pinay hooker, she probably won't see you as kuripot. If she (either the waitress or hooker) actually DOES see you as kuripot, then she's spoiled. Other clients previous to you were in the custom of tipping her. Custom is hard to break. If you are used to a custom, it becomes built-in, and difficult not to perform the custom in a place where its not done. Its up to you to break the custom (only in those places where its not performed, or a different custom is performed). Do as the romans do (but only in rome).

Well said, as I also follow the "Roman rules" when I travel. When I finally do leave any girl a tip at all is to show just how great she was to me (and the tips from me are never over 200p- my usual is 100p). I leave a tip only because I WANT TO and NOT because I HAVE TO.

To those that have met me or know me then they also know I frequent LOS and Bali and in fact, I just returned from Bali from a 2 week stay there. And just for the record, for all those times I've been in Bali, I have NEVER EVER left a tip to anyone, no matter if they were a restaurant waitress, hooker or taxi driver etc. WHY-because the Indonesians are NOT a tipping culture (just like the Philippines). But I do seem to be getting into a bad habit in Philly as I do find myself tipping once in a while here, so go figure.
