TigerX, you can still have a good time. Nice girls and delicious food. You have obviously RTTF, so know that renting a ST apartment is the way to go. Spanish is really easy to learn. Once you get the verb conjugations down, everything else follows. However, you can have a nice time without speaking the language. I would say that halfthe guys who visit speak little or no Spanish.

Thanks for the response. I don't exactly understand what rttf is I assume it's something to do with reading the threads but I appreciate the return information. Something I did read stated that an apartment was about 35 to 50 USA dollars a day.

From 2007 till 2009 Lima was my top destination. All the things you say are true, and concerning higher prices, the inflated airlines prices with limited flying times in Peru's summer (Spirit Airlines only flys to Lima one day a week.)

I will never forget my many trips to Lima, but now it is time to move to greener pastures.

BTW David, thanks again for your help a while ago. Some of the clowns you have delt with have no clue to what a good man you are.

For a couple of years now I've had Lima on my radar mostly from what I've read on this forum and the good things I've read about your support. Now I'm considering booking a flight and hear things have changed. Is it really that bad now? Medellin and Buenos Aires are on my shortlist but have never been to either. Have things changed in these places too? I've been to CTG and SJO (as a frame of reference) so if Dave or anyone can compare or comment much appreciated.

I have to say that David is the man to go. I don't know how he does it but it he does it! We should call him David Copperfield after the magician or something like that because he does some amazin' stuff!

For all those who are wondering whether Lima might be for them, I just had an excellent time there.

The tourist neighborhoods (Miraflores etc.) are very safe and clean. It's easy to rent an apartment (see the thread on short term apartment rentals). But by far the best thing is that David is willing to help guys out by connecting them with nice local girls. Over two different days David sent two little sweethearts in my direction (both cute, one 19 the other 24, with great attitudes too). As he has said, the price is 220 soles including cab fare, and the girls aren't hardened pros, just normal local girls looking to make some extra cash.

Make sure to look at David's thread about what information he needs if you want him to help you. Good logistics make it easier for everyone.
