i'm not sure a coffee pot or a text to speech application are good sources for the proper english spelling of colombia. if "columbia" is the proper english spelling of "colombia", then the webster's english dictionary has a spelling error.

But Honestly, I am in same shoes as you are but I find a way. You have to be creative enough. The art in this matter is not to make it a big deal at all.

If you think too much about your travels to Colombia you will never be able to do so. I don't know which line of work you are in, but think of a way that a trip can be justified in a work related atmosphere. Their are many other cities in Colombia which have better options for Women like Medellin.

Lastly, if you absolutely have to tell your wife where you are travelling to then you are better off not cheating on her. As their is a good chance she will find out eventually and then you will have to explain.

IMHO, mongers who are married live in a fantasy world thinking their wives don't know what their men are up to. If you are married to some one for more then 5+ years they can tell just by looking at your facial expression as to what you are thinking. It is not that women don't know what us men are doing but in my opinion many women knowingly look the other way.

If my memory serves me right on the night before JFK was killed some of his SS men were drunk in a night spot in Texas. If you have watched the event you can see the first person to react to the attack was the First Lady, not the SS. Nothing was done to them. recent news report on the cartagena hooker scandal: it was a female secret service agent that blew the whistle. she found out about it and told on the male agents. i'm not surprised.

she was in charge of south america operations, a 20 year veteran. could she have squash it? maybe. should she had risked her career for some dumb horny assed agents? no. from my understanding she ordered the agents home, which was a good call, but i don't think she went public with that. it somehow was leaked and the press got a hold of it. the agents should have pooled some money and ended it at the hotel. but they tried to pull rank and bully the situation, and it got out of hand.
