Well I beg to differ. I think your question should be."I don't understand why I can't pick up a hot freelance chick for only 1000Baht". I have been to Insomnia, Thermae, and Climax. We went for dinner at CDC, Wine I Love You restaurant. The bill was 2700Baht. So guys in the end you pay for quality no matter what. If you want to spend 1000-1500Baht your girls looks will reflect that price. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so to each their own. Anyone can spend a few Baht to get a simple lay, however I monger to fuck hot chicks, it is easy to pick up the average ones for free. To find a real beauty you have to wine and dine them sometimes for weeks to get into their pants and sometimes I would just like to skip all that. Paying a higher premium just seems to do the trick for me. In the end I get to fuck some really hot chicks.

I am not entirely new to BKK, as I spent two nights and three days there a few years ago. I don't think Latin girls are "wild go-ers" any more than the Thai girls I met. There are many major differences between the scenes, such as the Go-Go bars I saw in Soi Cowboy, the soapy and the Blow Job Bar I went to (NOTHING like these exist in Latin America). The Medellin Mansion is nice because there are almost always really nice chicas who are hanging around there ready for a customer. There is no bar fine for mongerers at the mansion either, and the prices are only slightly higher than in the clubs. What I was referring to in comparing LL to the Mansion was only that girls are easily available on the premises.

One major difference that I did note was that non-pro Thai girls were very hard to conquer for the traveler in BKK. In contrast, with a little internet preparation (tagged, badoo, etc) , I have never fail to get a non-pro in Latin America who is half my age, even if I am there only a few days. Even though I plan to be in BKK an entire week, I doubt I will succeed in conquering a non-pro (I would be delighted to take advice on this if someone thinks they can help!).

You might want to try more online dating sites in addition to Baddoo and Tagged. Also try not to shoot for the moon and go for a 20 something Hi-so girl. Hell even a young hansum Brad Pitt look alike would have a hard time pulling that. Try for a nice looking MILF in their 30's and you might find better luck.

Guide for dating thai girls, with more the expat in mind:

1. Don't try to date a bargirl. Just don't. They're for fun. Enjoy them. But leave it at that. Find one with no connection at all to the nightlife. Seems hard at first, but gets easier with time.

2. Be careful with girls under 25. Especially if you're over 40. Thai girls are fairly immature in general, but if she's under 25 forget it. If you're an older guy, thai women in their 30s and 40s seem to make for very happy and stable relationships.

In my experience of Thai girls they do have just as many problems in understanding Farrang Culture as we do in understanding them!

What, to THEM, seems perfectly normal behaviour, to us guys is completely CRAZY!

And, by the same token some of the things that WE do, say and think must seem absolutely incomprehensible to them.

Just TRY to accept that we are so, so different and just accept that you will NEVER completly understand Thai behaviour and you will not be far wrong!

You have to wade through all of this if you want to find a dateable girl on an internet dating site. One thing is for sure, as a first timer you can't go wrong with LL. It is not the cheapest place but it is more than worth it's price. There is no requirement that you have to get the girls from the Sports Lounge. (BTW the barfine goes down after midnight or so). I have stayed many times and I would recommend it highly. Where else you can get a mentor for free, who can give you all the insights of BKK night and day scenes.

I have been dutifully reading the forum in preparation for a business trip to BKK. My model for a business trip is based on my Medellin experience, where life at the Mansion introduces a "can't fail" aspect to any particular day (or night!).

I thought that LL would be the Thai equivalent of the Mansion.

I don't think it is wise to make this sort of comparison. LL is a place to stay that is in amongst a street with many Massage Places and Sports Bars. Failure to choose a suitable girl, with the right chemistry, is certainly possible. LL Sports bar attracts girls who want to work in a classier place than a go-go bar but don't want to do massage where they have little opportunity to refuse customers. LL Sports bar gives nice fun guys a chance to hook up with girls where a good chemistry exists, and helps these girls pay the rent too. LL is a relaxed laid back place, like an Oasis in the middle of a city, where can eat breakfast even when it seems to be lunchtime.

The girls in these places are mostly not likely to be porn-stars, but may still be suited to the customer if the chemistry is right. These girls don't last for a long time if they are really great, because they are mostly looking for a western boyfriend / husband and many of Giotto's girls have been indeed stolen away by customers. I don't know anything about the current set of girls there.

If you stay at LL and don't find the right girl in the sports bar, or they are too shy for your taste (assuming you look for wild and very experienced girls) , then there are plenty of other options around, like nearby Massage Parlours, or go-gos with naked girls in Soi Cowboy.

Was there last week for a short spell daytime.

Seemed to me that Soi 33 was a bit quiet and so was the Sport Lounge, surprisingly as at dinner time it should be more equipped.
